Chapter 258: Chapter 257 - Invasion(Part 23)

Point-of-View: Aurora Pretorius

———————————————————————————

"Th-they really tried to kill me...," Muttered the Demon who’d been leading me to the bridge, a shell-shocked look on his face.

I’d been using my senses to avoid running into any Demons or Devils as much as possible, but as we got closer to the bridge leading back to the living world, it soon became impossible to get any further without running into any of them.

So I changed tactics and decided to head for the bridge in a straight line, regardless of how many obstacles there are. And we ended up running into a pretty large number of Demons.

They tried to kill both me and my guide, and succeeded in killing me once. I then proceeded to destroy them upon resurrection, before they could kill my guide. I’ve now used up five of my nine lives, meaning I can only resurrect four more times.

I was first killed by Vapora, the Aqua Dragon Deity, followed by Geod, the Terra Dragon Deity, that one I’m pretty salty about, but I did beat the shit out of him in retaliation. Satan then killed me, and I’ve died twice after being sent to Hell. On the bright side, I’ve gotten a hell of a lot more powerful now.

Hopefully, enough to overpower Satan and kill him. I’m really pissed off right now, having been stuck here all this time. I’ll fucking destroy him.

"How much further is it?" I asked the Demon, who was still looking pretty stunned.

Guess his own kind trying to kill him knocked him for a loop, he’s clearly in shock. But I don’t have time for this, I need to get back to the living world ASAP!

"Huh? Uh...it’s just a little bit farther up ahead that way," He muttered in response, pointing straight ahead.

"You better be right," I sighed wearily, as I picked him up and shot forward in that direction at top speed.

I’ve more than had my fill of this place, I’m so sick of Demons. My eyes then widened in joy as it came into sight, the massive portal serving as the bridge between Hell and the living world.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Finally, it’s about damn time! I...I can finally leave this rotten place! I’m feeling practically giddy right now, barely able to contain myself.

I came to a halt in front of the breach, a smirk spreading out across my face as a sense of triumph welled up inside me. I then dropped the Demon back down, starting to step towards the portal.

"Ow...," He muttered, as he hit the ground with a thud.

"As I promised, I’ll spare you since you showed me the way here," I remarked, before I headed into the portal, my rage reigniting as I sensed Satan’s Aura.

I began seething as I recalled all the strife I had to go through while in Hell, getting more and more furious. I then unleashed my Aura fully, clenching my fists as I returned to the living world.

I grimaced as he came into sight, feeling a surge of hatred and anger rising up inside me at the sight of him. Ohh, I’m gonna enjoy crushing him, I plan to pay him back with interest for what he put me through.

"Yo. You put me through Hell back there, pun intended. Still, though, I managed to power up quite a bit, so you better say your prayers, asshole. Wait, do Demons even pray? Whatever, doesn’t matter. Either way, you’re fucking dead," I remarked icily, the intensity of my Aura inadvertently spiking sharply as I approached him.

Oh, the Elemental Deities are here too. They better stay out of my way, this bastard is all mine.

"I did not expect that you would be contained for long, but how did you escape so qui-...?" He began with a frown, before I cut him off by zipping forward and slamming my fist square onto the middle of his face.

He got sent flying back at a breakneck speed as my fist slammed onto his face with a devastating impact, a few of his teeth embedded in my fist as I shattered his nose and jaws.

"How can a human be so powerful?" Remarked one of the Dragons in bewilderment, I think the Pyro Dragon Deity, Inferno.

"Tch...," Geod muttered irritably, giving me the stink eye, as was Vapora.

"Stay out of my way, he’s my prey," I warned them, as I picked off the teeth stuck in my fist, using thread-like streaks of dark energy to close up the bleeding spots, as Satan crashed through several buildings like a bullet through paper walls.

Hm, I think my skin is more durable than before, these teeth barely pierced my skin, the damage isn’t much more severe than skin deep. Now, then...

I shot forward while charging up a Negative Blast, as I sensed him starting to get back up...it’s hard to explain, but somehow, being in Hell sharpened my senses immensely.

I raced through the openings in the buildings he’d crashed through, firing the Negative Blast in a sharp, compressed projectile straight at him as he came into sigh. His eyes widened in alarm before my projectile burst through his chest before he could react, eliciting a sharp gasp of pain from him as he stumbled back, coughing out blood.

"You’re gonna die here, I’m more powerful than you are now. Use all the tricks you want, you’ll only be delaying the inevitable," I stated icily.

"Now, I see...I gravely miscalculated. You perished in Hell, didn’t you? The atmosphere there, rich in dark energy, fueled you upon resurrection, boosting your power more than usual...," He grimaced, as his injuries healed instantly, before adding with a dark look in his eyes, "However, I will warn you of this much...do not underestimate me, human..."

Point-of-View: Inoka Fonseka

———————————————————————————

"He’s seriously starved and dehydrated, we should get some food and water ready for him as soon as he wakes up," I surmised with a grimace, as I stepped back with a sigh.

"We really owe him one, it sounds like all of us were fighting losing battles before he saved us," Responded Zoraiz somberly.

"I’m just glad we’ve got our limbs and other injured body parts back, we owe you big time too, Inoka," Chimed in Dieter.

"Yeah, I was kinda panicking when I lost my left leg," Added Petra grimly.

"Same with my eye, I was barely keeping it together," Spoke up Adelmira.

Almost everyone had sustained pretty severe injuries, X most of all, having been lingering on the verge of death. She would’ve died before long if I hadn’t healed her when I did.

We were in the Antarctican base, and I’m just about out of Aura after healing everyone. All of us Outliers except for Aurora were here, along with the three remaining Category 0s, Leonardo, Elise and Neo.

Kiyana, X and Serafine had also survived and been brought here, along with a few dozen other Harmony members. Pretty much every one of them needed healing, and I was already low on Aura from fighting all those Demons and Devils.

I’m pretty much completely drained now, I feel incredibly exhausted and worn out. It hadn’t even been an hour since the Demons began their invasion, and they’re still running wild throughout the world.

What do we do? We may not be too badly outmatched on an individual basis, but we’re severely, drastically outnumbered. Hundreds are probably being killed as we speak.

And to address the elephant in the room...where’s Aurora? Why didn’t Neo bring her here too? Maybe she was winning whatever battle she was fighting? Or instead, could she be...?

No, there’s just no way that could be it. There’s absolutely no way that she’s been killed, like, seven or eight times, especially since she gets more powerful each time she dies and resurrects.

"Hey, you okay?" Came Kiyana’s voice, as I felt a nudge to my side. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm

"Yeah, there’s nothing okay about this situation...we may be safe now, but the battle is still raging on all over the world. By being removed from the equation, we’ve actually made things easier for them," I replied with a grimace.

"Maybe so in the short term, but...what good would it have been if we’d all been killed out there instead?" She pointed out with a raised eyebrow.

"Fair enough, I guess. Still though, we may have survived for now, but...," I responded, before adding with a frown, "...even if we do manage to rest up and recover, will we be able to make a difference afterwards? If I’m being honest...I don’t see things going too differently than how it went for us before..."
