Chapter 37: Commander Leo ?

Everyone waited for him like he was some sort of president about to authorize their country to use nuclear artillery. As good as the experience was, Leo never let it get to his head because he knew the newfound respect was only because he had saved their asses a few days ago.

"You want me to decide?" Leo inquired, trying to get a grasp of the situation in the battle room.

A seemingly scammy man replied quickly, as though he didn’t want anyone else to answer.

"Yes, yes, it’s all in your hands, Commander Leo."

’Commander Leo ? these guys really know how to kiss ass.’

He lowered his gaze to the ground, folded his hands together, as he sank into thought. In his mind, it all came down to one thing. Lord Gara had already played his piece on the board before he died. Now it was Leo’s turn to react.

He rose from his chair, his face hardening into a serious expression.

"I’m just going to get straight to the point," he began. "I don’t care who you are, but if a Breaker kills a Meta Human, I will hunt you down myself."

"What"

"Is he threatening us"

Murmurs erupted throughout the room as people whispered among themselves. Even a toddler could tell Leo’s words weren’t received well, and in some messed-up way, that was exactly what he was aiming for.

"I’m aware of the bad things they committed, but I’m also aware that the reason behind all those things is very sensitive information about—"

"Stop, Leo."

The General interrupted.

He sat in the far corner of the room because he carried guilt in his heart and didn’t want Leo to see him. But somehow, what Leo was about to reveal was more important than keeping up the act.

’Jackpot.’

Leo cheered inwardly. It had been his plan all along. Other than the painful memories, Gara had also left him with something else—a bargaining chip.

That was why, after Leo and the General went to a private meeting, Leo didn’t hold back.

"The citizens of Valoria trust me now. I’d even go as far as to say they trust me more than all of the Breakers."

He took a sip of his chocolate milk before placing the cup back onto the saucer on the white coffee table between them.

"Gara already planted the seeds. All I have to do is tell them about the lives that were lost because of the founder , and hell will break loose in a matter of minutes."

"What do you want, Leo?" the General asked calmly, his hands clasped together as his arms rested on the chair, looking like a final boss.

A smile immediately spread across Leo’s face.

"Simple. I want the Meta Humans to come to the surface."

"What in tarnation?!"

The General’s composed appearance vanished instantly, replaced by a horrified expression that made it obvious how terrible the idea sounded to him.

"That will create an insane imbalance. Besides, didn’t they try to kill us a few days ago? Don’t you think they’ll hold a grudge against you?"

Everything the General said was true. Those were the most likely outcomes of such a decision. The exact reason why eliminating the other species had become the military’s preferred solution— since it completely erased the possibility of future opposition.

But after everything Leo had seen, something had to be done to save the dying race.

Leo stood up.

"Just give me the clearance. Leave the rest to me."

He paused for a moment.

"And if anything goes wrong, I’ll be held responsible." ƒrēewebnovel.com

That last line was the deciding blow.

It was no secret that many of them feared him now, and in their eyes, the worst-case scenario was having no way to control Leo if he ever decided to kill them.

By offering to take responsibility for the Meta Humans, Leo gave them a weakness to hold over him, reassuring them that he wouldn’t turn against them.

A smile appeared on the General’s face.

"Go persuade the Meta Humans to come to the surface first. Then we’ll talk."

"Thanks."

Leo bowed respectfully before leaving the room.

Leo planned on avoiding everyone, so he left headquarters as quickly as possible. After a few minutes of running, he arrived in the desert, home to the entrance of the Floors.

He needed to get to Floor 25, but fighting Floor Beasts wasn’t on his to-do list for the day. He could’ve used whatever method the other subordinates had used to travel between different parts of the city, but he had no idea what it was.

’Oh, I almost forgot about this guy!’

[Don’t forget about the favour we agreed on. ]

The message ended with a smiling emoji, like a bank reminding him about an unpaid loan.

’Yeah, I’m aware. Whatever the hell that favour is!’

[Beginning the transportation process.....]

Blue conjured energy enveloped Leo’s body from head to toe. His entire body vibrated until—

[Teleportation complete.]

He vanished into thin air.

Floor 25 looked exactly as Gara had shown him—a dying world that had been home to the Meta Humans for the past twenty years.

Aisha and Alex were back inside a cave on Floor 25 with several of their highest-ranking officials, discussing how they would move forward.

Suddenly, bright particles gathered in front of them until Leo appeared, his hair glowing white, along with the rest of his body.

The siblings immediately assumed battle stances, fury causing all three of their eyes to turn red.

To them, he was the enemy who had defeated their lord and had now returned to finish what he started.

Leo’s aura was overwhelming. Aisha didn’t even need to activate her Third Eye to tell that he had grown much stronger than before.

Slowly, she lowered her stance and knelt before him.

"Take me as your wife or do with me as you please, but please don’t hurt my people." freewebnovёl.ƈom

She pleaded, deliberately shaking her breasts in an attempt to seduce him.

"Aisha, no!" Alex shouted in disbelief.

She turned to her brother, tears streaming down her face.

"Stop, Alex. There’s nothing we can do. He’s just too powerful."

While they argued, Leo stood completely frozen, utterly speechless.

It was a dream come true: enter a new world, become overpowered, and maybe even get married.

But little did he know that when the opportunity finally came, he’d have to refuse it.

It pained his poor heart just thinking about it.

"Sorry... but I can’t take you."

One of the elderly officials stepped forward.

"Young man, please listen to her. We taught her everything we know. She’s quite skilled in bed."

"Mhm."

Aisha nodded in agreement, innocently shaking her breasts again.

Another red arrow of heartbreak pierced Leo’s mind. He screamed internally, cursing whichever divine being had forced him to let such an opportunity slip away.

’I can’t believe this is actually happening.’

A hypothetical tear rolled down his cheek.

"It’s not that she isn’t beautiful. I’m just not here to kill anyone."

The Meta Humans’ eyes widened. Even Aisha, still kneeling before him, looked stunned.

"What do you say... we bring all of you back to the surface?"
