Chapter 316: Leaving tonight

"I don’t know how much of it is true. I don’t what of it is true and what is not.’’

Ryle was sitting on the bed, looking up at Daisy who stood in front of him.

Nathan had been pushed beyond his limits and when Ryle revealed that he had found his sister, the man seemed to have gone mad with anger.

However, instead of pushing the matter, he turned around and ran away after giving Ryle empty threats.

And Ryle let him.

"It does not matter,’’ Daisy whispered, ’’Actually, I...’’ she trailed off when she saw the lost look in his eyes.

There were things she wanted to talk to him about but now was not the time.

’’Why did you let him go?" Daisy raised her hand and stroked his hair.

’’He is going to save Si Yena but he would not come back from there.’’

When Daisy looked at him questioningly, Ryle sighed and pulled her onto his lap.

Maria was suspicious from the very beginning, considering the special treatment she received from Si Yena.

So, he had gotten to the bottom of the matter. Years ago, Maria had a single mother who worked in the Kingsley mansion. However, the woman became a prey to Nathan at one point. Once he had her, he kept her captive, tormented her for a long period of time before she died tragically.

"Maria was here for revenge,’’ Daisy furrowed her brows, ’’And her ulterior motives would have been exposed had she not gotten a strong backing."

"Si Yena backed her up,’’ Ryle nodded.

’’But why? Nathan seems to favor her a lot. If she is helping Maria, then that only means she wants him to die,’’ Daisy could not figure out what Si Yena would get out of it.

"He has been with many women, but not all of them had been willing to be with him.’’

Daisy’s heart sank a little as she looked at him.

’’If Si Yena is assisting Maria in dealing with him, then that’s probably what she wants too.’’

They did not have to discuss it further to know that Si Yena had merely been putting on a facade when she got kidnapped by Maria. It was an elaborate plan to lure Nathan into their trap.

It was not easy to get through the powers that Nathan held to harm him so Maria and Si Yena worked together. Si Yena, for some reason, had the confidence to know that he would save her.

But they would never have known that Nathan was vulnerable at that time after having his men dealt with by Ryle. Or there would be no questions to how brutal both the women would have been. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com

One only had to wonder why Si Yena, who seemed to be so pampered by Nathan, was plotting to this extent to kill him.

And Daisy knew who the woman’s next target was going to be.

’’I have dispatched half of my people after them. Even if they are not killed by Maria, they would not make it back alive in any case,’’ As if he could read her mind, Ryle spoke up.

Daisy noticed the way he did not seem to have any intention of harming Maria and she could not help but think back to the times when she had just gotten to know Maria. The woman had mentioned encountering Ryle when her mother used to work here. And even though Ryle did not say anything, but just the fact that he mentioned killing only Nathan and Si Yena revealed his intentions of not harming Maria who did not have an easy childhood as well, the cause being the same man Ryle loathed.

She wanted to say a lot of things but none of those words would probably help heal the scars that the younger Ryle had grown up with.

"In the future...’’ Daisy cupped Ryle’s face and kissed his forehead, ’’you would never be alone again. Never helpless or abandoned."

Ryle had never intended to bring Daisy to this godforsaken place. He had all his plans set in stone and he had departed quietly so he could deal with everything, uproot all the demons of his past so they would never reach her and Angel in their future.

It had never occurred to him that she should be here with him while he did it. His past, no matter how bad, was still in the past. He did not need any consoling words to make him feel better. But Daisy’s words did not even seem like a consolation, rather a promise. And before this moment, Ryle did not even know what such words and actions can do to his heart.

He cupped the back of her head and kissed her till she was breathless.

Ryle flipped her onto the bed and settled between her legs, ’’We are leaving tonight.’’

’’Then, let’s pack...’’ she was surprised by his sudden decision but it made sense. There were unsolved mysteries regarding many things but those mysteries were deemed to remain mysteries because there were no leads left and Nathan and Si Yena were doomed to perish together in the fire they had started.

So, there was no longer any reason for them to stay here.

The heavy feeling that settled in her chest dissipated when the man started nibbling on her neck.

Daisy gripped his hair and he stopped to look at her, ’’I am hungry.’’

’’Me too,’’ Ryle blinked and darted out his tongue to lick her chin, ’’Let me eat my fill first then I would feed you. How does that sound?"

Before Daisy could even register his words, the man captured her lips in a passionate kiss. Yet, instead of going all the, he let her go after teasing her a bit.

"Come, I will take you somewhere,’’ he pulled her up from the bed with a swift motion and held her hand.

When Daisy and Ryle walked out, they were met with the old butler and several servants who stood outside the room at a little distance.

Seeing them, they immediately curtsied before turning to Ryle, ’’Master!’’ They greeted him unanimously.
