Chapter 219: Just call me brother ’in-law’

Ryle was determined to ignore these mortals and focus on his matters a little more but Diana’s words sent a little danger alarm in his head. It was as if he did not respond on time, he would cause himself some harm.

As his survival instincts kicked in, he pulled himself out of his delusions and glanced at her, "What child?" He felt like there was something absolutely wrong with her words but since he was a bit muddleheaded, he could not pinpoint what exactly was wrong.

"You seem good with kids so you must have experience," Fixing the collar of Diana’s fur jacket, Maxim spoke up calmly, "And to have so much experience, you must have a child. So, where... is that child?"

"_" This bastard...

Ryle squinted, "Nonsense! You, of all people, should know about how chaste I am."

Maxim gauged the man from head to toe, "Precisely that’s why," he nodded.

Ryle was stumped. Fine, he was not a chaste person but... "Don’t you think you should have known if I was hiding a child?"

When the couple continued staring at him suspiciously, Ryle cursed under his breath. These two were definitely in cahoots. Since they saw that it was a peaceful day, they stepped out to stir some chaos.

But he was a happy man. What did he do to deserve this?

Ryle was apprehensive. It hasn’t been long since Daisy became his girlfriend. If his girlfriend believed these bastards then he would... he would...

His thoughts trailed off when he felt a gentle tap on his forearm.

He turned to his side and looked at Daisy who had pressed her lips together as she tried to stifle her laughter.

Ryle blinked.

After a moment, Daisy cleared her throat, "Why are you so worked up? They are joking."

"Eh..." Ryle blinked a few more times again, "You trust me?"

Looking at his silly face, Daisy was stumped for a few seconds. He seemed more of a husky in that moment, one who was seeking praise from her.

Her lips curved up instinctively, "Of course," How many years has she been by his side? She knew him like the back of his hand.

As for the matter of trust... If she had her eyes closed and he approached her with a dagger, she would believe that her hands must be tied with a rope. And he... was trying to free her of them.

Perhaps he made it so easy to trust him. Or perhaps she was wholeheartedly willing to trust him.

Both of them who had their eyes locked seemed to have fallen into a trance until there was a small sound.

Daisy turned to Diana who had been holding her phone, slightly tilted backwards.

"What are you doing?"

"Ehehe..." Diana waved her hand, "Nothing," she rubbed her nose. She would never admit the purpose of clicking the picture until it was accomplished.

Unlike Daisy, Ryle was the least bit bothered by getting his picture clicked. He even rolled her eyes, "Take it as a favor that your camera is blessed."

Maxim’s eyes darkened, "Her camera doesn’t need to be blessed with your face," With that, he managed to get hold of Diana’s phone.

But before he could delete it, she stood on her tiptoes and whispered something to him. And the man’s darkened expressions gradually faded like passing clouds, a look of understanding dawning in his eyes. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm

The way he looked at Ryle also changed a bit.

Ryle’s scalp tingled.

Daisy cleared her throat, knowing that this was not going anywhere good.

But before she could try to interrupt them, Ivy came out of the kitchen, The lunch is ready. Once Daisy is..." when her gaze landed on Daisy and Ryle, her eyes lit up, "You guys are back already?"

Daisy nodded, "You cooked today? And you didn’t go to work?"

Ivy rubbed the back of her neck as she approached them, "COO Astor called me in the morning. Since most of the renovation work is going on, he said I can just stay at home and focus on my ideas instead of rushing there."

She was still intending to go but then later, Diana and Maxim showed up. Since Daisy was not around, she just stayed back to catch up with them.

"As for the lunch, Dee and I made it today," Ivy chirped.

"I trust your cooking skills, Ivy but are you sure the food is consumable today?" Ryle gave Diana a pointed look before turning to look at Ivy.

Ivy was speechless, "Ah... That.. Dee’s cooking skill has gotten better."

"Maxim is my fiance, Daisy is my sister, Angel is my niece and Ivy is my friend. They all will happily consume everything I cook. As for you... You can starve," Diana glared at the man.

"You... Is that how you talk to your elders?" Ryle narrowed his eyes.

"Hah? You? My elder?" Diana scanned him from head to toe before she nodded, "Fine then, why don’t I start addressing you as my Uncle then?"

"No need," Ryle smiled kindly, "You can just call me Brother,"-in-law will be added in near future.

Diana squinted at the man, "You..."

"Enough. Are you guys 5?" Daisy pinched her brows before she shot a look at Ryle and then at Diana.

Diana cleared her throat and changed the topic as they all walked in, "You said yesterday’s incident was nothing and you didn’t elaborate much about what happened..."

Suddenly, Daisy was reminded of what caused her to not elaborate things.

Ryle was on top of her. His fingers were buried inside her while she was on the call and he was doing and saying all sorts of nasty things that seemed to be turning her on like hell... free𝑤ebnovel.com

Daisy’s face flushed at the thought of it.

"...But it’s good that Logan told us about it."

Logan was there at the party and he indeed helped Daisy out of that tricky situation but he could not have expected that even after he left, those people did not give up.
