"It’s actually the same question you asked me...just what the hell are you...?" Inquired the Demon with a look of fascination, "How can a Meta-Human have such an immense Aura? It’s on par with the likes of high level Vampires, Witches, Archangels and us Demons...so, what in the world are you?"
"Sir, you might want to get out of here. And evacuate everyone else too...none of us here have encountered a Demon before, so we can’t guarantee your safety," Remarked Liling, stepping up and blocking the Demon’s path to let the old man get away.
"Y-yes, I understand!" He responded, running away without hesitation.
"That was kinda rude, you know. I wouldn’t attack a regular human directly for no reason, considering the power gap, that would be nothing but bullying," Laughed the Demon, looking unbothered and calm.
My instincts were screaming at me to either kill him or run away, but I was holding myself back...this Demon is occupying an innocent boy’s body, so I can’t just kill it.
"Hey, how does it make sense that this thing is categorized as a Prime Tier Monster!? The Viciousaurs I faced were so much weaker in comparison!" I snapped, feeling immensely on edge.
"They’re ranked based on average power, not maximum power! The average Demon isn’t this powerful, this one’s especially high level. At least, I think so, based on what I’ve read about them," Explained Kechik with a grimace.
"You all need to relax. Don’t you know that normal humans can’t properly summon a Demon? It takes a Meta-Human or a Demi-Human to properly summon us, since we need a constant external supply of energy to sustain our forms here. That’s why I possessed this body, because I couldn’t sustain my physical form here. My own body is still in Hell, this is just my consciousness you’re seeing," Remarked the Demon with a scoff, "Wow, your level of knowledge about us is pretty basic, huh? Well, it has been a while since we made our presences known in the living world."
"I’m sorry, why are you telling us all this?" Frowned Inoka suspiciously.
"Hm? Oh, no reason. This is my first encounter with Meta-Humans in a few centuries, so I was just feeling a bit chatty. Heh, and besides, it’s not like I can fight properly in this body!" He laughed in a carefree tone, before narrowing his eyes as Inoka, "Woah, hold on, now...that’s a pretty substantial Aura you’ve got yourself. This one’s more immense Aura distracted me, but yours is quite impressive too. Have Meta-Humans grown more powerful or something?"
"Don’t answer him!" Snapped Kechik warily, "Demons love seeking new information, so give him nothing!"
"Wow, that’s petty," Chuckled the Demon.
"Why are you so calm?" I growled, unable to figure him out.
"Huh? Well, because, even if you hurt this body, I myself won’t sustain any damage," He shrugged in response.
"Just why did you posses this boy, anyway?" Inquired Liling with a grimace.
"Oh, because he summoned me. I was surprised to find out that a normal human summoned me, but of course, with no Aura to fuel and sustain my form, his summons was going to fail...so, I compromised and possessed his body! Meta-Humans can easily resist Demonic possession, but normal humans can’t."
"Then everything that’s happened in the last few days has been your doing?" Responded Liling with a frown.
"Yup, that’s right! When I was summoned, I sensed a Demi-Human tribe nearby, so I figured that I could have some fun here. Using some of this boy’s life force, I managed to manifest one of my hands and claws, killed this boy’s two friends before using my claws to scratch up his body, put the blame on the Werewolves and then just sat back and enjoyed the show!
I also took measures to ensure that the villagers wouldn’t be affected by the Werewolves’ Hypnosis technique. So, yeah, the poor doggies didn’t even see the attack coming!" He laughed in amusement, before adding with a smirk, "You can all stop glaring at me like that. I mean, it’s not like you can attack me while I’m in this body, after all! Even if you do kill this body, you won’t inflict even a drop of damage to me. Just relax, let’s chat."
He then walked over and sat on one of the couches, with a carefree look on his face, picking up a cup of tea and taking a deep sip... freёweɓnovel.com
"How did the boy summon you, Demon?" Inquired Liling, keeping a wary eye on him.
"He found out how to do so on the internet. Speaking of which, what a marvelous invention! I was able to find out so, so much about this current era through it!" Grinned the Demon, before adding with a frown, "By the way, I have a name, you know, stop calling me ’Demon’. I won’t answer any more questions if you don’t."
"Fine, what’s your name?" Sighed Liling, looking annoyed...she’s usually so smiley and optimistic, it’s rare seeing her with a serious, and straight-up irritated, expression like this...
"Allow me to introduce myself. I am no ordinary Demon, I am what’s known as a Demon of Sin, one of the seven Demons that are second in power to only Satan himself. Of the Sin of Gluttony, I am Beelzebub," He stated with a bow, a sinister gleam in his eyes.
"No way...why would one of the strongest Demons ever be in a place like this!?" Exclaimed Kechik in alarm, a hint of fear in his eyes.
"Wow, just the mention of my name is enough to scare you? That’s a nice boost to my ego. And I came here by chance...you see, the method used to summon me selects a Demon at random. Techniques to summon a specific Demon have rarely ever been used, so I assume that it’s probably really difficult," He replied with a shrug.
"So, then for a Demon to fully manifest in the living world, they need a Meta or Demi-Human to fuel them with Aura, right?" Inquired Inoka curiously.
"Well, that’s the most common method, but it’s rarely used these days for some reason. There’s another method, but it’s only ever been used twice in history...and that’s when Satan opens a bridge between Hell and the living world. Unfortunately, God will definitely react and intervene if he does that, so he rarely ever does," Sighed Beelzebub wistfully.
I really don’t like this...my instincts are getting harder and harder to resist the longer I feel his presence...
"I think we’ve chatted enough. Leave this body, now," I warned him.
"Why don’t you come and make me?" He smirked in response.
"Easy now, Aurora," Remarked Liling, placing her hands on my shoulders to try and calm me down, before turning to Beelzebub, "But I do agree, that’s enough talk. You’re coming with us to the Werewolf settlement...explain what you did, and hopefully, we can resolve this situation."
"No way, that’s too boring. And besides, they’ll be here tonight to massacre this village, just deal with them when they show up," He shrugged indifferently.
"Hey, isn’t there any way to get him out of this body?" I growled, my body itching to tear him apart.
"Relax, I won’t be able to maintain my hold on this boy for more than a couple more days at most. I’ve used up most of the expendable life force in this body, if I go past that, then it’ll shrivel up, age and die in no time, so I’ll be vacating before that happens. But if he ever tries to summon a Demon again and gets possessed, he’ll die in a matter of minutes," He informed us.
"The way you say that, it’s like you’re suggesting that it’s not your fault that you possessed his body in the first place," Spoke up Inoka.
"I mean, he was the one who summoned me. Let’s see...I’m going through his recent memories...ah, here it is. After finding out about Meta-Humans-...oh, now I get it, you two are those so-called Outliers, right? I skipped this memory of the UN conference since it just seemed like an explanation on the basics of Meta-Humans!" Laughed Beelzebub in amusement.
"Get to the point."
"So impatient. Where was I...right, after finding out about Meta-Humans, this boy wanted powers too, so naturally, he searched the internet. He used multiple different key words, and searched upto twenty pages each time. He did come across several false methods in his search, but eventually, he came across a website detailing how a normal human can summon a Demon. Hm, the method is correct, but there are some lies in that website...hah, ’a summoned Demon will be your loyal slave’...’a summoned Demon will grant you immense power’...what a load of crap!" He chuckled in amusement.
"Whats the URL of the website?" Inquired Kechik with a grimace...Liling looked concerned too.
"Let’s see, uh...hm, not sure how to pronounce that. I’ll spell it out instead...www dot...S-O-A-H-C-Y-H-C-R-A-N-A...dot com. Yeah, that was it."
"Do you think it’s, like, Latin or something?" Frowned Inoka, having typed it out on his phone, "Soach-...no, the c is after the h, so soah cych-...huh, here again. Wait, hold on a sec..."
"What, did you figure it out? If not, stop acting like you do," Said Kechik with a scoff.
"U-uh...I think I figured it out. Try, uh...try reading it backwards," Responded Inoka, holding up the screen with a wry, exasperated smile.
"Backwards? Let’s see, anarchy-...oh. Ohh, shit. Anarchy Chaos...," Kechik read it out as his eyes widened.
"Oh, that masked person, right? They’re responsible? How fascinating...did they deliberately bury the site under several pages of search results? I should tell Satan about this, he might find this all quite amusing, maybe he’ll finally open Hell up to the living world again," Smirked Beelzebub with a look of intrigue, "But, first, I really do want to see how the conflict I stirred up turns out, so I’ll leave after that. Ooh, I really hope Dracula decides to attack that island where those idiots are gathering before I run out of time, I’m quite interested in that too!"
"Wait, so you can confirm that that guy is really Dracula?" Remarked Inoka with a frown.
"Yes, of course. I’ve met him before, fought him to a standstill...asides from the Deities, he may very well be the strongest being in the living world," Came the reply, before Beelzebub shifted his gaze to me with a smirk, "Though, if I had to guess, you might stand a chance of defeating him, I’d say once every ten times or so. You’re only slightly weaker than he is, but he has centuries of experience, while you look like you’ve barely lived two decades. Also, you’ve been glaring at me this whole time, you should relax."
"Can’t help it...your presence triggers my senses and instincts, my body is itching to kill you. The only thing stopping me is the fact that this isn’t your body," I responded with a deep growl.
"Huh...what kind of Skill gives the user such abilities? Ahh, I see, must be an Aberration Skill of some kind. You know, you’d make a great Demon," He remarked, as he stood up and walked over, before placing a hand on my shoulder, "If you’re interested, I can inform Satan of-...woah!"
The moment he touched me, my instincts kicked into overdrive, my body practically moving on its own, as I partially formed my Shadow Cat around my right arm, grabbed him and rapidly extended the arm forward, slamming him onto the wall.
"You had better keep your distance...there’s no telling what might happen to you if I lose control over my instincts," I warned him threateningly.
"I...didn’t even see that coming. Regardless of the fact that this isn’t my own body, still...," He muttered, as a bead of sweat ran down the side of his face, before meeting my gaze with a wry smile, "Congratulations, young lady...you just made a Demon feel real fear, even if it was just for a brief instant. What a terrifying and fascinating creature you are..."
