Chapter 156: Everything Tastes Good With You Around

Editor: Henyee Translations

"I know how to eat it. Don’t worry," Anita said with a smile as she listened to him.

It was obvious that this was not Anita’s first time here, so he smiled and didn’t continue.

"Owen, try it." Anita tore a small piece of bread first, dipped it in onion butter, and handed it to Owen with a smile.

Owen was a little resistant to onions, but Anita had already handed it over. He felt bad about not eating it, so he took it and put it in his mouth before quickly swallowing.

"How is it? It’s delicious, right?" Anita asked Owen.

Owen listened to Anita and thought about the taste. The onions had been fried beforehand and mixed with the butter. The taste wasn’t as strong.

Since the aftertaste seemed to be quite delicious and not as bad as he thought, he smiled and nodded.

"I told you this restaurant is really delicious. Try the whole chicken later when it’s served. You’ll definitely want to come again," Anita said with a smile as she looked at Owen.

"The whole chicken and vanilla ice cream are all here," the owner said with a smile after placing the two dishes on the table.

Anita nodded. "Thank you."

"Come on, try it first and see how it tastes." Anita waited until the owner turned to leave before quickly picking up the cutlery and cutting a small piece. She handed it to Owen and said, "Be careful. It’s a little hot."

Owen glanced at the roasted chicken on the table, which was golden and crispy. It did look appetizing, and it wasn’t quite the same as the roasted whole chicken they usually ate at gatherings. This roasted chicken must have been seasoned with rosemary, and it didn’t look as big as a roasted chicken. Instead, it looked like a roasted squab.

Anita saw that Owen had been staring at the roast chicken on the table without saying anything, so she called out again.

"It’s really delicious. It’s charred and crispy." Owen came back to his senses and took the roasted chicken from Anita and put it in his mouth with a smile.

"Don’t keep getting food for me. You should try it too." Owen picked up a napkin and wiped his mouth before smiling at Anita.

"I just wanted you to try it and see how it tastes. I was afraid you wouldn’t be used to it." Anita smiled at Owen as she took the cutlery and cut the whole chicken.

"I think anything I eat with you is delicious," Owen said with a smile while looking at Anita. ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com

She didn’t know how to respond to this. Anita lowered her head in embarrassment and continued to cut the roasted chicken on the table.

"Okay, I’ll cut it. You should eat first." Owen saw that Anita was blushing a little, so he didn’t continue. He moved the roasted whole chicken in front of Anita to him and started to analyze it seriously.

"I’m full. I ate so much today. I wonder if I’ll gain a few pounds." After she was full, Anita patted her stomach and looked at Owen.

"How could that be? I think you don’t have much meat on you. You feel a little bony to the touch, especially since the places where meat should grow..." Owen’s gaze swept over Anita and finally stopped on her upper body with a smile.

"No... no." Owen’s gaze was too blatant. Anita came back to her senses and quickly tightened her open jacket, then looked at Owen sheepishly.

"Okay, I don’t think you need to lose weight. Just eat without worry," Owen said with a smile after he looked away from Anita.

"You can’t believe a man’s words. I clearly have a lot of meat on me," Anita whispered as Owen got up and went to the cashier to pay.

"Come on, let’s go back," Owen said with a smile when he saw Anita still standing at the dining table after paying.

Anita caught up with him in two quick steps.

The two of them had been shopping outside for most of the day and were extremely tired, so when they reached home, the two of them collapsed on the sofa.

"Owen, your phone is ringing," Anita said to Owen as she rolled over on the sofa.

"It’s Mom."

"Pick up. Is something wrong?" Anita said to Owen.

"Mom, what’s wrong? Did you miss me, so you called me?" Owen said with a smile when he picked up the phone.

"Who misses you? I’m just asking if Anita is back in the country." Sylvia smiled when she heard Owen’s words.

"She’s already back."

"It’s good that she’s back. When are you two coming back for dinner? If you don’t have time to come back, let Anita come back," Sylvia said quickly when she heard that Anita was back.

"Got it, Mom. Why don’t I remember saying that I didn’t have time?" Owen said with a helpless smile.

"I’m afraid you’ll be busy with work and won’t have time. By the way, did Joan contact you?" Sylvia quickly changed the subject.
