Chapter 136: Copy (1)

The room fell into an eerie stillness as the blinded Queen found herself ensnared within her own eggs. Her insectoid form twitched and trembled, her elongated limbs flailing aimlessly in a desperate attempt to break free.

But Shinon and Lova had orchestrated this trap with meticulous precision, leaving the Queen bewildered and vulnerable.

They circled the trapped Queen, their eyes focused and their movements calculated. They had turned the tables on her, using her instincts against her. It was a risky strategy, but it put them in a stalemate with the Queen, so it was good.

Shinon’s brow furrowed with concern as he surveyed their current predicament. Despite their success in trapping the Queen, he knew their stalemate was temporary. Time was not on their side, and the imminent danger loomed in the shadows.

The Queen writhed within the psychic hold, her blinded eyes darting around in a futile attempt to assess her situation.

Her antennae twitched, sensing the presence of her precious eggs scattered across the chamber. She knew that any reckless movement could bring about their demise, jeopardising the future of her species.

The Queen’s instincts screamed at her to lash out, to escape the confines of her prison, but she knew the consequences would be dire.

"What’s next?" Lova asked shinon as she tried to put her bones back in place using her abilities.

"I haven’t figured that out yet." Shinon sighed, shaking his head. "For now, all we can do is threaten her to stay in place... though I don’t think that’ll work for long."

The Queen hissed, her anger mingling with the fear that flickered within her destroyed eyes. She had underestimated these human adversaries, and now she regretted it deeply. She should have finished them when she could, but now... the tables had turned on her.

Just then, an idea hit Shinon. As long as he had control over the eggs, he had control over the Queen. She wouldn’t dare to cross them without being prepared.

Shinon’s voice rang out again, his words laced with unwavering resolve. "We don’t want to destroy your species, Queen. But we will if we have to. There is no other choice. Surrender, and we may consider sparing your life."

"You wouldn’t dare!" The Queen shrieked.

"Try me," Shinon replied, scraping one of the eggshells with his blade.

The Queen’s body twitched, a visible display of her internal turmoil. Her antennae drooped a sign of resignation. She realised the futility of her position and the limited options that lay before her.

The instinct to fight and survive clashed with the knowledge that a wrong move could mean the end of everything. Silence settled over the chamber as the Queen contemplated her next move.

The weight of her responsibility bore down upon her, the burden of preserving her species in the face of overwhelming odds. It was a choice that held the future in the balance.

Shinon and Lova remained poised, their weapons ready, prepared for any sudden action. The tension in the chamber was palpable, as if the very air held its breath, awaiting the Queen’s decision.

And then, as if resigned to her fate, the Queen’s form slumped, her mandibles drooping in a gesture of submission. The conflict within her had subsided, replaced by a begrudging acceptance of her circumstances.

"You won... I’ll do as you ask," The Queen begrudgingly went down to her knees, showing sincerity.

Shinon turned towards Lova and nodded as both of them began stepping away. As they cautiously withdrew from the circle, Shinon watched the Queen, ensuring she remained compliant. Lova released her psychic hold, allowing the eggs to rest undisturbed.

If she accidentally broke any eggs, all hell would break loose, and Lova wasn’t having that.

The Queen remained motionless, her ears fixed on the duo before her. Though weakened and blinded, she retained her regal presence, even in defeat... or so Shinon thought.

The moment the Queen felt her eggs were no longer in imminent danger, her demeanour shifted with cold, calculated precision. Without hesitation, she launched herself at Shinon and Lova, her insectoid limbs moving with swiftness and power that caught them off guard.

"SHIT!"

Shinon’s eyes widened in disbelief as the Queen’s attack unfolded before him. He had underestimated her resolve, her cunning, and now they were paying the price. Despite her psychic abilities fully charged, Lova found herself outmatched against the relentless assault of the Queen.

The Queen’s movements were a blur of speed and deadly precision. She struck with ferocity, her mandibles clamping down on Lova’s broken arm, causing her to cry out in pain. The force of the blow was enough to knock her out for good this time.

"No!" Shinon roared, his heart pounding with a mix of fury and desperation.

He lunged at the Queen, his Blade of Chaos gleaming with a cold, green light. But his attacks, although formidable against lesser foes, seemed feeble and ineffective against the Queen’s armoured exoskeleton.

"Foolish humans, you thought you could win against me? Make me submit after threatening the lives of my children!? Think again!"

The Queen’s mocking laughter echoed through the chamber as she deflected Shinon’s strikes effortlessly. Her voice was filled with triumph, her superiority evident in every movement.

Even then, she didn’t stop taunting Shinon, mocking his foolishness for letting her go, for underestimating her strength and agility.

Desperation fueled Shinon’s determination. He knew he couldn’t let himself be overwhelmed, couldn’t let Lova’s sacrifice be in vain.

He evaded the Queen’s strikes with renewed resolve, using his agility and [Shadow Manipulation] to his advantage. But for every blow he landed, the Queen retaliated with a devastating counterattack. But nothing could have prepared Shinon for what happened next. freёwebnoѵel.com

As Shinon was about to attack again, the Queen grabbed his arms and embraced him awkwardly, and the next moment, a sickening crunch filled the air.

"Argh!"

"Ah... you taste so good!" The Queen smiled, lusciously licking her lips. "I can’t wait to make more of you all for myself!"
