Chapter 177: Don’t Go

Zyair brought tea and they carried out light conversations during its consumption. Meena told them about her life incidents with Montague, enthralling them both by revealing what a romantic couple they were. Both the young folks held onto every word Meena narrated with interest.

After tea, Meena retired for the day as it had gotten late. Before leaving she told Skyla.

"I hope you will keep visiting me. I love a good company. Someday we will call Amsilia as well, so we can have dinner together," Meena held her hands while Skyla wholeheartedly agreed.

Saying their goodbyes, Zyair took Skyla outside in the garden. They sat down on the patio swing. Bitu perched up in Skyla’s lap while Zyair wrapped his burly arm around her, pulling her closer to him.

With her head on his shoulder, they sat in complete tranquillity. The night was cold and dark with few insects creating a racket in the grass.

"You will come to the office tomorrow?" He quietly asked, placing his chin in her hair.

"I have nothing to fear now," she sincerely told him.

"Good, I am giving you a car so you can easily travel," Zyair placed a tender kiss in her hair while she patted Bitu who was falling asleep in her lap.

"I have my mother-in-law’s car. I will use that for now. She won’t take it back."

"Return it when you can, I wish to buy you a new one," Zyair said, soaking in her scent. The swing slowly rocked back and forth.

"I will buy one myself now," she answered with determination and he couldn’t help but smile at her decision.

"Of course, my Princess."

She blushed, and he smirked.

The cold wind began to blow as the night descended into its late hours. She trembled a bit and hid Bitu in her hands so he wouldn’t feel cold.

"We should go in. I don’t want you to catch a cold," Zyair rubbed Skyla’s arm to keep her warm.

"I should probably go home now. It’s late and we have to go to the office tomorrow." She finally turned her head to face him and found him with a perpetual scowl.

He didn’t want to part with her.

"Stay with me, we can go to the office together," he requested, his voice straining with pain.

"It won’t be appropriate here. Let’s wait a little longer," she apologetically informed him. He tugged her to his chest and held her not wanting to let go but knew she was right.

So Zyair called Kail, whom he had appointed as Skyla’s bodyguard now. He was also to accompany her whenever she would leave Zyair’s place. It was just a precaution in case anyone tried anything funny.

Skyla placed a sleeping Bitu in the nest Zyair had built for the bird and after their goodbyes, she left with Kail in his tinted windowed car.

Zyair watched the car disappear at the end of the road, they lived in a posh area where only the residents or people with special permission could enter. So it was pretty safe from paparazzi and unwanted media.

Huria was still awake and was watching an anime when Skyla arrived. Both of them hugged and she wanted all the details. freёwebnovel.com

"Tell me everything. OMG did you finally do it? Did you guys bang?" She held her hands together and watched her friend with expectant eyes. Heat rose in Skyla’s ears and face.

"Shut up, Huria," Skyla chided her with a slight slap on her arm.

"Ouch! Just give a juicy tidbit, Sky. Don’t be so harsh, I always tell you all the details," Huria rubbed her arm and made a genuinely hurt face.

"Well he ate me up like I was a sweet confectionary he so loves to eat," Skyla told her with a shake of her head and a little awkwardness creeping up on her.

"Woah! Did you see his face then? Tell me more, tell me more, please." Huria grabbed Skyla’s hands and shook her in excitement.

"Yes, I did and he is more handsome than one can imagine," Skyla informed her with a knowing smile but her heart hurt for she couldn’t tell her his identity.

Huria screeched, her hand covering her astonished face.

"Shut up, girl. You don’t say."

"Yes, I do," Skyla giggled like a schoolgirl talking about her first crush with her best friend.

"Oh! Sky, I am so happy for you girl. I can’t even tell you about the joys I am experiencing. You deserve this and so much more. Just let this shitstorm die and go live with him."

Skyla nodded in affirmation.

"I am counting on it."

"Now, I want a rich CEO as well," Huria over-exaggeratedly sighed, making Skyla laugh and she wondered if Rais could be an option. He always had this sweet smile on his face while he spoke to Huria.

Her phone began to ping so she took it out of her bag and saw it was Zyair calling her. It had been a while since he had done that.

"I have to take this," Skyla told Huria, making her mischievously nod her head.

Skyla walked over to her room and closed the door before swiping and receiving his call, placing the phone on her ear.

"Hey! Have you reached?" He asked in that ruggedly hoarse voice of his.

"Hi! Yes, I have."

"Good. So I asked my tech team to have this new software installed and it won’t let anyone access my calls or messages. I am trusting them and hoping it will work, so we can continue to talk."

Zyair was lying down in his bed but sleep had eluded him so he knew he was going to spend the night talking to her.

"That’s great, I pray it is like that."

"I already miss you, Sky. Did you really have to leave?" He asked with desperation clinging to his voice which hit her directly in the heart. She didn’t like it whenever he felt down because of her.

"We will meet tomorrow and I promise I will make it up to you," she promptly informed him, lying down in bed and holding Cuddles to her chest.

"And how will my girl do that?" Suddenly his voice took on tints of seductiveness.

"I would rather show you," she teasingly answered, making him raucously laugh.

They continued their teasing to and fro until it was almost dawn and he let her catch a few hours before coming to the office.

Skyla slept a happy woman that night, although she missed his warmth and his cushy arms she knew whom she belonged to now.

Kail took her to the office the next day. She went through the underground elevator so as not to attract any unwanted attention and stares.

Reaching the top the elevator dinged and opened. Lawrence was there waiting for her with his usual naughty smile. Both of them hugged as he informed her with a shake of his head.

"It’s such a relief to have you back. I have been the centre of his ire lately. He is anxiously expecting you. Go before his glares burn me."

Skyla had to hold back a snicker. She thumped Lawrence’s arm and said.

"I got this."

She made her way to his office and the excitement in her chest rose with every step she took. Knocking on the door had him answering her instantly.

"You may enter."

Like she always did, she opened his door and stepped inside his awaiting office.
