Chapter 113: Misunderstanding

"She must be angry with me," Owen thought dazedly as he sat in his office.
There were a few knocks on the door, then Bruce pushed open the door and entered.
"President, aren’t you getting off work?" Bruce asked Owen in confusion.
"I have something to do. You can go first," Owen said quietly without looking up.
"President, it’s almost eleven. Miss Anita must be anxious. Why don’t you continue the rest of the work tomorrow?" Bruce looked at Owen and said.
"Bruce, do you think it’s too early for you to get off work? Otherwise, don’t get off work. Keep working overtime." Owen looked up at him.
"President, no... no. I just saw that you’ve been working overtime these past two days. Miss Anita will be worried about you," Bruce said hurriedly.
"You worry too much. Get off work," Owen said and lowered his head to continue his work. frёewebηovel.cѳm
Bruce looked at Owen and walked out with his head lowered without saying anything. He smiled bitterly as he walked.
He could clearly feel that something was wrong with President Owen. He wondered if there was really something unhappy going on between him and Miss Anita.
Otherwise, why would the CEO, who was usually so eager to end work, not be anxious these few days?
Bruce wanted to ask what had happened so that he could help them mediate, but it was definitely inappropriate to send a message to Miss Anita to ask.
If he asked his CEO, he definitely wouldn’t tell him. Bruce could only sigh helplessly.
Owen sat in the office for a while longer while thinking about what Bruce had just said. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ
In the end, he turned off the computer, picked up his jacket, and prepared to rush home.
After getting off the elevator, he got into the car and looked at the time first. It was about 11 o’clock. He wondered if Anita was asleep at this time. As he thought about it, he drove very quickly and headed home.
When he reached home, he gently pushed open the door and found that the lights were all turned off, leaving only a small night light. He walked to the bedroom door and carefully tried to push open the bedroom door to see if Anita was asleep.
Unexpectedly, the bedroom door couldn’t be pushed open. When he pushed it the first time, he did not push it open. He thought that he was being too light. On the second time, he increased his strength, but the door was not pushed open.
It was only then that he realized that Anita must have locked the door from the inside. He had the urge to knock, but he was afraid that he would wake Anita up after she fell asleep.
So he could only stand outside the door and sigh helplessly while thinking that he was really digging his own grave.
When he returned, he had thought about confessing to Anita and explaining to her why he had deleted her messages. He didn’t expect Anita to lock the door without giving him a chance.
He stood at the door for a while longer. After confirming that Anita was probably asleep and wouldn’t come and open the door for him, he turned around and walked towards the guest bedroom.
After washing up, Owen rolled over a few times on the bed in the guest room. He hadn’t slept alone in a long time. He missed her and there was no one to wrap his arm around.
Owen really couldn’t get used to it. Although he hadn’t started sleeping with Anita for long, once they were apart, he felt like he really couldn’t leave Anita.
The more he thought about it, the more he couldn’t fall asleep. The bits and pieces of their daily interactions kept flashing through his mind.
Finally, without knowing what time it was, Owen fell asleep.
On the morning of the second day, Owen was awakened not by the alarm, but by the loud banging at the door.
He woke up and looked around at the unfamiliar surroundings before looking at his side. There was no one there. It was only then that he realized that he had slept in the guest room alone last night.
At the thought of this, he quickly lifted the blanket and got out of bed. As soon as he opened the door, he saw two large suitcases in the living room. One of the large suitcases was on the ground.
It was only then that he realized that the sound earlier must have come from the sound of this suitcase falling to the ground. Owen looked at the two suitcasees in confusion, then started searching for Anita again.
"Anita, Anita, where are you?" After shouting twice and no one responded, Owen headed for the kitchen. When he reached the kitchen, he found Anita making breakfast.
Owen had wanted to ask why there were two large suitcases in the living room, but when he saw Anita, he didn’t know what to ask. For a moment, he stood there in a daze.
"What is it? Why are you looking at me?" Anita said first while looking at Owen.
"No... nothing. Anita, are you angry?" Owen asked while watching her expression carefully.
"I’m not. Why should I be angry? I have no reason to be angry since you’re busy with work," Anita said calmly without looking at Owen. Owen didn’t know what to say.
