Chapter 165: Can I See Your Face?

Skyla was still in a dazed state, too drunk by that kiss they had just shared. She held his face, he wasn’t wearing the mask today.

"Thank you! I am happy you won," she finally said, brushing her thumbs against his cheeks.

"I would never lose to that scumbag," Zyair reassured her in his husky voice. The car had stopped moving, which meant they had arrived at their destination.

"It’s your birthday so I thought we would spend the night together but first I have a surprise for you. Would you like to see it?" Zyair took out his mask and covered his face.

Skyla’s face heated up at the prospect of spending the night with him. A teasing sensation akin to the electric jolt passed through her making her body shudder from the thoughts of delectable pleasures.

"Yes!" All her attention was on this man so she hadn’t even noticed where they were. The mirrors were covered with black curtains so she couldn’t even properly see the location.

Zyair gently placed her on the seat and opened the door exiting it, he then extended his hand so Skyla could climb out as well. She took it and promptly stepped outside the car on a very familiar driveway.

Zyair told the driver he could leave and closed the main door as Skyla took in her surroundings and almost crumbled to the ground in shock. Her knees uncontrollably shook as her eyes landed on the massive structure bathed in the iridescent glow of the heavenly orb above.

Her hands covered her mouth to stop herself from screaming out but the sea of emotions washed over her in tsunami waves.

It looked the same, it felt the same. Not like 9 years had passed since she had stepped foot in here.

The car was gone and the door was closed. They were alone now with no soul in sight. So Zyair wrapped his arms around her waist, placing his chin on her shoulder. He could feel her body trembling from the shock.

"W–why are we here?" She asked in an emotionally trembling voice. Her eyes fought back tears of joy as they stumbled towards the garden where the one-winged angel statue still stood in all its glory.

"To spend the night and celebrate your birthday," he calmly answered, observing her over her shoulder with a satisfied smile. ƒrēewebnovel.com

"But, how?"

"It’s your birthday gift, Sky. From today onwards it’s yours again." His words had her spinning around and facing him with wild frantic eyes shimmering with tears.

"What?" Skyla was stunned beyond her comprehension. She stupidly blinked at him.

Did this man buy her family villa???

"Yes, I can only imagine how many memories this place has for you. So I bought it back and restored it as much as I could. From today onwards it’s yours now and you can settle in here if you wish. I will soon transfer the deed in your name." Zyair held her shaking shoulders and was enjoying all the colours of disbelief on her face.

For a few seconds, she kept staring at him as if he were a ghost and would disappear with a pop. When he persisted she shook her head at him.

"You didn’t have to. You know that. Why are you so kind to me?" She sniffled, her nose turning red from the cold and emotional outburst her body and brain were experiencing.

"Yes, I had to and you deserve this and so much more. Don’t ever let anyone tell you otherwise. You are a queen and I won’t stop until I help you climb to that status." His tone was slightly serious, letting her know he meant every word he said to her.

Who doesn’t love a man who wants to raise his woman to the status of a queen and keep his word?

Skyla could no longer hold herself back and embraced him, burying her face in his dress jacket and crying openly. She could be as vulnerable with him as she wished, knowing he would never use it against her, never taunt her and never hurt.

"Shhh!" With gentle hands, he smoothed her hair, "I didn’t mean to make you sad on your birthday. Don’t cry, please."

"I am just so happy that I am crying, I don’t know what to do." She was an emotional wreck but in a good way. Zyair held her near his thumping heart until she had calmed down a bit and her quivering ceased.

"Let’s go inside," he gently asked, rubbing her back and she nodded before letting him guide her in. freewebnσvel.cøm

Memories after memories hit her in abundance as Skyla wandered inside her childhood home. Memories of her parents, rich with their love and affection when her life was nothing like it turned out to be. It had changed but the precious memories still echoed inside these walls.

Zyair had done a remarkable job of maintaining it and she couldn’t help but steal an appreciative glance towards the man by her side. The man who had turned out to be her salvation.

"I didn’t know which one used to be your room so I made a tentative guess, let me know if I got it right." Zyair gestured with his hand to a door which was freshly painted red and she couldn’t help but slowly chuckle.

"You got it right, that indeed used to be my room." Skyla took a step closer and placed her hand on the door handle turning it to open it.

She entered and it was like rewinding time, all her recollections of her room surfaced and nostalgia washed over her yet again.

Everything in her room had been changed, from the wall colours to the furniture and curtains and yet she could recall where she used to have all the Kakashi posters, her figurines, books and her bed.

Now it was bathed with low blue lights and a round marble table lay on the side with a cake and wine. Slow romantic music played on the speakers in the corner.

She was still taking all this in when Zyair’s strong arms shackled her from behind, arresting her in his hold. Skyla leaned in his touch and slowly asked, kissing his arm.

"You arranged all this for me?"

"Uh-huh! You like it, I will replace it to its original glory just give me the details..." Skyla turned in his arms and faced him, her expression holding a mixture of awe and contentedness. Her hands reached out to hold his face.

"What if I ask you for something else rather than turning it into my old room? Will you give it to me?" She nervously questioned, holding his curious gaze.

"I will give you anything you will ask Skyla as long as it’s in my hands." His reassurance washed over her like a warm gust of wind on a chilly evening.

His hands held her waist as he waited patiently for her question. Jittery feelings bubbled in her tummy, this was nerve-wracking but she was prepared for it. Closing her eyes she filled her lungs with much-needed oxygen and opened them again before anxiously asking.

"I want to see your face, can I remove your mask?"

The air stilled and Skyla felt like the world stopped spinning and came to a halt as she held her breath and his soft gaze.

One word and only word it all came down to said with clarity and so much love just reserved for the woman in his arms.

"Yes!"
