Chapter 242: The Wedding Venue

"How about this one?" Huria showed Skyla another design for her maid of honour dress.

"This one is good, if we can make slight changes then it will be perfect," Skyla answered, holding a pencil she began to make the necessary changes and showed it to Huria by holding the paper up.

"I quite like it. I think we can make it work, let me send it to the Sewing Department. I want it to be ready as soon as possible. How far along is your dress?" Huria asked, taking the paper from Skyla and retracing the design on her tablet, adding the required colours and attaching the notes of the materials she wanted.

They had chosen mauve as the main colour with different shades of purple for ribbons and gemstones on it.

"It’s almost ready, the strangest part is my ex-mother-in-law and my about-to-be mother-in-law are preparing it together," Skyla answered with a small cackle.

"Woah! Really!" Huria’s hands halted and she gave out half a chuckle. The universe did work in mysterious ways.

"Yes! I will be going to check it out later in the evening after we have a look at our venue," Skyla told her while getting up.

"I hope it turns out just the way you have imagined, let’s head out for the venue." Huria completed the design, attached the required information to it and forwarded it to her sewing department. She had already spoken to them and they were expecting it.

Girls headed out for the venue Meena had arranged for them. It was a botanical garden that had a scenic lake with Camilla trees in red and pink shades that bloomed in Autumn.

They reached the venue and headed inside the manager’s office. The man was in his mid-fifties with a pleasant countenance. He stood up and greeted them with a pleasant smile.

"Good afternoon, ladies, please have a seat. I am Adicus Marcus," he introduced himself and indicated towards the chairs. The girls settled down.

"Good afternoon, Mr Marcus. I am Skyla Adams, this is my friend Huria. We are here to see the venue Meena Kincaid booked. Can we have a look?" frёeweɓηovel.coɱ

"Of course! Mrs Kincaid is one of our top donors, I am sure you will find the venue to your taste. Please, give me a moment." Adicus got up and left the room, heading to check if all arrangements were in place.

Skyla and Huria glanced around the naturally illuminated office with huge windows. Cabinets were neatly arranged with files containing paperwork and there were preserved flowers and exotic plants in pots that lined the walls and window sill.

"This place seems very serene, I am having good vibes that the venue will be the same," Huria pipped, twirling a lock of her chocolate brown hair on her index finger.

Adicus returned soon and requested, "Ladies! If you will follow me."

Both of them got up and followed him as he led them through several passages and small gardens, with lush green grass, strategically built greenhouses and plants gathered from all around the world and kept in pristine conditions.

Everything was fresh and appealed to the senses.

Adicus offered small information here and there, letting them know what kinds of flowers and plants they grew and kept in this place and for what purpose they were used.

"Conservation, research and horticulture are our main objectives to have all these plants here. Some are endangered and we are trying to preserve their genetic diversity here."

Skyla and Huria nodded in understanding at his explanations.

They soon arrived in a vast spread garden beside a tranquil lake on its eastern edge.

"Here we are, please have a look. This place has been specifically designed for the Autumn season and contains plants which bloom during it." Adicus spread his arm forward towards the garden and the lake so girls could properly take in its grandeur.

Bathed in the light of the Autumn sun, the gentle ripples of the water in the slow breeze reflected the clear blue sky above.

Huria and Skyla moved along the edge of the lake and observed the carefully grown flower beds that adorned an array of flowering shrubs that usually bloomed in the Autumn season.

They were already bursting into a profusion of blooms, painting the landscape with shades of crimson, gold, and purple. Prominent among them were Spirea and Witch Hazel.

"This is so soothing to the senses, it’s so peaceful and calm that I want to build my home right here among these shrubs," Skyla commented, her fingertips delicately touching the red, golden flowers. Butterflies fluttered their colourful wings over them.

Huria was taking deep breaths, trying to take in all the fresh smells as she nodded at her friend with her eyes filled with the warmth of this place.

Complementing these flowering shrubs were the graceful Camellia trees, with their glossy evergreen leaves. Camellias added a touch of exuberance to the garden, their flowers ranging from delicate white to deep pink or red.

Together, the autumn-blooming shrubs, elegant Camellia trees and the serene lake as a backdrop transformed the garden into a haven of natural beauty. A perfect Autumn venue for weddings to be held in this season.

Both of them stood on the edge of the lake, breathed in the fragrant air, and immersed themselves in the natural beauty of this place, it was perfect.

"What do you think? Huria?"

"Oh! I would absolutely fucking die happily in such a place. It’s breathtaking." Huria had spread her arms and was soaking in all the goodness this place had to offer. frёewebnoѵēl.com

Skyla’s heart swelled, she turned towards Adicus and smiled elegantly.

"I love it, I think this will be perfect, can we discuss the details of what we want and where?"

Adicus nodded his slightly greying head, a smile covered his hidden lips under the bushy moustache he carried.

"That’s delightful to hear and I am confident you will be satisfied with our arrangements as well. I will be honoured to be of service. Let’s discuss further over freshments in my office," he respectfully stated and ushered the ladies to follow him back to his office.
