"A Demon? Are you sure!?" Exclaimed Mike with a grim look on his face, as excruciating screams began ringing out from outside.
"Yeah, I think so, it’s-," Aurora began to respond, before being interrupted as the building we were in suddenly shook, feeling like something had slammed against it.
I peered out the window, to see a truck smashed up against the side of the building, and on the street...was the Fallen Angel from the online clips I’d seen, burning everyone in sight to death with black flames.
Suddenly, his gaze shifted up towards where we were, his eyes narrowing as he raised his hand towards us...and formed a Negative Blast.
"Guys, get down-!" I began to exclaim as I sprang away from the window, right as he fired it out and blasted a hole through the wall the window was on.
Aurora swiftly formed her Shadow Cat shroud and extended out several whip-like streaks to bat away the incoming rubble and shards of glass flying in at us, just barely protecting us from the projectiles...that was way too close.
"What was that!?" Gasped Alexis in alarm, as she got back up on her feet.
"It’s that Fallen Angel, he fired a Negative Blast at us!" I informed them, as a figure rose up outside the hole in the wall, the dust clearing to reveal the black feathered wings and glowing black halo.
"Get behind me, everyone, I’ll-...!" Aurora started to instruct us, when suddenly, I collapsed onto my knees as it felt like my body had become several times heavier.
Aurora began to shakily stand up with a fierce glare, before the Fallen Angel pointed his palm at her...and sent her flying back, crashing through the back wall and falling out of the building as it caved in upon impact. The others were struggling to stand up too, down on their knees...
"That is better. You will kneel before me, Meta-Humans," He remarked as he stepped towards us, before adding, "I am the Demon of the Sin of Pride, my name is Lucifer. Now, then...which of you shall I grant the honor of nourishing me?"
I don’t like the sound of what he’s implying. I felt a chill run down my spine as he locked his gaze onto me, narrowing his eyes before raising his palm in my direction...before I felt myself being rapidly pulled in towards him.
He grabbed me by the throat as I reached him, a tight grip around my neck as I let out a sharp gasp. Huh? My Aura...it’s getting sapped away, what is this? Damn it...stop!
"Let me go, you bastard!" I snapped, as I burst out two sharp spikes of bone from my collarbone, piercing into his wrist and loosening his grip around my neck, before I added with a snarl, "You denizens of Hell are supposed to be weak against the Light Skill, right? Suck on this, asshole!"
I swiftly channeled pure light energy into his body through the bone spikes, forcing him to let go in alarm, wrenching his hand free from my bones and tearing open his wrist as he yanked it back, before stumbling back with a dazed expression on his face, a trickle of blood running down his left nostril as he let out a slight groan.
Damn, I think he stole about half my Aura, a few more seconds and he might have killed me...and let’s just say that I’m not taking too kindly to that. Also, that really hurt, bursting out those bone spikes, there was a stinging pain by the skin around my collarbones.
As the heavy force pushing down on us suddenly wavered, I quickly formed a rapidly spinning, drill-like Blast and fired it at him. He was slow to react, hurriedly moving out of the way, but couldn’t fully evade it, his eyes widening in shock as my attack tore through his left shoulder, nearly severing his arm.
As his injury began to rapidly heal, the immense increase in gravity dissipating, Zoraiz shot forward and grabbed his arm, tearing it off before it could fully heal, and then using it like a club, slamming it onto Lucifer’s face.
"Why, you-!?" He began furiously as he kicked Zoraiz away, before a massive lightning blast burst out from Alexis and sent him flying out through the hole in the wall.
"Let’s go after him and-," Alexis began to suggest.
"No, don’t. You guys were only able to land such heavy blows because he underestimated us and let his guard down. He won’t make the same mistake again," Remarked Mike grimly, as Aurora’s Shadow Cat rapidly expanded outside.
"We can’t just let Aurora fight him alone!" She protested, as I jogged over to Zoraiz and healed him.
"She’s right...Mike, get Dieter back to the RVs, we’ll hold off Lucifer and then retreat when we get an opening," I instructed him, as I shot towards the gap in the wall before he could respond and leapt out, to see Lucifer zipping about in the air, while Aurora sent out dozens of shadowy arms chasing after him.
I further extending out the bone spikes by my collarbones, making it super thin and brittle, before snapping them off and healing my punctured skin, along with smoothing out my collarbones at the spots I’d extended them from.
The air was thick with the sickening odor of burnt corpses, which littered the streets, not even a single living person in sight...some of the shops around were burning too, the flames slowly but surely spreading further and further.
As I landed on top of the truck that had slammed against the building, I formed a sphere filled with several small, concentrated drops of Light Skill: Blast, before pointing it straight up at the air.
"Now, take this, Light Skill: Blast Rain!" I remarked, as I fired the blast up.
Aurora noticed and swiftly began herding Lucifer with her shadowy arms to keep him from straying too far out of the range of my attack, boxing him in and getting him in position...right as my attack reached the peak of its height and exploded, close to a hundred streaks of destructive light blasts raining down from it.
Lucifer noticed and began to zip out of the way, but in the brief instant in which he took his attention off of Aurora’s shadowy arms, she was able to grab his ankles, before several more of her arms latched onto him and held him in place, eliciting a loud yell of pain from him as my blasts rapidly pelted down on his body.
Light Skill attacks weaken and slow down Demons and Fallen Angels, so little by little, with every attack of mine that hits him...the less of a threat he becomes. He screwed up when he picked me to steal Aura from...my raw Aura won’t hurt him, but once I activated my Skill and channeled pure light energy into him using my bone spikes, I basically poisoned him.
Suddenly, the sound of flesh tearing and bones breaking echoed out, as Lucifer deliberately tore apart his own body to free himself from Aurora’s restraints, quickly gaining some distance as he rapidly grew back the ripped off parts of his body, a look of rage on his face.
He then swooped down and landed on the street as he finished healing, his eyes swiftly darting to the left as Zoraiz sprang up to his left and drove his fist towards the side of his head.
Lucifer swiftly spun across and slammed his fist onto Zoraiz’s, a powerful shockwave bursting out upon impact, Zoraiz wincing as his knuckles got fractured, his fist bleeding, before he quickly sprang back as a massive lightning blast came shooting towards Lucifer from behind.
Suddenly, a huge wall of water burst up from behind Lucifer, the lightning blast slamming onto it, the mass of water absorbing the impact with a vicious spark and crackle, as Lucifer suddenly spread out both his arms and fired out a rapid, repelling shockwave, knocking Zoraiz and Alexis away, while I stumbled back and just barely maintained my balance.
"Enough...I shall kill you all!" Snapped Lucifer in a cold fury, before he suddenly turned into a blur, disappearing from my sight.
And then next thing I knew, he was zipping through Aurora’s Shadow Cat, breaking through the dark armor and slamming his knee onto her midsection, literally kicking her out of her shroud and sending her flying back, crashing onto a lamppost with a strangled gasp of pain, a dazed look in her eyes as she slumped down. Crap, did he knock her out!?
There were deep scratches on his sides, she must have dug her claws into him before he kicked her. But he healed those claw marks almost instantly.
I began to form a light blast as he then shifted his attention to me, before he flicked a finger across and sent a wide shard of glass rapidly spinning towards me...and slicing through my bicep, cutting off my right arm as I let out an excruciating gasp of pain, my voice getting stuck in my throat as my vision blurred.
As I collapsed onto my knees in agony, Zoraiz then zipped across and sprang up behind Lucifer with his fist drawn back, but before he could strike, Lucifer swiftly spun around and slammed his foot onto Zoraiz’s abdomen, sending him rapidly zipping back and crashing into a shop with immense force.
Lucifer then raised his hand and rapidly pulled Alexis towards him as she began to fire a lightning blast at him, her blast missing and hitting a signboard as he grabbed her by the neck and slammed her onto the ground. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ
As she coughed out blood and he tightened his grip around her neck, I gritted my teeth as I activated Alleviate to get rid of the pain, stopped the bleeding and raised the stump of my arm towards him, rapidly extending out a long, sharp blade of bone, piercing through his neck.
"Get boned, you son of a bitch," I growled, regretting that line almost instantly as I began to channel my light energy into him, causing him to stiffen up with a look of alarm, before he grabbed the bone and snapped it with a fierce glare.
Before I could react, he suddenly closed in on me in the blink of an eye, and the next thing I knew, I’d been sent flying back as an immense force struck my stomach, coughing out blood as my back slammed onto a pillar painfully.
"At the very least, I shall make sure to kill you, Light user," He remarked icily, as he stomped on my chest, caving in my ribcage as a blinding pain burst out upon impact, blood pouring out of my mouth as I began struggling to breath, barely hanging on to my consciousness.
E-even with Alleviate, this is excruciating, somehow my heart didn’t get damaged, but my lungs are punctured, I can barely breathe anymore...and from the looks of it, he doesn’t plan on giving me a chance to heal myself.
"Now, you die," He stated, as he raised his foot again, positioning it over my head.
"Heh...do your worst, you stupid crow, trash bird," I scoffed weakly, barely able to get the words out as I smirked up at him defiantly, blood pouring out of my mouth.
"I shall enjoy this, you lowly-...huh?" He began as he started to drive his foot down, when suddenly, he abruptly halted as something grabbed him, wrapping around his torso and restraining his leg before he could slam his foot down. ƒrēewebnovel.com
"Hey, you...," Came an icy, enraged voice from behind him, as Aurora rose up, her Shadow Cat forming again, but...it looked darker and more intense than usual, as she remarked as I quickly began healing myself before it was too late, "I’m gonna pop you like a pimple."
And with that, the shadowy arm that was wrapped around his body immensely tightened it’s grip, blood and guts bursting out of his mouth as she squeezed his torso and crushed it...
