Chapter 102: Chapter 70: Masters and Apprentices

He’d just chatted with Sean and learned of Lord Blake’s intentions. It seemed that with this appearance, Lord Blake planned to teach them how to reach the upper echelons of the Holy Sanctuary. Kate was ecstatic. He didn’t think Sopea being the first to reach the third level was all that impressive.

’Sopea had gotten by on their own merit, while he had Lord Blake!’

’Don’t they understand the value of connections?’

Once the excitement wore off, it was time to eat.

As Kate ate, he didn’t forget to ask Sean, "How’s the food?"

Sean praised, "It’s very good."

It was the truth.

He’d noticed this pizza place before, back when he was wandering around with Elvire. It was opened by an Alchemist who had been the runner-up in a cooking competition a few years ago. People rarely remember who takes second place in a competition, but this Alchemist had found another way to make all the Wizards remember his name.

The main reason was that the food was genuinely delicious; during the day, the line would stretch down the block.

Normally, the shop closed at ten P.M., but for some reason, it was still open well past midnight.

Just then, the owner himself came over to deliver their dessert, so Sean asked curiously, "Did you change your business hours?"

The owner was a young man. He placed the dessert on the table, pointed to the dark circles under his eyes, and said, "Do I look like I want to be open for business?"

"Then why not close up and get some rest?" Sean asked.

"I had already closed up, but someone called me back, saying there was business," the owner said.

Sean didn’t need to guess who it was. He gave Kate a surprised look. "You have that much pull?"

’They hadn’t ordered that much food, just a meal for two grown men. No one would believe that the owner would crawl out of bed and reopen the shop for such a small amount of money, especially since the place was never short on customers.’

The owner heard this and knew Sean had misunderstood. "Not that kind of business," he said.

The money from two combo meals really wasn’t much.

"Then what was it?" Sean asked, confused. "Did you have something else to discuss?"

"We already finished," the owner said, his face devoid of expression. "The Light Attendant bought my shop."

Sean: "?"

’Kate bought the whole shop just to get a late-night snack??’

"Like I said, a small celebration was in order," Kate said, calmly picking up a napkin to wipe his mouth.

Sean: "..."

’Is this the power of an overbearing CEO?’

After the owner left, Kate pulled out his phone and asked Sean, "Do you mind if I tell my teacher about Lord Blake?"

Sean asked, "You mean Mr. Adelf?"

Kate nodded.

"Go ahead," Sean said. "As long as it’s someone you trust."

"Don’t worry. In all of Alola Town, there’s no one more trustworthy than my teacher." Kate was completely serious when he said this, but the moment he finished, he eagerly called Adelf, not caring whether his teacher was asleep.

He had been dying to tell someone.

Adelf was woken in the middle of the night by the phone. Seeing it was Kate, he was just about to politely chew him out when he heard Kate’s excited voice: "Teacher, Lord Blake has been resurrected!"

Adelf: "Holy shit!"

The vigorous, powerful exclamation carried clearly into Sean’s ears.

Sean: "..."

’Like master, like student.’

On the other end of the line, Adelf was suddenly wide awake. "Did the statue move?" he asked.

"The statue didn’t move. It was something else," Kate replied. "It’s hard to explain right now, but Lord Blake made it clear that he will appear again during our meeting next week."

Adelf: "Excellent! Excellent!"

’Lord Blake is alive and well! There’s hope for the revival of the Era of Polymath!’

"Why wait until next week for something like this?"

Adelf said decisively, "Tomorrow! I’m sending out the notice right now. We’ll hold the meeting tomorrow!"

Sean: "?"

’Whoa, hold on a minute.’

’Since when do they move meetings *earlier*??’ frёeweɓηovel.coɱ
