Chapter 944: Chapter 971: Bidding Farewell to the Old and Welcoming the New (5)
As they were in the car, the sun was suddenly obscured by clouds, and the wind picked up.
The July weather changes quickly; now, the clouds have already covered half the sky, and it feels like a storm is about to come. She stands in the wind, barely able to keep steady.
Maeve fell asleep on the road.
At this moment, Caiden Ward took his suit jacket, wrapped it around her, and held her in his arms.
George Davis had arranged everything beforehand. After parking the car, a man with a welcoming smile came out from the estate and invited them inside.
Summer Escape Estate is nestled at the deepest part of Peace Scenic Area, which unlike other nearby sites, has a much higher level of consumption. Because of this, it’s less bustling than other sites, appearing much more tranquil.
Upon entering the gates, a courtyard built of wood and stone stretches out before them, with small bridges and flowing water, bamboo shadows swaying. Below the stone bridge are blooming lotuses and a few carp darting swiftly, leaving ripples on the water’s surface.
Mia Ginger was heading inside when the rain came pouring down.
Outside the corridor, branches swayed wildly, and the wind came from all directions, beating against the wooden windows and doors, creating a frightening sound.
A chill quickly set in.
Koa Jackson hugged her shoulders, following the man leading the way.
After winding through several corridors, the group finally stopped outside a very elegant courtyard.
"This area is quiet; you all can rest assured staying here tonight. If you need anything, just call," the man said with a smile, pushing open a door to a room, "Look, the phone is right there by the table, available 24 hours a day. Tonight there’s a performance at South Garden—if you’re interested, you can head over after dinner. Additionally, we have some unique experiences here; the introduction sheet is on the table. You can call at any time if needed."
Caiden Ward glanced at him, directly saying, "Leave those things for them to explore on their own. The little girl is asleep; first, take me to see the room."
"Sure, sure, this way please, President Ward." The man repeatedly apologized, exiting the room.
The wind blew the door again with a thunderous sound; the storm seemed almost capable of reaching their faces. Mia Ginger quickly stepped forward to close it.
The wind and rain were shut out, and the room fell silent.
She closed the door, then pursed her lips and turned to look.
Koa Jackson stood in the dim room, his brows clear and gentle, like distant mountains.
She walked with small steps, one, two, three, and Koa Jackson raised his hand and held her wrist, directly pulling her around the waist into his arms. Mia Ginger couldn’t help but chuckle, kicked off her shoes, and wrapped her arms around his neck.
Koa Jackson lowered his head, and her lips immediately reached up to meet his.
