"Damn it...that’s really annoying!" Growled Fenris, firing out slashes at me. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
I leapt away to evade them before firing out a streaky bolt of lightning at him, and as he dodged it, I swung my arm across to change the trajectory of my attack and chase him.
It struck his shoulder and zapped him, eliciting a sharp growl from him as he glared at me. I’ve been keeping my distance and zapping him whenever I get an opening...changing the trajectory of one of my lightning attacks makes it lose a fair bit of both speed and power, but so long as my opponent is in a position that he can’t dodge from, that doesn’t matter.
I can’t knock him out in a single strike like this, but that’s fine, I’ll just slowly and carefully wear him down instead. He was in his Crimson Werewolf form, but I’ve been unleashing powerful bursts of lightning from my body to get him to back away every time he tries to get close.
I’ve been sparring against him for about a minute or so now, to see just how effective training for little over a month with Bastet was. Speaking of whom, he’s around here somewhere, observing this fight and ready to step in if Fenris loses control.
He’s seriously fast and powerful in this form, maybe even more so that Bastet, though his movements aren’t quite as sharp as the Deity’s. In fact, I’d say his moves are a bit sloppier in Crimson Werewolf form than in his normal Werewolf form.
And since it’s the middle of the day right now, this is him at only half his full power, he’ll be twice as powerful during nighttime with a full moon. Still, while he is faster and stronger than I am, I’m keeping up with his movements without any trouble.
All that training paid off, and the longer this goes on for, the more agitated he gets, and as a result, the less sharp his attacks and movements are. I’ll play it safe till he reaches the limit of how long he can maintain the Crimson Werewolf form, and then get in close and try to end this.
I then sprang away as he blasted out a powerful howl from his jaws, before racing in towards me rapidly after firing it, his claws glowing as he shot towards me on all fours.
He abruptly halted and fired out his slashes as I burst out lightning from my body, before ducking low as his slashes closed in on me, flying past the top of my head as I narrowly avoided them. freewebnovёl.ƈom
I then fired out several lightning streaks at him, which he raced away to avoid, heading for a tree. He leapt up as he closed in on it, before I changed the trajectory to chase after him.
He suddenly slammed his feet onto the tree and leapt off of it to dodge my attacks, I tried to change the trajectory of my lightning again, but my streaks dissipated, having lost too much momentum and power to keep going.
Damn it, I can only consistently change the trajectory once, try it twice barely works even half the time at the moment, I need to improve on that. Crap, I don’t have enough time to unleash another burst of lightning before he closes in this time.
Alright then, bring it on...I wasn’t planning on going into close combat this soon, but if that’s what he wants, then I suppose I’ll indulge him. So far, I’ve only been reacting to his speed...now it’s time to keep up with it myself.
I activated Reflex Shock at my maximum output, boosting my speed forty-eight times over, as he closed in on me. He swung his claws at the side of my head, which I blocked by raising my right arm in the way of his forearm, zapping him as I had Electric Coat active.
Oh, wow...I think I’m faster than him right now. Awesome! I then swiftly raised my knee as he began to swing a kick up at me, blunting the force of his kick and blocking it, before I swiftly struck the base of his neck and side of his face with a couple of sharp punches.
Each strike zaps him with electricity, his movements growing slower and slower with every hit, and with him so agitated, his attacks are easy to read and counter.
I ducked as he slashed at my head again, before elbowing him sharply in the ribs and then extending my arm out and hitting his chest with the back of my fist, sending him stumbling back.
I then took a couple of swift steps forward, leapt up with a rapid spin and struck the side of his head with my heel, a trickle of blood running down the side of his jaw as he let out a deep growl.
I drove my fist towards the bottom of his jaw while charging it with lightning...this uppercut should knock him out, time to finish this-...! Huh?
Right before I could strike, he suddenly raised his hand and caught my fist, stopping me in my tracks. I felt the fur on his hand getting singed, and his forearm getting fractured upon impact, but I could only focus on the feral look of rage on his face, sending chills down my spine.
"U-uh, hey, you still in there?" I inquired nervously, as I felt a bead of sweat run down the side of my face.
He responded with a vicious snarl, before raising his right hand with his claws extended, poised to strike my throat...nope!
I quickly burst out lightning from my body, wrenching my fist free from his grip and backing away in a rush, getting as far away from the dust cloud caused by my electric explosion as fast as I could.
Suddenly, he zipped out of the dust cloud and straight towards me, closing in before I could react. I let out a sharp gasp as he grabbed hold of my throat, his claws digging into the sides of my neck before he raised me up and slammed me onto the ground.
I let out a stifled cry of pain as my back crashed onto the ground with immense force, as he opened his jaws, drooling as he leaned down towards me. W-wait, is he trying to eat me!?
As I stared up at him in fear, he suddenly disappeared from sight as I spotted a black blur shooting across from the corner of my eye towards him, knocking him away and wrenching his claws out of the sides of my neck.
"It looks like his rage has overcome him, he is no longer in control."
"Could’ve used your assistance a couple of seconds sooner," I grumbled hoarsely, grimacing as I zapped the bleeding spots on my neck with lightning to close up the wounds.
"Fascinating...I did think he was more powerful when he fought Vapora, but assumed that I had imagined it. It would seem that resisting those feral impulses weakens that form of his somewhat, allowing it to take over unleashes his full power in that form. He will likely be more powerful than some Deities if he in this state during a night with a full moon," Mused Bastet with a look of intrigue, as Fenris shot towards him with a snarl.
As he closed in on Bastet, he sprang up and swung his claws at Bastet’s throat. Bastet responded by forming a barrier wall to block the slash, before his eyes widened in surprise and alarm as Fenris easily shattered his barrier.
No way, Zoraiz and I never managed to do that, we always tried to work around his barriers instead of trying to break them since they’re so tough...and Fenris broke through it with a single hit?
Bastet sprang back as his barrier shattered, Fenris’s claws grazing the area around his chest just below the base of his neck, drawing out a trickle of blood from the Deity.
"Hm, this might be more troublesome than I had anticipated," Muttered Bastet with a frown, before zipping towards Fenris rapidly.
He slashed at Fenris a couple of times with his claws, grazing his right shoulder and the left side of his neck as Fenris narrowly avoided his attacks.
Fenris then began to unleash a howl, before Bastet sprang up and over him using his barriers as stepping stones, dropping down behind him.
Fenris swiftly swung his left foot back at him, as Bastet narrowly evaded getting hit and then grabbed his leg, giving it a sudden tug to pull Fenris off balance.
As he dropped down, Fenris swung his arms out and planted his palms on the ground to keep from crashing down, before swinging his right foot back and across at Bastet’s head, forcing him to let go and spring back.
Fenris then got down on all fours and spun around to face Bastet, chasing after him rapidly. He leapt at the Deity as he closed in on him with a roar, as Bastet evaded off to the side and slammed his knee onto Fenris’s hip as he flew past him.
Fenris let out a yelp before growling and standing up with a menacingly feral look on his face. Bastet grimaced, before zipping towards him and driving the claws on his left hand towards Fenris.
But Fenris didn’t move out of the way, letting Bastet strike the right side of his chest...before his claws pierced in through his skin and flesh, bursting out through Fenris’s back.
Huh? Did he let himself get hit deliberately? But, wh-...? Suddenly, Fenris grabbed Bastet’s arm before he could pull it back out, tightening his grip as he met Bastet’s gaze with a murderous look in his eyes.
"Damn it...," Frowned Bastet warily, as Fenris raised his claws with an ominous glow.
"Not so fast!" Suddenly came Aurora’s voice, as several dark streaks came flying out towards Fenris and wrapped around his limbs and torso before he could react.
Bastet wasted no time as he quickly raised his right arm and grabbed the top of Fenris’s head.
"Now, sleep!" He snapped, before Fenris’s eyes drooped down and his fur changed back to black, losing consciousness as Bastet pulled his left arm out of Fenris’s chest.
"What gives? Knocking him out after he loses control is usually pretty easy," Frowned Aurora, as she took out her phone, probably to call Inoka to heal the hole in Fenris’s chest.
"This is only a guess, but I believe suppressing and resisting the violent, feral urges of this form has made it more powerful. There were also signs of increased intelligence that were not present when he fought Vapora," Remarked Bastet warily.
"Hm...controlling this form might be more difficult than we thought it’d be," Grimaced Aurora, as we stared at Fenris’s unconscious body...
