Chapter 56: Sylvia’s Call

Editor: Henyee Translations

The President’s unrequited love had always been Miss Mia, who was no longer alive. Moreover, the President had always been single because of her.

Although it was a good thing that Miss Anita had appeared, it was obvious that President Owen was changing, becoming smiley, and more down-to-earth.

But all of this was built on their contractual marriage. Ignoring whether Miss Anita would get a divorce after the contract ended, just the issue of Miss Mia wouldn’t be easy to handle.

If Miss Anita found out about the President’s unrequited love one day, the President might not be able to appease her.

The more Bruce thought about it, the more worried he became.

"Sigh, how did I end up with such a CEO?" Bruce couldn’t help but say softly.

"Owen, you and Anita have been back for so many days, but you’re not going home to see your father and me?" Sylvia said into the phone unhappily. freeweɓnovel.cøm

"Mom, I’ve been too busy lately," Owen said helplessly while glancing at the phone.

"Your father knows you’re busy, but no matter how busy you are, you should bring Anita home for a meal," Sylvia said.

"Okay, I understand. I’ll get off work early tonight and go back to dinner." Owen listened to his mother and knew that what he did was really inappropriate.

"Remember to bring Anita back. If you come back yourself, you won’t have anything to eat," Sylvia said in a threatening tone.

"I know. We’ll go together," Owen said with a smile on the phone.

After the phone hung up, Owen used the internal phone in the office to call Bruce.

"Bruce, go prepare what my parents always eat. I have to go home for dinner tonight," Owen said to Bruce on the phone.

"Yes, I’ll get it done immediately," Bruce replied into the phone.

After hanging up, Owen hesitated again and called Anita as well. "Hey, Anita, Mom called and wants us to go home for dinner tonight. Are you free?"

"Sure, I’m fine. I can end the experiment early," Anita felt hungry, so she replied.

"Okay, I’ll pick you up tonight. Just wait for me at the school gate." Owen smiled when he heard Anita agree so quickly.

"Okay, I understand. I’m hanging up." After Anita hung up, she thought about what Owen had just said about picking her up. A sweet feeling welled up in her heart. It felt so good to be picked up every day.

He had to go home to dinner today, so Owen finished his work early and left to pick up Anita with the surprise Bruce had prepared.

When Owen parked the car outside the school, he saw Anita walking toward him with a bouquet of flowers.

Anita was holding colorful flowers in her arms. As if she saw Owen from across the road, she changed it to holding the flowers one-handed. Then she waved her other free hand to show that she could already see Owen across the road.

Owen looked at Anita through the car window. She was wearing a long smog-blue dress that accompanied her slightly long curly hair. She looked extremely innocent and gentle.

Anita quickly crossed the road and got into the car with a bouquet of flowers. For a moment, the smell of delicious flowers filled the car. Owen looked at the colorful flowers and asked, "How come you bought a bouquet of flowers?"

"We’re going home for dinner today. I was thinking of giving it to Mom," Anita said with a smile while glancing at Owen.

"Oh, you’re not allergic to flowers, are you?" Anita asked quickly while thinking about how Owen normally looked so clean. She was afraid he would be allergic to pollen.

"No," Owen said with a smile while looking at Anita.

The bouquet of flowers almost filled Anita’s arms. Anita fumbled around clumsily, but couldn’t find the seat belt.

Owen leaned over, and when he leaned closer, he could immediately smell the unique scent that belonged to her.

Anita instinctively leaned back with the flower in her arms. Owen’s hand passed through her to help her put on her seat belt.

"Thank you," Anita said softly with her head lowered.

Owen didn’t respond. He just turned around and smiled at Anita, whose ears flushed again. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓

"What kind of perfume do you usually use? It smells good." Owen smelled a very pleasant peach scent just as he leaned in. This scent was familiar, and he could smell it almost every time he approached Anita, which was why he asked.

"Ah... I don’t use perfume. Maybe it’s the smell of shower gel," Anita said and lowered her head to sniff herself again.

"Why don’t I smell anything myself?" Anita murmured.

He thought she looked cute when she was muttering to herself alone, so Owen didn’t respond to her. He just looked at her lovingly the whole way.
