Chapter 164: Joan’s Anger
Editor: Henyee Translations
The more Joan thought about it, the angrier she became, but she couldn’t show it. This was Owen’s house. She had to calm down.
"Owen, we haven’t seen each other in a long time. Last time, Dad even asked me to learn more about company management from you," Joan said with a smile as she came back to her senses and looked at Owen.
"Really? I forgot. If there’s anything you don’t understand, you can come to the office and ask me," Owen said with a smile as he listened to Joan.
"Well, thank you, Owen. Can I look for you at the office these few days?" Joan smiled at Owen again.
"Yeah, sure." Owen didn’t think anything of Joan’s words and agreed quickly.
But Sylvia, who was standing beside him, felt that something was wrong when she heard this. The two families were very close, and Joan had always treated Owen as her brother.
But the situation was different now. After all, Owen was already married. It was inappropriate for a girl to look for Owen often, but Owen, who was insensitive, didn’t react at all. Sylvia thought that they were lucky Anita had gone out and wasn’t here.
"By the way, Owen, I heard that Anita went overseas. Are you guys doing okay?" Joan saw that Sylvia had gone to the kitchen to instruct the butler on tonight’s meal. Anita had also gone out to pick up Jacob, so she felt restless again.
She had to confirm if that photos had any effect on Anita and Owen’s relationship. So she pretended to be concerned and leaned closer to Owen.
"We... we’re doing good. She only went overseas to participate in an exchange." Owen smiled at her.
Joan listened to Owen and looked into his eyes. It didn’t look like he was pretending at all. Either Anita hadn’t seen the photos or she had seen them and hadn’t told Owen.
If Anita had seen these photos, but pretended not to mind and kept living with Owen, Joan had to admire her.
After all, not many women could really watch the man they loved have an ambiguous relationship with another woman. If this woman could really do that, either she didn’t love this man or she didn’t care about him at all. She only cared about the other valuable things on him.
Anita could ignore the photos, but what about Owen? Could he? With a smile, Joan thought, it seemed like things were getting interesting.
In that case, she wondered how Owen would react if he saw photos of Anita with that man called Ethan. She started to look forward to it.
"Joan, what are you smiling about?" Owen asked dubiously when he saw Joan’s sudden smile.
"Nothing, Owen. I just thought of something funny," she said with a smile while glancing at Owen.
"Okay, I’ll go check on Anita." Owen put down his cup and walked out.
"Sure." Joan nodded to show that she understood. She was planning something else, so she didn’t stop Owen.
"Joan, come here for a moment," Sylvia said to Joan as soon as Owen left her side.
"Madam Sylvia, what’s wrong?" Hearing Sylvia’s voice, Joan quickly stood up and walked towards the kitchen with a smile.
"Nothing, I just wanted you to try this dish and see how it tastes?" Sylvia looked at Joan and handed her the cutlery with a smile.
"It tastes a little salty," Joan said after tasting it.
"Really? It’s salty. That’s perfect then," Sylvia said with a smile as she looked at the dishes.
"Is this how this dish supposed to taste?" Joan asked again while listening to Sylvia.
"Yes, you must think that something you haven’t eaten is very fresh, but when you taste it and find that it doesn’t taste as good as you think, you probably won’t eat it again. After all, it doesn’t suit your taste," Sylvia said with a smile.
These words were a little ambiguous. If Joan wasn’t guilty, she definitely wouldn’t think much of it, but her motive for coming here wasn’t that simple. And she did like Owen.
So after hearing Mrs. Sylvia’s words, she thought about it for a moment and understood.
"Sylvia, I think everyone’s preferences are different, especially when it’s something one hasn’t tried. If one doesn’t try it, how will one know if it suits one or not?" Joan thought for a moment and smiled. freewebnovel.cσ๓
"That depends on whether the price of trying is too high and whether one can afford it. After all, it’s just a dish. Is it worth the price?" Sylvia said while listening to Joan.
