Chapter 260: Down By The Lake Side
Huria had her hands clasping her mouth which was hanging open like a catfish out of water. Her eyes like an owl’s, enlarged to the maximum and she hollered like the typical Huria she was making others cackle too. freewebnσvel.cѳm
"Is this real? Or are you guys playing a trick on me?" She screamed while jumping up and down. ƒгeewёbnovel.com
Zyair had joined Skyla on the stage again, his both arms coiled around her waist. Skyla slowly asked in a slightly amused voice.
"You knew?"
"Of course! I was the one who gave him the ideas of how to go about it," he cooed in her ear as both of them watched the couple in front of them with satisfied smiles.
"It’s real," Rais assured, expectantly staring at her. His heart palpitated.
Lawrence, Mawar, Erdith and the guests held their breaths with keen interest waiting for Huria’s answer.
"Yes, a million times yes. No, a trillion times, I don’t know what comes after a trillion," she shouted like a mad woman and flung herself towards Rais, who quickly stood up and caught her in his safe arms.
She plastered her lips onto his, kissing him like there was no tomorrow, he returned her passion while the crowd roared in approval.
"I never thought I would see the day," Skyla murmured to Zyair, "Rais really changed her in the most unexpected ways."
Amidst claps and cheers a very content Rais put the ring on a very excited Huria’s finger, declaring their engagement.
"Bring out the champagne, let’s celebrate," Zyair ordered, letting go of his wife as he saw an over-excited Huria skipping towards them.
"Look at my ring, Sky. I am engaged." Happiness dripped from every inch of her face as she shoved the back of her hand in front of Skyla and wriggled her fingers.
"Wow, it’s beautiful and you deserve it and so much more," Skyla told her while holding her hand. Mawar and Erdith joined them too, excited to see the ring.
"Congratulations! It’s so elegant," Erdith happily commented, inspecting the ring.
"We need to dance to celebrate this." Mawar picked up champagne flutes and offered them to the girls as they moved to the dance floor.
Skyla saw Rais and she stepped towards him while the girls began to dance to the upbeat music.
"Congratulations! That was quite a surprise," Skyla smiled, extending her felicitations.
"Thanks! I had been planning for a while now and thought this was the best opportunity," Rais answered and Skyla could sense his elation.
"She can be a handful at times but I know you are the one who can keep her in line. If you ever need help just reach out to me," Skyla reassured him and he agreed with a reverent nod.
"Big sis, congratulations." Lawrence gave Huria a big hug. Huria showed him her ring as they separated.
"Get ready for another wedding now," Huria excitedly announced to him.
Rais came from behind her and wrapped his arms around Huria’s waist, bringing her closer so they could dance together.
"It’s going to be soon." Rais added, placing a tender kiss on Huria’s cheek. Cheers went around the group at the news.
Soon Lawrence was dancing with Mawar, Huria with Rais and Skyla and Zyair were lost in each other’s arms. Erdith was slightly feeling left out. If only Kail was there and would dance with her.
After the dance, everyone gathered around for the photo session in front of the vast serene lake and the Camellia trees.
The photographer took solo pictures of Skyla and Zyair and then of them as a couple. Skyla and her bridesmaids had their own photo session as well with little Cherry in the center. Finally, everyone gathered for the group photo with the bride and groom. Some wanted individual pictures and the wedded couple was more than happy to oblige.
Sitting near the lake with lanterns hanging from the strings to light up the beautiful garden they had gotten married into, everyone had an early scrumptious dinner and the three-layered wedding cake. The wine flowed in abundance and everyone loved the quality of the food.
Skyla preferred to sit by the lakeside, her flowing gown was spread all around her as her satisfied eyes stared at the calm water surface, which was occasionally disturbed by a stray leaf falling in it from the trees nearby.
Zyair brought a plate of red velvet cake for her and squatted by her side, extending the plate to her.
"Here, my love." Skyla took it from him with gratitude and took a bite of the soft creamy goodness.
"It’s delicious, try some." She offered a spoonful to him and he graciously accepted, letting her feed him.
"It is." Zyair placed his robust arm around her shoulder and Skyla leaned on his. They sat there for a while enjoying the peace of their wedding day while Kail and Lawrence loaded all their gifts in the car.
Zyair had not revealed their honeymoon plans to Skyla until now. So she asked while putting the last of her cake into her mouth.
"What’s our plan?"
Zyair peeled his eyes off the smooth lake and dipped his head. A dazzling smile appeared on his fuller lips. His eyes stayed on his wedding band, somehow he couldn’t stop staring at the piece of jewellery with such profound meaning.
"We will head over to Mom’s place from here so you can change and then we will be leaving for our honeymoon. On our return, we will be living in your villa. We can’t go back to my apartment, that’s not a safe place. I know you will need your own place so I have set up the villa."
Skyla leaned her head further on his shoulder, this man always knew the right steps to take that’s why she blindly placed her trust in him.
"Thank you, Zy for being the best husband. I love you." Her voice slightly trembled from the bundles of emotions.
"Anything for my girl." A tender kiss he placed again in her well-styled hair. They sat there in each other’s company until it was time to leave.
Both of them personally thanked every guest who had arrived to attend their wedding, shaking hands with them.
Since the reporters and paparazzi were still hoarding the outer gate, Zyair’s security team decided to bring in the special Limousine Zyair had hired to take Skyla home. Decorated elegantly with flowers the white limo stood in the pathway.
"Come, let’s settle you inside," Huria said.
Huria and Mawar helped Skyla settle inside.
"Have a good honeymoon and don’t worry about the company. We will do our best." Lawrence thumped Zyair’s back.
"Thank you for everything my wingman." With contentment rolling off of him Zyair entered the limo from the other side and took the seat beside her. They waved to everyone with happy cheerful smiles.
"We love you guys, have fun."
"We will miss you."
Everyone shouted as they rolled up the windows and Limo began to move. They were heading towards a new path in life and together they wished to make the happiest memories. After everything they had been through this was the least they deserved.
