Some lives are worth more than others.

"Don’t you dare kiss me again like you did last time!" Queen Maeve said high in the sky.
Her physical fitness was much stronger. It was clear she was used to being carried while flying, unlike Cate and Jordan, who reacted much more violently.
"Oh, that last time was an accident." Hillel kept a straight face.
Queen Maeve snorted. "An accident? You pinned me against the wall and kissed me for a full five seconds, and you call that an accident?"
"Yeah, my lips slipped."
"...Slipped right onto my mouth, huh?"
Hillel forcibly changed the subject. "Alright, alright, don’t bicker like a resentful wife. Isn’t this me taking you for a flight?"
Queen Maeve huffed, looking pissed off.
"Don’t you want to do something genuinely good? No need to worry about traffic, no need to worry about your public image, and you can steadily increase your approval rating."
Hillel’s voice was like a devil’s.
Queen Maeve turned her head, but stubbornly didn’t ask, pretending to be tough.
In the original show, unlike Homelander and the others, Queen Maeve truly wanted to do good and truly wanted to be embraced by the public, but in the end she was forced to rebel.
Her bad habits included alcoholism, smoking weed, and orgies.
But that was just to release stress. If given a good job, she would return to normal.
Except for her homosexuality.
"Speak. I’m listening," Queen Maeve said.
"I haven’t been to Brooklyn in a long time. Supe crime has been rampant there lately, and someone needs to clean it up," Hillel said.
"Can’t you just go by yourself?"
"I could certainly enjoy the fame myself. After all, The Guardian has always been a lone wolf. He stands independent from The Seven and is the Arbiter. But what if I bring you along? What would the public think?"
Hillel stared into Queen Maeve’s eyes. Her hair fluttered in the hurricane-force winds.
"Some of the traffic would shift to me, and I wouldn’t have to worry about my approval rating sliding anymore," Queen Maeve said.
In fact, she was being conservative.
According to Vought’s statistics, The Guardian’s fans across the internet might already exceed Homelander’s.
But he had no interest in maintaining his accounts. The videos were all reposted by passersby.
If The Guardian cooperated with PR operations, or brought someone along on site, the person being brought along would absolutely take off!
"So... why are you touching my butt?"
Queen Maeve’s ears suddenly turned red.
...
Brooklyn, Stuyvesant District.
This area was a disaster zone for supe crime.
Ever since Hillel had been patrolling Brooklyn and fighting criminals, things had been quiet here for a good while.
But recently he had been busy having friendly exchanges with Starlight, promoting the improvement of comprehensive quality among heroes, penetrating external grassroots to fight terrorist organizations, and internally carrying out strict instructions, so he hadn’t been able to get back to the internal grassroots fully.
The deterrent effect in Brooklyn had begun to wane.
Some small supe criminal gangs had emerged again, committing robbery, extortion, drug trafficking, and violent assault...
There was no helping it. It was a systemic issue. These things could never be completely eradicated.
Tonight was the perfect time for a nice harvest.
Hillel brought Queen Maeve down to the roof of an abandoned apartment building. The night wind howled.
In the distance came the sound of police sirens and the sporadic sound of gunfire.
Queen Maeve tidied her hair, which had been blown messy by the wind, and looked around.
"This place is like a pile of shit. I’m afraid if you just pass by, you’ll get surrounded by two mother fuckers."
Hillel realized that Queen Maeve’s language system was also quite explosive.
"We must strive to be high-quality supes. Don’t just open your mouth with ’your mother this, your mother that’... Cultural workers must have culture!"
Hillel activated his super hearing, and sound waves spread outward like ripples.
An acid-spitting supe was chasing a mother and daughter five blocks away. His laughter was quite lewd.
Three strength-based supes were robbing an armored truck, and the surrounding public was looting the cash on the spot.
Three blocks away, a group of supes was beating up a convenience store owner... The owner hadn’t died after taking a beating for several minutes. He was practically a Superman.
"Three groups of people. Which one do you choose?"
Queen Maeve looked in the direction he pointed. "The closest one."
She could only leap. She couldn’t fly.
"Then I’ll fly a bit further away."
Before Hillel could finish, Queen Maeve leaped out.
She vaulted over the height of a twelve-story building directly. When she landed, the ground only vibrated slightly, and then she shot off like a cannonball.
Queen Maeve is truly a tiger.
For the next hour, the supe criminals of Brooklyn experienced a night that felt like a nightmare.
The Guardian and Queen Maeve appeared on the streets of Brooklyn simultaneously.
At the scene of the armored truck, the supe criminals had beaten the security guards to death. Hillel used his invincible hand blade to slice one of them in half horizontally.
A speed-type supe tried to ram Hillel to death.
Hillel’s bio-field was no longer gentle. The guy smashed into him like a truck and then his soul transmigrated to another world.
The other two supes didn’t run. Hillel grabbed one of their heads and performed a Viltrumite grip. Blood stained the streets.
The remaining two could manipulate metal when combined. Hillel melted a street lamp and welded it onto them, turning the two into a statue radiating bromance.
The reporter on the scene took pictures regardless of their life and even wanted to pull Hillel down for an interview.
Hillel showed a "nuclear-friendly" smile. "I am not a hero. Those who died are the heroes! By the way, I still have to go help Queen Maeve!"
Then he flew away.
The reporter looked surprised. "Queen Maeve did it too?"
...
Over on Queen Maeve’s side, she crashed through the wall of the convenience store headfirst.
Like picking up little chicks, she embedded the few young adult supe thugs into the wall one by one.
The convenience store owner stood up, covered in dust and dirt. He flew over like a Superman and grabbed the thugs to beat them.
"Fuck you, I was a tough guy back in the day too, you idiots! Eat my weapon!"
Queen Maeve was stunned watching from the side. No wonder this owner could take a beating for so long. He was a supe too!
Queen Maeve shook her head and arrived at the central block.
The acid-spitting mutant caught the mother and daughter and actually greedily stated that his ability was very strong.
Queen Maeve delivered a kick to the groin. Thud!
Offff... Hillel, standing not far away, subconsciously felt a chill in his crotch!
For rapists, physical castration is indeed the best form of punishment.
The mother and daughter finally reacted. The little girl looked up at her, eyes full of admiration.
"Are you... Queen Maeve?"
Queen Maeve smiled gently. "Yes."
"Mom! It’s Queen Maeve! She saved us!" The little girl jumped up excitedly and hugged Queen Maeve’s leg.
Queen Maeve slowly reached out and gently patted the little girl’s head.
That reporter sped over all the way. Before he could even catch his breath, he shoved the microphone over.
"Queen Maeve, The Guardian, were your actions today a bit too heavy-handed?"
"It was fine." Queen Maeve hadn’t killed anyone. She didn’t know why the reporter asked that.
"But The Guardian left not a single criminal alive. He killed them all," the reporter said.
Hillel accepted the interview on behalf of Queen Maeve. He replied, "No, I don’t think so. Those criminals deserved to die."
"When they were robbing the armored truck, they didn’t care about the public nearby. Their attack caused at least a dozen people to die."
"Vought has already sent over the information on those victims. They were police officers, doctors, housewives. They were all good people!"
"I cannot imagine my own family being treated like this one day, so I couldn’t help myself..."
Queen Maeve’s expression changed. How could he say that to a reporter?
"The Guardian didn’t mean it like that!" Queen Maeve immediately spoke up to help. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
"That is exactly what I meant," Hillel said.
The reporter asked, "So you are insisting on a life for a life, which is why you killed all those criminals?"
Hillel shook his head. "A life for a life? What is your name?"
The reporter was stunned and said his name was Steven.
"Very well, Steven. Then let me ask you..."
"...Do you honestly believe the lives of innocent people, good parents and innocent children are worth the same as those of murderers, rapists, and filthy animals?"
