Chapter 935: Chapter 962: Remembered (4)

Koa Jackson unfastened his seatbelt and turned his head to ask her, "Did you bring any change?"

"Yes. Do you want anything to eat?"

"No need." Caiden Ward looked back and said, "Just buy her a chicken leg, and a portion of fries will do."

"The sun is so nice, we can add an ice cream cone." Maeve leaned over the car seat, smiling as she asked him.

Caiden Ward smiled wryly, "Let’s indulge you."

"Great." Having been promised, Maeve grinned and said to Mia Ginger, "One chicken leg, one portion of fries, and one ice cream cone. That’s all I want, sorry for the trouble, sis."

Mia Ginger ruffled her hair and got out of the car with a smile.

Koa Jackson and Caiden Ward also sat in the car for a while before opening the doors to get some fresh air.

Maeve was running back and forth not far from the two.

Koa Jackson glanced down at her, thought for a moment, then asked Caiden Ward, "Are you planning to keep this up?"

"What?" Caiden Ward was stunned.

Koa Jackson fixed his gaze on him, "Are you going to continue taking care of this girl?"

"Why not?" Caiden Ward said nonchalantly, "With the Myres Family being like that, no one else is looking after her."

"Has your aunt not mentioned anything? Logically, it would be okay for you to help look out for her, but," Koa Jackson pondered a bit, "sharing meals, living together, sleeping together, not to mention being completely accommodating, even personally combing her hair, this..."

Koa Jackson frowned, seemingly unsure how to describe it.

Suddenly Maeve’s voice interrupted the two men’s conversation, "Uncle Ward, I want that little pinwheel."

Caiden Ward didn’t say anything, just went over with a smile to help her buy the pinwheel.

Koa Jackson stood where he was, watching them for a moment longer.

Maeve was seven years old, growing quickly, and Caiden Ward crouched down to lift her up when he got close, and they picked out a pinwheel together.

It all seemed odd to him, no matter how he looked at it.

Koa Jackson decided not to look any longer and turned around, glancing in the direction of KFC.

A short while later, Mia Ginger emerged.

It was just ten in the morning, the weather in the scenic area was good, the sky was bluer than in the urban area, and the sun was ample and bright. She walked towards them from a distance with a paper bag in one hand, wearing a soft-textured creamy white dress, her short hair as long as it was when they first met, beautifully slender. Koa Jackson watched her, momentarily dazed.

As Mia Ginger walked further, she saw him and picked up her pace, raised a hand, and waved with a smile.

Koa Jackson’s lips unconsciously curved into a smile, but suddenly his expression changed as he shouted, "Watch out!"

As soon as the words were out, the screech of brakes pierced the air.

The world went silent for a moment.

He fixed his gaze intently as Mia Ginger stopped half a meter in front of the car.

She looked at him, her face blank.

Koa Jackson ran towards her.

Mia Ginger watched him move, seeming to snap back to reality, turning her head as the passenger window quickly rolled down, the face of the flushed man inside shouted at her, "Watch where you’re going!"

Instinctively, Mia Ginger stepped back two paces.

The car sped past her like the wind.

She looked at Koa Jackson running closer, standing in front of her, worriedly asking, "Are you okay?"

The paper bag Mia Ginger was holding smacked onto the ground.

The image that filled her mind nearly overwhelmed her, as she looked at Koa Jackson who was so close, tears welled up in her eyes, after a moment, her lips trembled slightly, murmuring, "Brother Jackson."

As soon as she spoke, tears gushed forth.

Koa Jackson froze, pulling her into his embrace, speaking softly, "Were you scared? It’s alright, it’s alright, I’m here."
