Chapter 123: Do it, sweetheart

Aunty Lu sighed.

Young people.

She shook her head and proceeded to cover the food but the sound of approaching footsteps made her raise her head.

The person who had entered the mansion was Locke and his gaze was wandering around, seemingly looking for Ryle. But he did not see the man anymore and his gaze landed on the woman near the dining table.

He froze.

The woman recovered from her daze and quickly retreated to her room, her face pale.

...

Children who played around for the whole day would fall asleep when out of exhaustion.

But Daisy did not know where her little powerhouse got her energy from. She was initially sleepy but after eating her food, she seemed active again even though her eyes almost resembled soaked almonds and she could barely open them properly. But she still refused to close them.

Daisy was slightly hungry too.

But she knew that if she went out, the little one would bolt out to play again so she just pulled the girl into her arms and turned all the lights off before she pretended to sleep along with her.

After kicking around her limbs in an attempt to revolt for around 15 minutes, Angel’s movements finally ceased.

Daisy did not realize when her eyes also grew heavy as she started slipping into slumber. But in the darkness, the sound of light footsteps stirred her awake.

She was immediately alert.

Out of instinct, she slowly moved her hand under the pillow, touching the cold metal of the gun that she had kept under. A gun that she always kept under her pillow.

Her mind raced with myriads of possibilities of what or who it could be. Nobody in this mansion would enter the room so stealthily.

Daisy’s grip on the gun tightened but suddenly the person bent their body and hovered atop her. Immediately, a familiar scent assaulted her nostrils.

Daisy’s fingers that were tightly wrapped around the gun dropped loosened.

A hand was placed under her neck, and her back arched instinctively as the person placed another hand on the back of her thighs and lifted her in a princess carry.

’’What...’’ Daisy still opened her mouth to express her discontent but she was interrupted.

’’Shh... Let’s fight outside,’’ Ryle whispered, ’’Let the little princess sleep,’’ With that, he swung his arms upwards till Daisy slammed straight into his chest, closing any gaps that were between them.

Ryle bent forward and turned on the dim lights in the room, glanced at Angel who was sleeping peacefully tucked in the blankets before he walked out of his room with the woman in his arms.

Still, with a frown on his face, Daisy wrapped her arms around his neck, concerned that he might drop her to the floor if his mood worsened suddenly.

Unaware of her precautionary measures, Ryle’s eyes twinkled slightly and he held her tighter.

Ryle walked her towards the end of the hallway and took a few turns. Before Daisy realized it, they were standing in front of an elevator. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓

In fact, Ryle’s mansion was too big for an alone person like him to live in. However, most of the rooms were locked and were like stand-in store rooms. And even though it had been some time since Daisy moved here, she did not try to explore the place.

’’Where are we going?" Daisy could not help but question. From the glass, she could see the beautiful night sky as the elevator moved up.

Having seen the outer layout of Ryle’s extravagant mansion, Daisy knew the glass should be appearing translucent and foggy at this hour. If one looked very keenly, they could only be able to see vague silhouettes. But from inside, one was able to see everything.

’’To fight properly.’’

Daisy looked at the man when she heard the teasing intent in his tone. She then turned her face to the side without saying anything to him.

When the man went silent, Daisy struggled in his arms, ’’Put me down. I can walk.’’

Ryle walked out of the elevator as the doors opened, still holding her tight, ’’If I don’t put you down, what are you going to do?" the man eyed her cockily.

If one had to describe the mood that Ryle was in at that moment, his mood should be named as ’push all the buttons of Daisy Chen without any miss like a masochist’.

’’I will break your hands,’’ Daisy warned, her gaze cold.

’’Do it, sweetheart. You think I am going to stop you?" Ryle said cheekily and he even had the audacity to wink when she gaped at him in disbelief.

Daisy would not have blinked twice before doing it had it been before.

But now, she felt like her hands were just tied with some invisible rope.

When they stepped out onto the terrace, a soft breeze caressed her face.

And when Daisy stopped arguing with Ryle, her attention finally landed on the place around her.

There was a huge swimming pool in the place accompanied by a vast stretch of a garden area in the distance. The fragrance of exotic flowers lingered in the air, exuding a pleasant aura. It was strong and soothing, but not overpowering.

For the umpteenth time in her life, Daisy realized that she had undermined the lavishness of Ryle’s mansion.

Ryle walked around the swimming pool. The place was so dark that the reflection of the night sky could be seen in the clear water, and the moonlight softly illuminated the terrace.

When Ryle placed her down on her feet, Daisy immediately retreated a few steps from him, keeping a small distance between them.

Ryle seemed rather unbothered though. He pulled out his phone from his pocket and pressed some keys and Daisy watched as a trail of warm white lights lit up in a row, lightening up the dark place and making it appear even more dazzling.

Ryle walked past her and pulled a chair out.

When she turned around, her gaze landed on the round table that was set with two chairs.
