Chapter 219: Huria Finds Out The Truth
The truth of her words, the warmth and determination they carried plunged deep into his heart and swept away some of the pain he had been experiencing nonstop.
His darkened wet eyes swirled with a million emotions as he greedily covered her lips with his and pushed her onto the soft mattress below.
His hands clung to her velvety curls as his needy mouth savagely plundered her. She didn’t mind in the slightest as she dragged in a deep breath, opening her mouth for him to invade.
Skyla didn’t know where she ended and he began as their bodies intertwined, melded and their lips remained locked.
His kiss was wild, and untameable fire as all his caged emotions had escaped today, his pain, his anger, his hurt and she took it all in, absorbing them like a sponge so he could be free at least in this moment for tomorrow he was going to be surged in hell.
His world was going to fall apart, the world he had meticulously built in the past nine years. The least she could do was be there for him for they had chosen to do this together.
"I love you. Thank you for staying," he barely whispered, the agony emanating from every syllable he uttered as he slumped over her, trying to find a slave of peace.
Skyla didn’t let him go even for a second. He didn’t speak after just rested his head on her soft chest with his eyes closed. Her hands never left his hair. None of them slept a wink though, both of them were lost in the thoughts of the unforeseeable future and how they were going to tackle what was coming.
Bitu flew over in the morning, through the pet door Zyair had specifically installed for him. It perched itself on Zyair’s back, nipping his ear as if understanding he was in pain.
Skyla patted the green bird as it rubbed its beak on Zyair’s cheek.
"Zzzzzz!" Bitu squeaked, trying to get Zyair’s attention. Zyair lovingly flicked his finger on his beak.
"Go to Mom, I will be out," he told Bitu, who rubbed his cheek one last time and flew out of the pet door. Skyla watched him leave as Zyair spoke yet again but his voice was so monotone.
"I need to talk to Lawrence and my media team before they find out from some other source. They can assert some damage control once shit hits the internet."
Skyla’s hands paused in his hair as she answered without any reluctance.
"I am coming with you, I won’t let you do this alone."
"I will appreciate that. We need to inform the Police as well, regarding what Doran texted you. They may need your phone as well since we have no proof." Zyair finally lifted his head and faced her, she could only see anguish carved on it. Her heart twinged and she wanted to take every ounce of pain away.
"I don’t mind but knowing Doran, he won’t do it again and will try some other method. He is smart and knows how to play on the vulnerabilities of others," Skyla answered as Zyair slid off her and stood up.
Killing Doran seemed like the best solution right then but he knew that blame would come on him as everyone was aware of the bad blood between them now. He was also worried about Skyla’s reaction to it.
"We will need a strategy but for today I will need your strength. You also need to tell Huria, she shouldn’t find out from others. I will apologise to her later. Will change now."
Reaching behind his back, Zyair crumpled his t-shirt and took it off before walking off towards the bathroom, his steps lacked confidence today and this killed Skyla inside.
Once he had closed the bathroom door and the shower turned on, Skyla called Huria. It was early in the morning and she was still sleeping.
Huria picked up on the fourth bell and her sleepy voice filtered through.
"Hello!"
"Huria, it’s me. Can we talk? It’s important," Skyla answered in a nervous voice.
"Of course! Everything fine with you?" Huria rubbed her eyes as she sat up straight in bed.
"Actually, no. Our home was invaded, our guard was shot and Zyair’s picture was stolen. It’s Doran who did it and now he is threatening to reveal Zyair’s identity online until I return to him. It’s a mess, Huria. Even the thought of returning to him makes me want to vomit with disgust."
Huria was by no means ready for all this information at such an early hour. She felt angry would be an understatement, she was raging like a full blown tigress. ƒreewebηoveℓ.com
"I know I should have killed that man when I had the chance. How dare he? Why haven’t you told this to the Police yet and have gotten him arrested."
"It’s not that simple Huria. He used a disappearing text app and only texted me once. We have no proof against him. Even the cameras in our house caught a man who had his whole face, hair and hands covered in a mask. And you know the lengths he can go to attain what he wants. We are going to war with him and we would need your support." Skyla weaved her hand through her curls in frustration, she wanted to pull them.
"Skyla, I am always with you guys. Tell me what I need to do and I will do it," Huria firmly told her.
"Zyair wanted me to inform you about him before the media will drag his name. He is Calix, the man I had my one-night stand with. The man I met in Mirage. The man you arranged for me dressed as Kakashi."
Huria’s hand shook and she dropped the phone in her lap as she sat in stunned silence for a few seconds, letting her brain register the shock of Skyla’s words.
"WHAT?" She was thunderstruck as she slowly processed her friend’s words, "But how?"
"It’s a long story and I will tell you personally later. But for now, you can understand how the media is going to blow up and put him on trial whenever Doran is going to release his picture and personal information, considering his line of past work," Skyla spoke with a heavy heart and low voice. Tears almost collected in her eyes again.
"Heavens! This is bad, Sky. I still can’t believe it but know that I will always be with you people. You guys need me for anything, just say it. You need my statement or fight the media, I will do it. Don’t be reluctant."
Huria knew deep inside her heart that society, media and people, in general, were never kind to the professions which provided bodily pleasures and knowing the status Zyair held now, it was not going to be pretty.
Both of them were just starting their relationship and this was going to test them big time.
"Thanks, Huria, you are a blessing to us. I will keep in touch," Skyla told her friend. Zyair opened the door and exited the bathroom. Seeing him she ended the call so she could tend to him.
