Chapter 33: An enticing offer for you
Ryle twirled the gun in between his fingers as he said, ’’This whole fiasco led me back to one of my favorite toys I had lost,’’ he whispered, "So as a gesture of appreciation, your man died from the slip of my hands instead of going through some intense torture in his," He pointed his chin at Benjamin, "You should be thankful instead."
Benjamin wanted to cry. Boss, why do you paint me evil like this? Why do you sound so innocent while making me sound like a creep? How is it fair? Why is it hard to do a job these days?
’’You bastard...’’ Si Yena pushed herself to her feet and grabbed his collar.
Ryle’s finger tugged at the trigger and the woman stiffened, fear replacing the fury in her eyes.
The sound of footsteps caught their attention.
Instead of disappearing from the back exit, Daisy strode downstairs calmly.
Si Yena’s eyes were filled with desperation as she looked at Daisy for help. freeweɓnovel.cøm
Daisy’s eyes roamed over the entire scene, her gaze meeting Si Yena’s pleading eyes once before she pulled out her phone and walked past the scene with a look of nonchalance on her face.
Si Yena’s heart chilled. And she said what? Best friends...
Ryle narrowed his eyes and threw the gun back to his driver.
No way could he kill this woman. She broke Dexter’s heart but he seemed to still have some feelings for her even though he pretended otherwise. What if he was heartbroken after her death?
Which cat would want to play with a dead mouse?
With that thought, Ryle followed the guy with rushed footsteps.
Benjamin suddenly felt like he should have died instead of choosing such torment. This world was cruel.
He ordered the bodyguards to drag the crying and screaming Si Yena back to the Si Mansion.
As she was dragged away, the image of her dead lover flashed in Si Yena’s mind, her limpid eyes burned with a thirst for revenge.
Outside the orphanage, Daisy squatted on the road, her stomach churning in sheer discomfort. She clenched her fingers into a tight fist.
Treating someone as her best friend all her life and leaving her there to die was not a decision she ever thought she would make.
When she went to the orphanage today, she had wanted to help Si Yena and her lover but everything changed with the revelations that the woman made.
When her mother hit her younger sister, Daisy was certain that if someone were to kill that woman, she would not try to save her from them. Because in her heart, Diana came first, even before her parents who were never parents to them.
She could have forgiven Si Yena had she not put the people she treasured in danger by dragging them into her schemes.

The more she thought about them, the more terrible she felt for trusting the wrong person.
’’Having a field day on the roadside?"
Daisy frowned when she heard the familiar voice.
’’Mind sharing your beautiful scenery with me?" Ryle squatted beside her.
Daisy turned to look at the man quietly, ’’How much?"
’’Hmm?" Ryle tilted his head and blinked, ’’What how much?"
’’How much would you take to get out of my sight right now?" Daisy repeated, her voice was soft and slightly hoarse but she kept her tone masculine. Years of practice had honed it to perfection.

Ryle choked on his saliva. Did this guy have to humiliate him every time he approached him?
And to think that even after being humiliated, he still approached him.
Ryle was beginning to have doubts about himself.
Did he have some sort of degradation kink?
’How much would you take to get out of my sight right now?’ the question echoed in his mind.
’’One night,’’ Ryle said after some thought.
Daisy instinctively glanced towards his crotch, ’’Are you gay?" Suddenly, she remembered seeing him with various women while she was still working for him. He was a womanizer undoubtedly, ’’Bisexual?" She added after some thought.
"_"
Ryle’s face gradually turned red, ’’You... I am perfectly straight,’’ After giving it a thought, he added, ’’Even if I am gay or bisexual, I won’t be interested in someone like you.’’
Daisy nodded, ’’Then get lost.’’
The only way to talk to this guy was to be willingly humiliated by him? Was there no other choice?
’’Why is it so hard to talk to you?" he groaned. Even his best friend was not this much of a stone.
’’I am just not interested in talking to you,’’ her face screamed ’It is as simple as that’.
Ryle nearly puked blood, ’’Why?’’ What did he do?
People made appointments to talk to him. Shouldn’t this guy be honored that he was willingly trying to talk to him?
’’You are...’’ Daisy pushed herself to her feet as she searched through her vocabulary for the right word, ’’Pushy, annoying, and way too talkative for my liking,’’ If he was not her employer in the past, she would have said these things a long time ago.
As she started walking away, her gaze stopped at the burning Ferrari on the road which surely belonged to him.
Once Ryle recovered from the fresh bout of an insult thrown at his face, he followed her, "You should consider yourself lucky that I talk to you.’’
’Silence’
Ryle’s ears nearly drooped until he heard a soft ’’Why’’ from the front.
He dashed forward quickly, ’’I am not sure.’’ He was not certain why he treated the man rather well. It had more or less something to do with how much of a talented individual he was and Ryle did not want to lose such an asset.
Daisy stopped looking at the car when he misunderstood her question. She was asking why he burned his car. However, she realized that his matters were none of her concern.
’’Stop pestering me.’’
’’You just questioned me which I answered. When did I pester you?" Ryle felt slightly indignant.
Daisy stopped walking as she turned to look at him, ’’Since you already answered, scram,’’ she turned around to walk away.
His jaw ticked. Instead of following her this time, he spoke up, "I have an offer for you.’’
Daisy halted in her tracks for a brief moment before she continued walking.
’’An offer that is going to entice you.’’
’’Oh?" she paused.
Ryle stalked towards her with huge strides, his long legs covering the distance between them in seconds, ’’As you must have figured out from the scene, your previous position is quite empty right now.’’
Daisy nodded, ’’So?"
’’Join the organization again.’’
’’Why would I?" she tilted her head to meet his gaze.
’’Why wouldn’t you?" Ryle questioned.
And that made her pause.
Reasons for not taking that job would be that she never took the same job twice after she left.
And Beijing might be her only lead to Diana and her daughter so she was not willing to leave this place.
As she thought about that, she sighed softly, ’’No thanks. I am not interested in your offer,’’ she walked away without any hesitation, leaving a certain someone behind with a darkening face.
