Chapter 969: Chapter 996: Did You Miss Me? (7)
With a gentlemanly gesture of invitation, he said, "Please."
Mia Ginger’s eyes arched in a smile, and she didn’t hold back. She walked toward the hall, remarking as she went, "Should we go outside for a look? You didn’t happen to get me a car, did you?"
"..." Mason Sutton glanced at her, "You’re quite perceptive."
"Really?"
"Keys." Mason Sutton handed the car keys directly to her.
Mia Ginger looked down, "An Audi?"
As they talked, the two of them left the house. The car was parked by the flower bed at the base of the steps, a white Audi TT with beautiful, smooth lines, looking especially striking in the sunset.
Mia Ginger pursed her lips and circled the car twice, happily saying, "Thanks, Brother Sutton."
"Mainly thank your dad."
"Thanks, Dad." Mia Ginger raised her eyes to take another look and asked him, "Uh, you drove this here, so how will you get back? Should I give you a ride?"
"Didn’t you say you had a classmate gathering tonight?" Mason Sutton reminded her, "Just take me along on your way there."
"Alright then." Mia Ginger nodded, "It’s almost time. Let me run upstairs to grab my bag, and then we can head out."
"Okay."
Mia Ginger turned around to get her bag.
Mason Sutton waited, and she didn’t delay. She quickly grabbed her bag and drove off.
——
PM.
Mia Ginger arrived at her destination, the Vermilion Club.
The agreed time was 7:30. She parked her car and walked in with her bag. The reserved private room was on the third floor, and she didn’t take the elevator. A waiter guided her directly up to the third floor.
Before entering, she already heard a burst of laughter and chatter.
As soon as Roy Anders looked up, he saw her and quickly stood up, "Mia Ginger is here."
"You finally made it! I got here at 6:40." Mina Lee turned her head and jumped off her chair to greet her, winking and saying, "You didn’t forget our uncle’s photos, right?"
"..." Mia Ginger shrugged, "I haven’t even seen him since I got back."
"Oh no." Mina Lee was on the verge of collapsing, "What should I do then?"
"It’s okay, it’s okay." Mia Ginger comforted her with a smile, "I’ll get you some gossip later."
"I knew you wouldn’t let me down." Mina Lee’s expression changed as quickly as the weather; tears hadn’t even fallen before she was beaming with a big smile.
The early arrivals couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
In the middle of the racket, Mia Ginger’s phone rang; it was Windsor Myres.
She answered it and said directly, "Take the elevator to the third floor, turn left, go all the way in, and it’s the second-to-last private room."
"Got it." Windsor Myres didn’t say much and hung up.
As soon as she hung up, Camden River’s call came in, and Mia Ginger shared the location with him too.
Downstairs——
Camden River hung up, quickly stepped toward the elevator, got in, and was momentarily taken aback.
Windsor Myres was also surprised, looking at him for a while, then smiled, "Long time no see."
"Yeah." Camden River nodded with a smile, "Long time no see."
The elevator slowly ascended. In the small space, the two stood side by side. Perhaps because they hadn’t expected to meet so soon, they didn’t know what to say. With a ding, the elevator stopped on the third floor.
Neither of them moved. Camden River turned his head to glance at her, "Let’s go."
"Okay." Windsor Myres nodded, smiled, and followed him out.
After two years, Camden River was slightly paler than before. His frame was still lean, but he walked with firm strides, looking more upright and vigorous. In a simple white short-sleeved T-shirt paired with jeans, carrying a large bag on his shoulder, his hair cropped short, clean and tidy, he still had that scholarly air. Yet, Windsor Myres felt that something about him had changed.
She casually asked, smiling with pursed lips, "What’s that in your bag? It’s so full."
"It’s a gift one of Mia Ginger’s friends asked me to bring for her. She was in a rush coming back, so she asked me to carry it." Camden River replied nonchalantly.
His voice was deeper than before, sounding mature and magnetic, quite charming.
Windsor Myres suddenly felt a bit nervous.
It was as if she had suddenly become smaller, or Camden River had suddenly grown larger.
Two years had passed, and he was no longer like a boy, not the easily irritable boy she remembered. He had truly grown into a silent, resilient man.
This feeling came so suddenly, catching her off guard, leaving her a bit at a loss.
"How have you been?" Camden River asked suddenly.
Windsor Myres looked into his deep, dark eyes and smiled faintly, "Not bad. How about you?"
Camden River’s eyes curved slightly, "Pretty good, just quite busy."
"Did you miss me?" As the two reached the private room door, Windsor Myres suddenly hugged his waist from the side, asking softly, "In these two years, did you often think about me? Camden River."
As soon as she spoke, the private room door suddenly opened from the inside.
Tong Tong’s face froze for a second, then unexpectedly broke into a smile, "You’re back, huh?"
After speaking, she turned her head and saw Windsor Myres beside him. She hesitated for a moment, then smiled, "Come on in. Mia Ginger and the others are here. They’ve sent me down to meet the others."
