Chapter 327: Perish together

At some point, Ryle had managed to uproot the glass wall from inside.

With half his hand pushed inside the hole, the glass frame crashed on him without giving him a chance to retract his hand.

’’Hmm?" Si Yena arched a brow as she looked at the man who was covered in big and small injuries from head to toe, ’’He is oddly persistent.’’

Chen Lina sniggered, ’’I would call it foolish...’’ Looking at Daisy’s stoic back, she continued, ’’Going to such an extent for a bastard child...’’ she clicked her tongue.

What she did not was Daisy, who was standing ahead had her fingers curled into a fist. But a moment after Chen Lina spoke, the fist opened and Daisy loosened two of her fingers.

Without the suppression of the glass enclosure, Angel’s loud cries no longer went unheard.

A thick trail of blood flowed down from Ryle’s forehead.

He clutched his head, inhaled a deep breath before wiping off the blood with his sleeve.

The sound of gunshots reverberated in the hall and two clean bullets were aimed at Ryle.

Ryle dropped to his knees. Two clean bullets were lodged into his lower legs.

Si Yena sighed, ’’Don’t you want to take the child?" She spoke to Ryle rather condescending, ’’I know you are sincere to my best friend yet I cannot help but want to test your sincerity a bit further. Since you want to protect the child, crawl to her.’’

Ryle looked up, a hint of a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips as he looked at Si Yena like he was looking at a dead animal.

Then, wordlessly, he grabbed the edge of the glass enclosure and pushed himself to his feet.

A bit unsteady in his movements, he stepped forward. He staggered till he reached the crying child who had backed into a corner.

And once he stood in front of Angel, he dropped to his knees and pulled the little girl into his arms.

And for once, he closed his eyes, feeling the little heartbeats comforting him.

After a while when he opened his eyes, he locked his gaze straight with Si Yena who was glaring daggers at him and the smirk on his face got a little bigger, ’’Jokes on you...’’

The man’s voice was not too loud but even if he was mouthing it, Si Yena heard every word. Her fingers curled around the arm of the chair at the lack of expressions on Ryle’s face.

’’Ah, you only maimed both his legs?" Chen Lina shook her head, ’’What a pity! Shoot all his limbs and let’s see if he can still be so arrogant. And silence the child too. I had given her some sedatives but she somehow managed to be still up and active. As for the man, you can skin him alive and see if he breaks...’’

Three gunshots rang in the mansion. The first bullet pierced in Chen Lina’s forehead, the second in her heart and the third straight into her mouth.

The scene turned into a gory mess. Some of the blood and mangled flesh splattered upon Si Yena who immediately inched away from Chen Lina in disgust.

She looked at Daisy and whined, ’’You should have told me before shooting her. See, you got me all dirty...’’

Daisy looked at Si Yena emotionlessly.

’’What? You expect me to cry over this fool or what?" She laughed, ’’She had been inviting her death since the moment she swung off the child from above. I had seen the first finger hidden in your sleeves right then. I don’t pity fools, Daisy. Moreover, I was merely using her.’’

’’This entire mansion has been installed with bombs. And the mechanism to trigger these bombs is situated on the bottom of the enclosure.’’

Daisy looked towards the bottom surface but it was entirely covered in soft toys. No mechanism was visible.

However, she remembered it.

When the glass enclosure was suspended in the air, only the bottom surface was not made of glass. It was solid black and thicker than all other sides.

’’To make myself more clear, let me tell you how these pressure-activated explosives work. What triggers them and what would make them cause a huge and nice blast. Boom!" Si Yena moved her hand in a dramatic arc.
