Chapter 137: Chapter 137: High Performance
Alexander walked down the quiet hallway leading to the campus theater wing, a slow, relaxed stride bringing him straight to the rehearsal room door. When he pushed it open, he didn’t find the two broken, dejected losers he had left at the plaza.
Instead, Ben and Leo were standing there like two faithful recruits waiting for their general, their chests puffed out and massive, incredibly proud grins stretched across their faces. The moment they saw Alexander enter, they practically straightened into a military salute.
"General!" shouted Ben, his chubby face glowing with an absolute, triumphant energy. "Mission accomplished! We adjusted the timing just like you said, and we fucking scored!"
Alexander stopped, letting out a rich, amused laugh as he leaned his back against the doorframe, crossing his arms.
"Already?" asked Alexander, his dark eyes scanning their ecstatic expressions. "I honestly thought you two would struggle for at least a few more days. It seems like those lessons on bravery burned through your thick skulls faster than I expected."
"It was all Ben, seriously... I—I almost ruined it," muttered Leo quickly, his face instantly turning a bright, nervous crimson as he rubbed the back of his neck, completely unable to take the credit. "I started sweating when we approached them near the science building. My voice cracked so bad, Alex."
"Oh, don’t listen to him, coach! Leo was a natural!" interrupted Ben, slapping Leo’s skinny shoulder so hard the guy almost fell over. "You should have seen it! We saw these two freshmen girls looking at the campus map. Instead of rushing them like idiots like we did at the plaza, we waited. We let them look confused for a couple of minutes. Then, I stepped up, completely calm, and gave them the directions to the chemistry lab. And right before they could say thank you, Leo dropped the line!"
"What line did you use, Leo?" asked Alexander, a genuine smirk touching his lips as he enjoyed the pure entertainment of their breakdown.
"I... I just told them that since we saved them from getting lost on campus, the least they could do was save us from having a boring lunch," whispered Leo, his eyes darting to the floor, completely embarrassed yet clearly thrilled. "And... and they actually laughed, Alex! They didn’t look disgusted at all. They said yes."
"They didn’t just say yes, they gave us their numbers!" shouted Ben, pulling out his phone and waving the screen in front of Alexander’s face like it was a gold medal. "Look at that! Regular, real-life female numbers! We are meeting them after the festival rehearsals tonight for coffee. We went from touching Lilly’s massive tits to getting actual dates in less than forty-eight hours. We are fucking legends!"
Alexander shook his head, a low, quiet chuckle escaping his lips. "You’re not legends yet, Ben. You managed to get a phone number from a confused freshman. Don’t go buying a box of condoms just yet; you still have to actually get them into a bed without boring them to death."
"We know, we know," said Leo, swallowing hard as the reality of the upcoming date hit his anxious brain. "That’s why we need you, Alex. What do we do during the coffee? Do we hold their hands? Do we talk about the play?" frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
"Don’t talk about the play unless they ask," stated Alexander, his voice dropping into a calm, authoritative register. "Keep it simple. Listen to what they say, make them laugh, and don’t look like you’re starving for a piece of ass. Women can smell desperation from a mile away."
He uncrossed his arms, glancing back toward the hallway. "Since you two handled your business so fast, I’m cutting you loose for the afternoon. Practice your lines for the festival, and don’t fuck up tonight."
"Where are you going, coach?" asked Ben, blinking in surprise. free𝑤ebnovel.com
"I’m heading over to the library to check on Lilly," stated Alexander, a dark, wicked smirk spreading across his face as he thought about the quiet, empty rows of the archive section. "I honestly thought I’d be stuck here fixing your messy execution for an hour, but since you managed not to fail, I have some free time to go relieve some tension."
"Oh, man... give Lilly our regards!" laughed Ben, a look of pure, respectful envy in his eyes. "Tell her her favorite actors are officially on the market!"
"Go to hell, Ben," muttered Alexander with a chuckle, turning around and walking out of the rehearsal room, leaving his two loyal disciples celebrating their first minor victory while he headed straight toward his next target.
"I’m telling you, Leo, you need to wear the black button-up," Ben’s voice echoed from the rehearsal room, sounding completely deadpan yet intensely focused as Alexander stepped into the corridor. "It hides the sweat stains and makes your shoulders look broader. Trust me on this."
"But it’s missing a button near the collar, Ben!" whispered Leo frantically, his tone dripping with absolute panic. "What if she thinks I’m a slob? What if we go to that cafe near the square and I spill the iced coffee on myself? Oh god, I’m already getting a headache..."
"Then don’t spill it! Just channel your inner Alex, man! Think about Lilly’s tits! Think about victory!"
Alexander let out a low, rich chuckle, shaking his head as their frantic, ridiculous plotting faded down the hallway. He didn’t offer any more advice, nor did he look back. He had given them the spark; how they managed the fire was completely up to them.
He walked briskly across the central courtyard, his long strides effortlessly covering the distance toward the grand, brick architecture of the campus library. The afternoon sun was beginning to dip, casting long, dramatic shadows across the grass.
When he pushed through the heavy glass doors of the building, the sudden, heavy silence of the study area washed over him, accompanied by the familiar, comforting scent of old paper and polished wood.
Alexander navigated through the front rows of tables, his sharp eyes instantly cutting toward the main reception desk. Right there, standing behind the counter, was Lilly. She was wearing her usual oversized cardigan that completely failed to hide the heavy, magnificent bounce of her breasts, her dark hair pinned up loosely as she focused on organizing a massive stack of returned textbooks.
Before Alexander could even take three steps toward her, a familiar figure materialized right next to him from behind a row of bookshelves.
"You’re not actually going to go over there and beg her for forgiveness, right?" asked Marcus, leaning his shoulder against the bookshelf with a sharp, knowing grin.
Alexander paused, his expression remaining completely unbothered as he turned his head to look at his friend.
"Are you a ghost or something?" asked Alexander, his voice a low, mocking whisper that barely carried in the quiet library. "Every time I turn around today, you’re standing right behind me."
