Chapter 236: Skyla’s Request to Meena
On their way back home from the office, they went to the hospital to meet Dan; their bodyguard who had been shot. He had finally gained consciousness and his life was out of danger. Doctors had called it a miracle that he had survived after so much bleeding.
"How are you, Dan?" Zyair asked, carefully shaking his hand, which still had a branula and drip attached to it.
"Healing and alive, I can’t complain, Sir. But I am ashamed that I couldn’t protect your home. I failed in my duty." He seemed ashamed of himself, his face ashen and pale.
"Don’t worry about it. What’s done is done. Now we know what to expect from the enemy. Security has been tripled." Zyair assured him.
"Yes, focus on healing for now and get better." Skyla spoke up from beside Zyair, giving him a small smile.
"Has the culprit been caught or any leads?" Dan hopefully inquired.
"Not yet, the police are still looking. The person we named in the case has a strong alibi. So it’s a tough situation for now," Zyair explained. He hated the fact that Doran had an alibi and police found nothing on him. Even no traces of a text ever been sent could be found on Skyla’s phone. He really got his tracks covered.
"I hope they catch the culprit soon. I appreciate your visit, Sir, Ma’am."
"We do too."
They stayed a while with him. Zyair was bearing all expenses of his treatment. He gave Dan’s brother who was taking care of him, some extra money as well so they wouldn’t have to worry about the cash and be able to get whatever he needed.

Skyla’s phone rang as she entered their shared bedroom in Meena Mansion with Zyair after meeting Dan. She picked up the call seeing it was Huria and placed it on her ear. free𝑤ebnovel.com
"Hey! Girl. How are you? How is Mr Zyair?"
"Hey! We are good, just got home from the office," Skyla said, placing her bag on the table while Zyair went inside the bathroom to change after taking off his mask.
"Great, I am calling to invite you people for dinner tomorrow night with Rais and me. It has been a while since we got together. It will take your mind off everything as well. So what do you say?"
Skyla brushed her hair aside and settled down on the bed flipping her right shoe off and then using its toe to take the left off as well.
"Good by me but let me check with Zyair and I will text you."
"Perfecto, I will wait for your text. Byee."
The call ended and Skyla flopped herself on the soft mattress, letting her back thank it.
Zyair soon emerged from the bathroom all damp, fresh and delicious looking.
Skyla leaned herself on her bent arm, placed her face on her hand and turned towards him before calling out in a questioning tone.
"Zy?"
"My love!" He sauntered over to her on his long legs and laid down beside her, so his head was right below her face.
She stooped and placed a tender kiss on his forehead and began playing with his silky wet hair.
"Huria and Rais invited us over for dinner tomorrow. What do you say?"
"Sounds like a plan, I also need to apologise to Huria. She knew me and yet I hid the truth from her and made you do the same. Was she angry at you?"
"No, she is mature enough to understand why I did what I did. It wasn’t my secret to reveal, it was damn no one’s, except yours." Skyla’s hand didn’t pause in his hair as she kept caressing them, their dampness felt so soothing to her fingers.
"Still, I will talk to her. As far as I remember, her father has shares in Mirage," Zyair kind of inquired. He had heard something along the lines.
"Yes, he does. And I want to ask her to be my maid of honour as well. I think it’s time we tied the knot Zy. I can’t wait any longer, I am done with people and their opinions. We are going to live our life the way we want."
Skyla was also thinking of talking to Meena as well. She wanted her to co-design her bridal dress and prepare it.
Zyair smiled a very satisfied smile. Moving his hand behind the back of her head he pressed her face down so their lips could meet, tasting them, caressing them, teasing them with his plump ones, he didn’t wish to let her go. The effect was beyond calming.
The way she had defended him against the world, against his biological mother. The indefinite love he held for her transcended all boundaries.
They halted to take a breather but he held her there, his lips still slowly touching hers, his breath mingled with hers as he softly spoke.
"I can’t wait for you to become my bride. We will go away for weeks, just you and me to a far away soothing place from here so we can relax and just live our lives away from this mayhem and chaos." His ardent eyes couldn’t get enough of her cute face. His gaze roamed all over it, taking in all of her blushes, thinking which part to kiss next.
"It’s a deal, I am very much looking forward to that honeymoon."
She wanted to tell him she never had one from her previous marriage but then she held her tongue and said instead.
"Come let’s go for dinner. Mom will be waiting for us."
Placing a tiny kiss on his meaty lips, she wriggled out of his hold and headed to the bathroom to change.
"Don’t forget, I will be having you for dessert," he mischievously called after her.
"With delight," she waved with the back of her hand and disappeared into the bathroom, while Zyair got up and put away her shoes in the rack.
Soon they joined Meena on the dining table. Zyair pulled back the chair and helped Skyla settle down first before doing the same.
"How was your day, mom?" Skyla asked, spreading the napkin and helping herself to a slice of cheese and mushroom quiche.
"Good, I enjoyed designing some new dresses. I will love your feedback, will you have a look whenever you are free?" Meena hopefully asked, she loved having a girl at home now, with whom she could discuss all of her passions and hobbies.
Zyair was quietly relishing in the flavours of the delicious quiche his mother had prepared.
"Of course, let’s do it after dinner. I have a request for you as well. I hope you will accept it."
Skyla’s expectant eyes met Meena’s curious ones. Zyair also halted his onslaught on the quiche and side glanced at his girl.
"Anything Skyla, you know you can ask without any hindrance." Meena put a gentle smile on her face so Skyla could talk to her without any worry. It eased any apprehensions Skyla was still harbouring.
"I would like for you to design my wedding dress. I have a few ideas, I was hoping we could sit and discuss it."
