Chapter 270: Crying endlessly

Daisy knew she was so done for. She was so gone. So fucked. She got on her knees for a man, literally, just so he could not hide his emotions from her. And she knew she would go to her death for him. Well.

And she had no complaints. Very well.

But she couldn’t care any less. If it meant the pair of his hazel eyes would sparkle a bit every time she did this, then she could do this everyday. Tell him she would be there whenever he needed her. As if there was even a doubt in that.

"But for now, stop suffering what has yet to happen. I am right here for you when things go wrong. If she is your sister, we cannot let her keep living there all alone by yourself,’’ Daisy sighed, ’’I don’t know how long you intend to stay here at Chen Mansion, how you plan to manage your company or anything about your plans. But we can bring her over here. She can stay with us and things will be better that way and...’’

Daisy’s words were cut off when her wrist was grabbed in a death grip and she was yanked into his embrace, her body crashing against his. She could feel his heart thudding against her face, the sound of it was too rapid, too loud to be ignored.

’’You are a little devil, aren’t you? You fucking know I have fallen for you but you keep making me fall more! Do you want me to die or what?" His voice held part reprimand, part confession but all filled with a love so deep that made him tremble as he uttered those words, his voice shaky and barely above a whisper.

’’I...’’

’’Don’t say a word, princess. Just stay like this,’’ Ryle held her against his chest, not letting her tell him that she did not want love or she did not believe in it or she was not looking for it. Whether or not she needed or wanted it, she was having it.

He was in too deep for Daisy Chen. She was his temptation. His twisted depravity. His sweet salvation.

...

’’There it is... Do you want to try that, little princess?"

Ryle pointed at the cotton candy store in front of them and Angel followed the direction his hand was pointing at. She opened her mouth but after a dull glance, she slumped her head in the crook of his neck, swaying her little legs.

’’Boss, little missy doesn’t seem to be fond of these things,’’ Benjamin remarked from behind.

’’You think I need an eye transplant?" Ryle shot him a calm look.

Benjamin shut his mouth.

Of course, Ryle could also see that Angel was not fond of the amusement park he had brought her to. The little girl slept for an extra hour and Daisy did not want to wake her up so she left with a few soft kisses not knowing that the usually well-behaved child would throw a tantrum when she got up and did not find her mother around.

Initially, Ryle wanted to take Angel to the company to see Daisy. That would serve as his excuse to see her. But she had told him that her schedule was rather packed so he had called Secretary Han to find a gap, only to end up finding none.

Initially, she had visited Elites to see the development of the company and then she had to visit some other branch companies for work.

Hence, to coax Angel, Ryle decided to bring her out to play. After giving it some thought, he brought her to an amusement park. She had liked it when she was younger so he had thought something would amuse her there but this godforsaken amusement park did not seem to hold a candle in her eye.

Not that Ryle was complaining. He felt like the little girl’s preference made rather sense.

Angel’s mommy or amusement park? Easy.

Angel’s mommy. Even he would make the choice with closed eyes. Hence, while he felt helpless, he also realized that the girl’s actions made complete sense.

Sighing, Ryle looked around, ’’What do you want to do, little princess?"

He had initially thought he would be able to make her happy without her help but now that they were already at this point, Ryle had no choice but to turn to her.

Angel tilted her head to look at him, her eyes sparkling, ’’Mommy...’’

Hearing that, Ryle’s eyes sparkled a bit too, ’’Contact Secretary Han and find where they are right now. Tell him I am worried because Angel is crying endlessly, wanting to see Daisy.’’ frёeweɓηovel.coɱ

Benjamin peeked at Angel who was giggling and playing with Ryle’s hair. He then looked at Ryle who was looking at the girl smilingly. And supposed tears and worry were nowhere in sight.

Benjamin felt a deep sense of sympathy towards Daisy. Whether he liked to admit it or not, his boss was a fox.

Hence, Daisy had just reached Chen Corporations after her meeting when Secretary Han came knocking at her office door.

’’Come in.’’

’’President, you were in a meeting earlier so I could not contact you but Mr. Harper is on his way here with little miss. They informed me half an hour ago.’’

Daisy closed the file in her hand.

’’Everything is alright but according to Mr. Harper’s subordinate, little missy has been crying endlessly since she woke up and Mr. Harper is at his wits’ end. They even went to the amusement park to coax her but she...’’

He had yet to finish his words when there was a single knock on the door before the door was pushed open.

Ryle strode inside the office room with Angel in his arms, both the people seeming to be as fresh as blooming daisies at the sight of Daisy.

Secretary Han’s lips twitched but he refrained his expressions, greeted Ryle and excused himself. As he stepped out, he was met with Benjamin whose expressions mirrored his. And both the men exchanged a helpless gaze before Secretary Han led him to the waiting area.

"She cried a lot,’’ Ryle said when Daisy continued glancing at him silently.
