Chapter 126: Bruce’s Secret Thoughts
Editor: Henyee Translations
There was a time difference. It was unsuitable for him to call Anita back, so he thought about it and composed a message to send to her. "Anita, I’m the only one at home. I miss you."
After sending this message, Owen put down his phone and went to wash up. He knew that Anita was asleep, and there was a high chance that no one would reply to his message. freeωebnovēl.c૦m
The next day, Owen didn’t go to the office too early. He had been working overtime too much lately. He was seriously overworked. When the family doctor gave him a physical examination a few days ago, he had been reminded to rest more.
Coupled with the fact that yesterday, he had resolved the matter he had been worried about, he relaxed a little today and slept at home until around noon before getting up. He washed up briefly and drove back to the company.
When he reached the office, he saw Bruce waiting for him. "Bruce, what’s wrong?" Owen spoke first.
"President, I’ve done what you asked me to do yesterday," Bruce said to Owen.
"What is it?" Owen, unable to recall what he had told him yesterday, asked dubiously.
"President, have you forgotten? You asked me to make an appointment with Miss Miranda yesterday, and I already did," Bruce said with a smile as he looked at Owen.
"Really? How fast," Owen, who didn’t expect Bruce to get an appointment with Miranda so easily, said in disbelief.
"Yes, CEO. I told them I’m CEO Owen’s secretary, Bruce, and that I wanted to discuss an endorsement with Miss Miranda, so they agreed," Bruce said with a smile as he looked at Owen.
"Well, have you guys set the time?" Owen, not expecting it to go so smoothly, said to Bruce with a smile.
"It’s scheduled to be at seven tonight at the Xiyue Restaurant, which you often go to. I’ve already reserved the location," Bruce said quickly with a hint of joy in anticipation on his face.
Owen looked at Bruce and reached out to pat him on the shoulder. "Sure. Good job. Remember to remind me tonight."
"Yes, CEO, don’t worry," Bruce replied quickly.
Owen nodded and headed for the office, but after a few steps, he found Bruce still following him, so he turned around in confusion and asked, "Bruce, what’s wrong? There’s something else?"
Bruce stood there. He thought about it shyly and finally said, "CEO, can you bring me along tonight?"
"Why would I take you with me?" Owen asked again, not understanding Bruce.
Bruce saw that Owen really didn’t understand what he meant, so he said, "President, aren’t you asking the obvious? You’re going to see Miranda. She’s a superstar in the music industry! Many people have to snatch a concert ticket to see her."
"So what are you going to do?" Owen didn’t get it, so he looked at him and asked.
"I just... I just want to go over and ask for an autograph. My mother and my friends like Miranda very much. If I get them an autograph, they’ll probably be happy." Bruce’s voice became softer as he spoke.
Actually, he knew that his request was a little unsuitable, but Miranda was too charming, so he asked Owen for help.
"Bruce, I’m going there to discuss serious business tonight. I can take you there, but I can’t promise you’ll get the autograph." Owen thought about it and looked at Bruce.
"Yes, yes. President, don’t worry. I promise I won’t trouble you." Bruce hurriedly nodded.
Owen looked at Bruce and said nothing more. He nodded and headed for the office.
When he reached the office and sat down, he glanced at the time on his phone and thought that Anita probably wasn’t very busy right now, so he video-called her.
"Owen, are you in the office?" Anita picked up the phone quickly and said happily when she saw Owen.
"Yes, I’m at the office. What about you? Did the exchange for the morning just end?" Owen saw Anita was holding a pile of information and there were many well-dressed people behind her, so he asked with a smile.
"Yeah, I just finished this morning and was just about to go eat," Anita said with a smile while holding the information in one hand and looking at Owen on the screen with the other.
"What are you going to eat?" Owen turned on his computer as he chatted with Anita.
"I don’t know. I haven’t thought about it yet. I ate spaghetti at the hotel last night and didn’t go out." Anita, who hadn’t spoken to Owen all night, couldn’t help but start pouting.
Owen couldn’t help but smile when he heard Anita’s words. "Then come back quickly. I’ll eat with you when you’re back."
