Chapter 144: Wild Bike Ride

"I am." Skyla grazed her fingers on the polished leather seat. Like everything else he owned, this specimen was immaculately clean and in perfect shape.

Zyair smirked under his mask seeing her lost in its gracely magnificence.

"You like it?" He tentatively touched her nimble fingers with his deft ones.

"I love it." Her fingers halted as they touched his but she didn’t draw back her hand. He had pulled out leather gloves from the helmet.

"You will love it even more when we ride it. Have you ever ridden a bike before?" She shook her head negatively at his question.

"Then get ready for the experience of a lifetime."

He took her hand and helped her wear the leather gloves not wanting for her to feel cold. He repeated the process on her other hand as well and paused when he saw her still wearing the ring.

His eyes narrowed, he hated that ugly ring on her beautiful finger. Calmly he clutched it and began to wriggle it off her finger.

Skyla didn’t say anything she quietly watched him do it. Zyair removed the ring and then he peeked at her, making sure she was on board with this decision.

A burden seemed to have left Skyla’s shoulders as the ring was removed. That feeling of being branded with it evaporated and a swift sigh of relief escaped her slightly parted lips.

"You will not wear this ring again, that connection with him is gone now. You will return it when it’s the appropriate time." Zyair lightly rubbed the place where the ring had sat, imagining how it would look if she were to wear his ring someday.

"I don’t want to ever wear it again." She told him confidently. Zyair pocketed the ring not wanting for her to feel burdened or depressed seeing it again. He would hand it over to Huria for safe keeping.

"Come we should leave. I know a place where we can sit and talk in peace."

He guided her onto the back seat, helping her settle on it comfortably. It was a good thing she had chosen to wear jeans and a cardigan today.

Ensuring she was comfortably sitting he pulled down her visor. Then swinging his long leg he climbed his bike with ease.

"Hold tight, Skyla," he instructed slightly turning his head backwards. She obeyed and tentatively held his shoulders. He smiled under his helmet at her meek action.

The bike came to life as he hit the throttle and it slightly sped up. Her grip tightened at his shoulders and she shuffled closer to his leather-clad back.

A slight ’ah’ escaped her lips but she loved the feeling of cold air rushing past her.

Another throttle and sudden burst of speed had her slightly jerking forward and soon she was clutching his waist with her arms like he had wanted in the first place. free𝑤ebnovel.com

"You alright? Don’t let go of me, I am going to speed up a bit," he shouted back and her hold on him tightened as her soft breasts squished in his hard-muscled back.

Passionate desires bubbled inside his heart.

"I am gooddd," she shouted back, enjoying the warmth emitting from his body. Her heart had eased down, forgotten was her panic attack, and forgotten was this despairing world around them.

His biking skills were top-notch. Soon they were on a main road and Zyair manoeuvred it through heavy traffic with such ease that Skyla could tell he had been doing this for years. The girl was highly impressed.

She placed her chin on his shoulder and watched the rushing world around her with such interest. Lights were blurry fast-moving dots as the loud sound of the bike and wind filled her ears.

Skyla had never experienced something like that, there was a slight feeling of vertigo but she didn’t care for it. All she cared about was enjoying this adventure.

Zyair stopped outside a liquor store and Skyla unwillingly let go of his waist. He got off the bike and faced her.

"I will be back in a minute, don’t take off your helmet," he instructed and she nodded.

Zyair disappeared inside the store while Skyla waited sitting on the bike. He appeared within 10 minutes carrying a bag which contained what Skyla imagined was some wine.

"Have you eaten anything?" He asked placing the bag around the handle.

"No, I am not hungry." There were still knots tied in her stomach, all her appetite was lost. She only wanted to spend some time with him.

He shook his head at her in disappointment.

"What did we talk about your diet? We are getting something to eat. Come." They mounted the bike again and zoomed away.

Zyair made one last stop and bought fish and chips for Skyla before they headed to the destination he had in mind.

Skyla could sense the wind getting salty, they were heading towards the sea. They finally arrived in a secluded rocky part of the beach. Parking his bike in its usual spot Zyair dismounted it and then helped Skyla get off too. Both of them took off their gloves.

He grabbed the bags and offered his free hand to her. She took it without hesitation. Zyair intertwined his fingers with her.

"Come, I will take you to my secret spot today."

"Secret spot?" She questioned, raising the visor so she could talk with ease.

"Yes, I am sure you will like it."

They headed off and began to climb the rocky path that led to the cliff. Skyla had never been to this place.

Soon they arrived at the top of the cliff and Skyla could see why he said it was his favourite spot. She finally took off her helmet and Zyair took it from her.

The cliff sharply edged out over the raging sea below. The waves crashed and thrashed on it as if venting out all their anger. The round celestial beauty of the sky hung low there giving a very picturesque view. The raging wind howled and blew like a roaring giant.

Skyla let go of Zyair’s hand and edged to the surface, standing at the corner she let herself be bathed in the grandeur of this natural scenery. Closing her eyes she felt the salty wind whipping her face and hair.

The splashing of the water below brought a spray of droplets which cooled her heated face. She was in awe. Strong arms wrapped themselves around her waist and had her flush against his broad chest. His nose lined the outside of her ear as he murmured in it.

"Do you like it?"

Skyla’s breath was caught in her throat, she could sense the warmth of his hands through her clothes as he gently rubbed them on her stomach.

"It is so peaceful so very serene. I wish we could stay here forever, leaving behind the chaos of our world," she whispered back, leaning in his touch.

"One day we will but until then we will face this world boldly. We won’t crumble or fall, we won’t let them see our weaknesses or vulnerability. Or they won’t hesitate to break us more. Our frailties are limited between the two of us. Am I right?"

Zyair had pulled down his mask and his lips were resting on her temple, grazing the spot tenderly and Skyla could no longer form words.
