Chapter 284: Kiss me

"Hmm? You’re holding the magazine upside down?" she looked at him with a flicker of pity before pouring him a glass of wine. She poured herself another one and sat beside him, crossing her legs. Her actions were poised, and her posture was graceful. Even the simple act of twirling the glass of wine in her hand was emanating grace.

And his mind took him back to the night when she was bent over for him, being taken by him from behind without any grace whatsoever.

For instances during that night, she had been anything but calm. They were equally messed up during the deed, and she had let her mask slip. But the moment it was over, she was back to wearing that mask of calmness she always wore, as if everything was under the control of her thumb.

He didn’t find it funny, but at the same time, he didn’t detest it either. Not as much as he thought he might because he was the same. People like them tried to control everything. And even when they had no control over anything, they still pretended.

"What do you have to discuss?" Lu Xian asked her casually, looking like he was the least bit bothered about it. He picked up the glass of wine and took a sip from it without waiting for her response.

"Nothing. I just brought you here to let you vent."

His movements ceased.

"You haven’t shed a single tear since the beginning."

"Is it strange?" Lu Xian didn’t know why he was indulging in an idle conversation like this with her, but perhaps that’s what they meant when they said humans were creatures like this. Leave them in a dark place for centuries, and they would hold onto the first hand that reached out to them, even if it was mired in thorns.

"It is. Especially when they went ahead and lost their lives without your interference."

The statement made him freeze momentarily. He didn’t turn to look at her and shifted his gaze to the glass of wine in his hand instead.

"Mine died with my interference, yet I couldn’t stop crying for a while. I couldn’t sleep, couldn’t eat, couldn’t get an orgasm. It was freaking painful," she placed her glass of wine on the coffee table, the tip of her fingers idly caressing her veil.

"You killed them." Lu Xian’s words were not a question but a statement this time.

"I burned them," she hummed softly as if she wanted to sing her favorite song. But in the end, she changed her mind and spoke instead, "Alive."

Lu Xian didn’t say anything.

"Even as they were being engulfed in flames, I stood there, waiting for them to realize that they wronged me. When someone is about to die, they think about the best and worst moments of their lives, but I wasn’t there in theirs. They were still so adamant about leaving me cold even when they died."

She paused for a while before speaking, "But well, that’s not the point here."

Lu Xian’s lips twitched.

"My point is, you should cry a bit, maybe. I sent them on their way to hell, and I still couldn’t stop crying. You being so unaffected by it is rather..."

"Weird."

"I don’t care. Nothing here is weirder than us sitting together and sharing sorrows," she shook her head. "I simply feel like you’re being too hard on yourself unless..."

He wordlessly downed the glass of wine, letting her do the talking.

"Unless your way of letting it out is different..."

Lu Xian stiffened, feeling a weight on his body as she inched closer and pushed a leg atop his thighs and then moved to straddle him completely. Her back dipped as she leaned backward and grabbed a small remote from the coffee table. With a single tap of her finger, the only remaining source of light in the room was gone.

The place was pitch black, but Lu Xian’s senses were heightened, probably because of the wine, the darkness, or the woman on top of him. There was a hint of anticipation building in him as he waited.

This feeling hadn’t been there when he met her initially. Maybe a sense of curiosity, but not the inclination he felt in this moment.

Something soft fell on his lap. He reached out to touch it slowly, and as his fingers grazed across the material of the fabric, he knew she had dropped her veil.

Her fingers undid his buttons slowly as she parted her legs wider, rubbing herself against his legs. Her warm breath tickled his mouth every once in a while.

Lu Xian didn’t know what he was getting himself into when he placed his hand on her

back, letting it slide to her hips as he rooted her in place and uttered a soft, "Kiss me."

They had never done it before. Maybe because she wore a veil, or maybe they were

too driven by madness and lust, or maybe both. Maybe neither.

Lu Xian didn’t know what it was, why he had never felt the curiosity to feel how her lips would feel on his before. freёwebnoѵel.com

He stilled for the briefest moment as she leaned in and kissed his lips. It was a soft, feathery kiss, so contrasting to her persona. She seemed to regret it almost instantly as she tried to pull back, but he grabbed the back of her head and pulled her into a fierce kiss, teeth to tongue, lips to lips. He kissed her until their bodies had gone feverish, until she was shaking in his arms, hitting his chest, urging him to stop. He flipped her body onto the couch, released her lips, and climbed between her legs.

Clothes discarded. Their bodies close enough to breach every barrier. His throbbing dick positioned at her entrance.

He leaned in again, his lips against hers as he whispered, "Kiss me again."

And she didn’t disappoint him as she arched her neck and captured his lips in the dark.
