Chapter 220: An angelic love rival?

"Yes, he did help me out yesterday," Daisy smiled, "I will find a chance to thank him properly."

"There is no need."

Silence descended in the living room as everyone turned to look at Ryle.

"Hmm?" Daisy raised a brow. frёeωebɳovel.com

"I mean... Just tell me who you want to thank. I will thank them all on your behalf. You are way too busy for these hassles anyway," Ryle laughed like a person with all good intentions only.

Daisy’s eyes softened.

If only Diana did not see those two distinct devil horns on his head, she would have fallen for it too, "You talk like you are too idle, CEO Harper."

Seeing that they were about to start bickering again, Daisy interjected, "Why don’t I see Elias with you?"

Maxim’s and Diana’s child was named Elias and the name was specifically given by Maxim under everyone’s constant urging. The man wanted to let Diana do it but after a round of ’little bun’, ’little meat’, ’fluffball’, ’little pompom’, everyone believed that it was safe to let Maxim do it.

And Diana also felt the same. If the child grew up to resent her for the bizarre name she might choose for him then she might not know where to cry.

Hence, Maxim, who had named Angel, took it upon himself and named the baby Elias.

"Oh, that’s what I was about to say," Diana smiled brightly, "You don’t need to wait for a chance to thank Logan. He is here with us too. Elias is with him."

Daisy was surprised, "Why don’t I see them?"

Diana waved her hand, "You don’t know him right? He has always been a busy person, even when he was in LA. You can ask Ivy about it."

"Yes, yes," Ivy nodded, "We stayed at the same place but I barely saw Sir Logan’s face. He seemed to always have something on. It wasn’t until Dee and Angel moved in with us did he spend some more time in the mansion because more people meant some more arrangements that needed him," she shrugged.

"Nowadays, he seems even busier than before. It is hard to even catch a glimpse of him," Diana shook her head, "But since he came over to the main mansion yesterday, we managed to drag him here with us. He is in the garden with Eli, probably on a business call."

Daisy nodded in understanding. Since the garden area around the Chen Mansion was rather enormous, it was normal that she didn’t notice them on their way.

After Diana gave birth, they had shifted to the main mansion of the Qins. Later, Maxim went to LA in case he had any emergency cases to take over in the hospital, otherwise he mostly stayed in Beijing with Diana and their son.

That made Daisy quite relieved too. The postpartum period was not an easy feat in any way. And she wanted to be by Diana’s side if not for her responsibilities in the Chen Corporations.

So, it was a relief that she was staying at the Qin Mansion where Maxim’s mother, his grandfather and everyone else was around.

While they were talking, the butler made the necessary arrangements for the lunch.

At that time, Logan entered the mansion after finishing his phone call. One one arm, he held the small baby boy who was wrapped in layers of white fur coat, with only his little face peeking out. A hint of snow had gathered in the baby’s brow, making him look like an adorable little pup.

Logan put his phone inside his pocket and greeted Daisy formally, "President Chen."

Daisy nodded, "Mr. Qin," Although the man was the heir who was being personally trained by the current Master of the Qin family, the Qins remained highly mysterious in their business and ways of working.

Whether Logan had taken over his uncle’s position as the CEO or not was not declared to the public yet hence Daisy addressed him with what deemed fit.

Both of them seemed to be people of few words and even the expressions on their faces mirrored each other’s.

"I didn’t get the chance to thank you properly yesterday yet. Now that you are here, it’s good that I get a chance to be hospitable to you."

"There is no need for that. We are a family so I did what I should."

Even their tones were similar as if they were talking about the impending downfalls of their kingdom.

Diana tried to endure it but being the person she was, she could not help when goosebumps broke out in her body, "Guys, it’s good to know that you still remember that we are a family."

She put her hands on her hips and glanced at both the people, who turned to look at her.

They were visibly a tad bit confused too.

Diana felt like her words were useless. Why were these big shots so dense?

"Since you know you are family, treat each other as one."

Everyone turned to look at Maxim who had his hand resting on his fist as he sat on the couch, his gaze still fixed on Diana. As if there was nothing else in the world that deserved his attention.

Diana nodded vehemently when she heard his words, "That’s right. Don’t be so formal with each other. It feels too stiff," she grumbled and fell back by Maxim’s side who immediately wrapped his arm around her waist.

All this time, the only person who had not gotten involved in this discussion was Ryle.

From the very moment Logan entered the scene and looked at Daisy and even greeted her, he was intent on staring at the man.

This was not the first time he came across this person. He had encountered him quite a few times when he used to work for Maxim back in Los Angeles.

But this was the first time he was scanning this man from the prospect of a love rival. He looked too angelic. And he seemed exactly the kind of man who would use a beauty trap to seduce women over.
