Chapter 32: Swift death

There was a niggling sensation in Si Yena’s chest. A hint of discomfort enveloped her when she heard the detachment in Daisy’s voice, ’’Daisy...’’

’’If my friendship was a curse for you, our enmity will be a disaster. Stay away from me, Si Yena.’’

’Bang’

The door closed and Si Yena was left in the empty room. Those cold words seemed to be reverberating through the walls, chilling one’s heart.

...

’’Boss, your coffee,’’ Ryle’s secretary handed him the mug with trembling hands as the temperature in the backseat dropped.

’’A bodyguard can be this worrisome as well. Look at us looking for him from place to place while he is fucking his lover at these weird places,’’ Ryle’s lips curled up in a disdainful smirk as he lifted the coffee mug and splashed the content onto the woman’s face.

Benjamin shivered. He had seen his fair share of times when his Boss was unreasonable but at this point, he was dumbstruck.

The secretary panicked as she grabbed a water bottle and splashed it on herself. Her sheer blouse turned transparent but she did not seem to care as she splashed more and more water on her face to cool it down.

’’Dirty,’’ Ryle glanced at the water that had splashed on the car.

He alighted from the car and Benjamin followed the suit while his secretary seemed to be in a daze as she kept washing her face. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm

Ryle grabbed a bottle of gasoline from the car trunk and poured it on the blazing red Ferrari.

Benjamin panicked and pulled the secretary out, just in time as a lighter went off and the car caught fire.

’’Ahhh...’’ the woman screamed when a hot gust of air hit her body.

Without sparing the scene another glance, Ryle strode inside the orphanage.

He had just taken a few steps when he saw someone familiar walking down the stairs.

’Bang’

Ryle shot the man’s knees.

The bodyguard dropped to his knees, his eyes wide with disbelief as he glanced at the man who was stalking towards him.

’’An useless subordinate,’’ Ryle frowned.

Benjamin stepped forward, ’’Boss!" he pointed his finger towards the secretary who was stumbling after them.

The coffee that had splashed on her face was long washed off but some strange red pock marks were growing on her skin, blistering all the way down to her neck.

It did not take the driver long to understand that that coffee was spiked. And Ryle had long seen through it.

’’Shall we play with them for bothering us for so long?" Ryle sighed.

The driver shivered and lowered his head.

’’How about you go grab that Si girl so that we can throw her back into her elite family?" Ryle continued as he gazed at the bodyguard who was writhing at his feet.

’’No!" The man who was shot in both his knees seemed to have been filled with awareness the moment he heard the mention of ’Si Yena’.

’’Such true love strokes my heart...’’ Ryle trailed off.

The orphanage was sealed off by his subordinates. And there were none of the staff or children around to witness what was about to happen to this man because his people had restrained them all.

But there was a shadow lurking behind his people, sleekly moving past their defenses without them noticing.

A flash of silver caught his eyes and Ryle’s gaze narrowed in amusement.

He took out another gun from his waistband and pointed it at the bodyguard’s shoulder but in the last second, the bullet pierced into the bodyguard’s forehead and his body started falling backwards.

The silencer on the gun did not let a single sound escape, ’’My hand slipped. Oops,’’ Ryle threw both the guns to his Benjamin who caught them with dark lines running over his face.

Boss, have a sense of shame, will you? What do you mean by your hand slipped? How can your hand slip into a person’s death?

Benjamin speechlessly glanced at the corpse of the bodyguard before he signaled another man to drag away the secretary who had spiked the coffee.

That woman was a friend of this man who just lost his life but it was still a surprise that she would betray their boss. If he did not guess it wrong, then she was the one who was helping the Young Miss of the Si Family and the bodyguard in escaping repeatedly by disclosing their movements. And Ryle seemed to be aware of it.

Ryle, however, did not place much importance on this matter as he strode towards the stairs.

But all of a sudden, with the flash of a silk gown, a woman rushed down the stairs. His men did not stop her because they recognized her. They had intel about the people they were looking for, one of them was their colleague and the other was the heiress he eloped with, Si Yena.

Si Yena knelt near the body, her face filled with despair.

’’No... No... No no no....!" Si Yena screamed.

Ryle massaged the spot between his brows.

’’How dare you! How could you kill him? He didn’t even do anything wrong. What right do you have to control our lives? Is it wrong to fall in love?"

Ryle’s lips thinned, ’’You do know that I can kill you too, right?" he tilted his head down to look at her.

’’Y-You won’t dare. I am the daughter of the Si....’’ She trailed off when Ryle took the gun back from the driver before he pointed it at her forehead.

’’Your man went behind my back and colluded with rivals to betray my organization, he broke the code of ethics by eloping with his client, he colluded with my secretary to kill me, and he wasted hours of my precious time. I am not some angel incarnate...’’ Ryle sighed as he continued, ’’It’s already a miracle he got himself a swift death. You want to know why?"

Si Yena sat there stunned.
