Chapter 931: Chapter 958: First Instance Judgment (5)

"You don’t love me anymore? I don’t believe it." Windsor Myres grabbed his wrist, "Do you dare to swear it? Say you don’t love me anymore."

"I should have loved you." Camden River withdrew his wrist, looked steadily into her eyes, and said, "The feelings and experiences you gave me were ones I never had before, and I may never have again in my life. But love will never be my entire life, never. Windsor, people must look ahead, I can’t be arguing with you from morning till night every day, it’s exhausting, really, such passionate emotion looks fierce but also drains you, I really don’t want to continue."

"Is there really no possibility for us?" Windsor Myres suddenly stepped forward and hugged his waist, "I can change. I can change, don’t be like this, okay? The way you are now leaves me feeling really unsettled."

Camden River sighed and pushed her away from his embrace, speaking calmly, "The matter of me going to Y Country is basically settled, I can’t make any promises to you at this point, nor do I want to demand anything from you now."

"I’ll wait for you." Windsor Myres grabbed his sleeve again, "Camden River, I’ll wait for you."

"My feelings for you have indeed faded." Camden River pressed his lips, giving a wry smile, "When people calm down, it’s actually quite scary; our love has given me more pain than sweetness. If given another chance, I probably wouldn’t choose to start it."

"Are you regretting?"

Camden River didn’t look at her nor did he answer.

"No regrets are allowed." Windsor Myres bit her lip tightly, "Don’t regret, I really will change for you."

"Let’s talk about it later." Camden River’s expression was indifferent.

Windsor Myres asked him, "Don’t you believe me?"

Camden River looked at her steadily, "Can we not talk about this anymore, okay?"

As he spoke, he furrowed his brow, and Windsor Myres opened her mouth but was left speechless when she met his gaze.

Mia Ginger took a car back to Cloudy Capital.

Cooper Manor.

Bradley Cooper rarely came home, dressed in casual home wear, resting against the sofa in the living room.

Mia Ginger saw him only upon getting closer, greeted him with a smile, "Uncle, when did you come back?"

"I got off the plane this morning." Bradley Cooper turned his head to glance at her, tapped the sofa beside him, and smiled, "Come sit down, Uncle happens to have something to tell you regarding your novel."

"Boss Lady?" Mia Ginger smiled and stepped over to sit next to him.

Bradley Cooper smirked, "Director Erik Lee is interested, preparing to adapt it into a screenplay for a movie, isn’t that good news?"

"Erik Lee?" Mia Ginger was surprised, "Isn’t he the one?"

"That’s him, he hasn’t made a martial arts film in years and is itching for it; your story is quite good, with a light tone, very suitable for the current market."

Mia Ginger couldn’t help but rub her hands, "Will I need to do anything?"

"You likely won’t need to adapt the screenplay; his dedicated writer will do it. But I’ve already informed them not to alter it beyond recognition; they’ll update you on the progress. How does that sound?"

"Director Lee’s dedicated writer is... Damine Torres?" Mia Ginger asked, feeling dizzy.

Bradley Cooper nodded, "That’s right."

Mia Ginger gasped, her face turning red, "I totally trust him; Uncle, you’re just wonderful."

"My niece is also wonderful." Bradley Cooper laughed.

Aurora Cooper walked over and saw the two complimenting each other, couldn’t help but smile and said, "You two are really something, but it’s good news that Mia’s story is getting a movie adaptation. I’ve already decided to invest more in the production, to make it grand."

"Mom." Mia Ginger looked at her amusedly, "It’s a period drama, you can’t just insert advertisements into it."

"Shoo, shoo." Aurora Cooper said annoyed, "Is that why I’m doing it? You cheeky girl."

"Then what if no one watches it?" Mia Ginger randomly thought and suddenly worried, "I certainly believe in Director Lee’s talent, but the martial arts market hasn’t been great these years; what if the box office turns out bad?"

"Phooey, phooey, phooey." Aurora Cooper was even more speechless, "Can’t you think of something positive?"

"Haha." Bradley Cooper laughed, "You don’t need to worry about that. With proper marketing, how bad could it get? Director Lee and Writer Torres would cry if they heard you say that, having no confidence at all."

"Alright." Mia Ginger shrugged her shoulders, not so worried anymore.

But her expression remained anxious.

Bradley Cooper smiled, patted her on the shoulder, and comforted her, "I told you there’s nothing to worry about. Your mom alone could boost the box office."

Mia Ginger: "..."

Aurora Cooper chuckled, then shifted topics and asked, "Has the interview result come out yet?"

"There shouldn’t be any problem." Mia Ginger muttered softly.

"Hopefully, just waiting for the scores now." Aurora Cooper pondered, "Once the interview result and IELTS scores are out, it should be settled, thinking about it makes me a bit reluctant."

"It’s not like I won’t come back," Mia Ginger mumbled.

She actually felt reluctant too, especially when thinking about being apart from Koa Jackson, it made her feel uneasy.

After all——

Not to mention leaving the country, after settling in Cloud Capital, she and Camilia Davis hadn’t even left Cloud Capital City.

Mia Ginger exhaled a deep breath and was lost in thought when her phone suddenly rang.

It was Tia Tong.

She composed herself and answered the call with a "Hello."

"Mia Ginger?" Tia Tong’s voice was a bit hoarse, asking, "Are you still at school?"

"No, I went straight home."

"Oh." Tia Tong responded and suddenly fell silent.

Mia Ginger said softly, "Don’t think too much about the lawsuit, get a good sleep, leave the rest to the lawyer."

"I really didn’t hit her." Tia Tong started choking up as she spoke.

"I believe you."

"Hmm, thank you." Tia Tong sighed lightly and asked, "I just wanted to ask about the application for living at home, is there any procedure for that?"

"You want to live outside?" Mia Ginger raised her eyebrows in surprise.

"Yeah." Tia Tong said softly, "It’s almost time for finals, my parents are worried about the school environment affecting me, thinking I should live outside for a few days, we’ll discuss other matters next semester."

"Just go find the tutor, he should approve it."

"Okay then."

Tia Tong thanked her and hung up the phone.
