Chapter 264: Step Forwards
(Check out the sequel to this book, I have recently started writing. "My CEO Boss Is A Masked Internet Sensation.)
"That was quite a surprise you pulled. I wanted to scream so loud." Huria was comfortably nestled in Rais’s lap, while his lips traced her jawline.
"You did, babe," he chuckled, "Were you expecting it at the back of your mind?"
"Definitely not that day, I was all focused on catching that bouquet," she told him while twirling the ring on her finger. She still couldn’t believe he had proposed to her.
"So what do you think? When are you officially becoming my wife? I can’t wait any longer to be with you," Rais kissed the edge of her jaw, making her turn to him.
As much as she loved him and was excited to become his wife, he still had to introduce her to his mother. Huria had met his father and brothers, they were welcoming towards her so she wondered why he never took her to meet Mrs Lawlight.
"Once I meet your mother and have her blessing, then we can get married the next day. I have no qualms." Rais’s lips paused on her neck where he had been kissing her at the mention of his mother and she felt his body tensing up.
He sighed, "I have been dreading when you will bring that up. You see, she is a very traditional type of woman. We don’t see eye to eye with her choices. It’s better if you meet her only at our wedding."
Huria completely turned so that now she was straddling him, her hands holding his face as she spoke with determination.
"We will do this right, Rais. She should be onboard and even if she is not we will have to try at least. So let me meet her. Please," Huria solemnly requested, her thumbs brushing his cheeks.
Rais knew his mother would never accept Huria. She was all about status and high society. Although Huria’s family was rich, Huria was a self-made woman and didn’t fit in with the kind of girls his mother preferred.
He wanted to protect Huria as much as he could. Deep down he knew why he had fallen so hard for this woman in his arms. She was completely opposite of his mother and all that she stood for.
"Ready to be disappointed and I apologise in advance for anything she might say."
Huria smiled at his apprehensions and pouty face. She leaned in and slowly kissed his lips before saying.
"I can handle anything, you know that. Let’s do this."
Every thought of his mother evaporated from his brain as Huria’s soft lips caressed his. Rais’s right hand wove into her soft brown hair and he soon had her sprawled on his work desk.
The staff had gone home since it was way past the working hours, only these two starved souls remained behind. His left hand had made its way inside her panties circling her clit and soon was buried in her pooling wetness, flicking in and out.
Huria’s eyes rolled inside their sockets while her toes curled from the sensation that his finger brought.
"Raisss!" Soon her slow moans were echoing in his office as he drove her into realms of pleasure.

Lawrence and Mawar were working late in the office. With Zyair and Skyla on their honeymoon, they had extra duties in the company.
It was almost 10 pm when they got free.
"I will drop you off," Lawrence told her. No way was he going to let her go home alone.
"Can we grab something to eat on the way? I am starving," Mawar requested, hopping in the passenger seat with him as he held the door open for her.
"What do you want to eat?" Lawrence started the car, bringing the car to life and off they went.
Mawar fastened her seatbelt and said, "Can we have burritos? I have been craving them lately."
"I just know the place, let’s go."
They arrived outside the joint and Lawrence ordered two burritos. They sat talking and discussed the sales and marketing strategies. freёwebnovel.com
Their burritos arrived with tins of soft drinks.
Mawar took small bites, enjoying the meaty flavour. Lawrence had turned towards Mawar and was watching her with a hint of a smile. A dab of Salsa dribbled down her chin
Without thinking he leaned in and swiped it with his thumb, making Mawar halt. Bringing the thumb to his mouth he licked it, Mawar blushed strawberry red at his action and averted her gaze.
"You look cute when you shy away," Lawrence teased, seeing her cheeks changing their shade.
She turned to him and bit her lip, "You noticed that?"
"Yes, I notice a lot of things about you. Like how you play with your hands when nervous, and the way you change your hair colour depending on the mood or what goes on with your favourite characters." Their gazes were glued on each other now, Burritos in their hands lay forgotten.
"I like how loyal and sincere you are and your humour always puts a smile on my face. Thank you for being an amazing friend." Mawar complimented him too. Finally lowering her gaze she focused on the half-eaten Burrito in her hand.
Lawrence blushed a little as well at being complimented like that.
"Mawar, would you like to go on a date with your friend and see if we can take it a step ahead." Lawrence carefully crafted his words so as not to spook her. He crossed his fingers and hoped she wouldn’t straightforwardly reject him.
"I would like that very much," she answered with a shy smile, still not meeting his eyes.
His heart did a happy flip inside his chest, his lips spread out in a wide grin displaying his clean teeth.
"Saturday, 8 pm, I will pick you up," he blurted out and Mawar couldn’t hide her elation. Both of them reluctantly gazed at each other again and then burst out laughing.
"I will be ready," she quietly murmured but could feel this turning into something beautiful.

Erdith was to fly back home the next day. She was on tenterhooks, holding her mobile phone in her hand and contemplating whether to dial that number or not.
She whirled the phone between her thumb and index finger, took out his contact and stared at it for a while.
Beats of her heart would become irregular every time she brought her thumb closer to the call button and then she would chicken out.
’I can’t just leave without saying goodbye.
What harm can another round do?’ She contemplated.
’Yeah! He didn’t even acknowledge your existence at the wedding,’ her brain answered.
’He was busy, he had very important duties,’ she defended him.
’Why are you defending him?’ Her brain demanded.
’Because I want to fuck him.’ Her heart and mind were in constant tug of war.
Throwing her hands in the air she let out a frustrated sigh.
"Fuck it!" Grabbing her phone she hit the call button and held her breath as it rang.
He picked up on the third ring and his gruff voice filtered through. Her core instantly clenched so tightly that it pained.
"Hello!"
"H–hey! It’s me, Erdith. I w—was wondering if you could come over. I am leaving tomorrow."
The wait was long and heavy, it raked on her nerves. Her heartbeat wouldn’t stabilise as it drummed in her ears.
"See you in half an hour." Simple and straightforward answer. The call went dead and Erdith was left staring at the phone with a stupid smile on her face.
