Chapter 152

Episode 34 - Alessia and Zoey [3]

Crack! Boom!
Twenty-meter-tall pillars swayed in the middle of a tornado filled with debris.
Gravity manipulation caused all the debris to float in the air.
Moving his hands, Adel accelerated the movement of the debris and the pillars.
The place that had once been a kind of prison had collapsed, except, of course, for the area where Alessia and Zoey were.
Boom!
"Ha, ha, this is more fun than I thought. The harder you are to kill, the more fun this becomes."
The Class 7 villain wielded his scythe, slicing the debris and pillars in half.
Adel moved his hands, making a gesture.
The debris compressed until it formed a perfect sphere.
Then he did the same with the rest of the debris, creating a dozen spheres.
The next second, he extended his hands, and gravity shifted.
Boom! Boom!
The spheres shot through the air toward the villain; however, he dodged them and swung his scythe.
A thin blade of Power of Chaos sliced through the air, cutting the remaining spheres in half.
Then the Power of Chaos erupted from his body, causing his speed to increase.
His figure blurred and appeared in front of Adel.
Clang!
Adel’s sword blocked the scythe in a swift movement.
Second Form: Space.
First Form: Twenty-Four Steps of Space.
The villain’s scythe struck empty air while, in front of him, a massive slash destroyed everything in its path.
A chill ran down his spine when Adel vanished before his eyes, and the next second, the blade of a black sword appeared inches from his neck.
"Ugh...!"
The villain twisted his body backward.
Adel’s sword, imbued with Inverted Mana, cut through the space before him while the attack appeared not far away, destroying everything in its path.
The villain leaned back and swung his scythe.
Clang!
Adel’s sword swept through the air, blocking the attack, and then he extended his hand.
"Annihilation."
"...!"
The villain’s Power of Chaos vanished. His expression shifted from surprise to disbelief and then to shock. freewebnøvel.com
Without wasting any time, Adel drove his fist directly into the villain’s chest.
Clang! Boom!
A deafening explosion made the air tremble around the impact.
The villain’s body blurred and was launched at a ridiculous speed, smashing through and destroying wall after wall behind him.
"Cough...!!!"
A mouthful of black blood burst from his mouth as he felt his chest crack.
His bones had shattered, and the fractures spread across much of his back and ribs.
"Ha, ha, ha..."
The Power of Chaos returned to his body seconds later.
"So you can erase my Power of Chaos for three seconds... that means you completed that Memory Gate."
The villain rose from the rubble while using the Power of Chaos, and his body regenerated before their eyes.
His bones repaired themselves, and his organs stabilized.
"Not bad..."
Adel said as he moved his hand, and an enormous pillar flew forward at incredible speed.
Boom!
The villain used his scythe as a shield and blocked the pillar.
However, his legs sank into the ground as he was pushed backward at the same time. He gritted his teeth and used all his strength.
Even so, Adel had no intention of letting him off easily.
He brought both hands together and formed a series of patterns with his fingers, moving his hands in a strange manner.
"Manipulation. Condensation. Manifestation. Creation."
Purple-black spheres appeared everywhere, floating in the air.
’This is the first time I’ve used this ability of my Dark Attribute.’
An ability called <Black Sky Sphere>, which every Dark Attribute user could use.
However, learning the skill itself usually took years or even decades, as it was classified among the most destructive and devastating abilities.
Yet Adel’s talent, combined with the guidance of Alice, a former 11-Star Awakened,
allowed him to master it and learn the skill in only three months.
"Oh, shit..."
The villain cursed under his breath when he saw the spheres made entirely of Dark Mana.
Snap!
Adel snapped his fingers. The spheres immediately shot through the air at tremendous speed.
A rain of Dark Mana spheres descended upon the villain’s location.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
However, Adel waved his hands and compressed every piece of debris within his reach.
He formed geometric shapes similar to ice cream cones and then made a gesture with his fingers.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
Each cone moved and headed directly toward the place where the black spheres of Dark Mana were falling like rain.
Boom! Boom!
Different kinds of explosions echoed throughout the devastating destruction that surrounded them.
The entire underground area of the Dome had become filled with massive walls, pillars, dust, and rubble. At this rate, the entire Dome would collapse and end up buried underground.
’I only have two minutes left before Eyes of the End is sealed.’
Descending to the ground while dismissing his wings, Adel assumed a stance.
"Second Form: Space."
Time around him slowed as his legs moved. Using mana, he enhanced every part of his body.
Within his black-and-white vision, blue and red lines appeared.
He looked at the villain’s weak points and, without wasting any time, used the Twenty-Four Steps of Space.
Whoosh!
His figure blurred and pierced through the curtain of dust.
".....?!"
The villain raised his head. His entire body was battered, and one of his arms was missing; disbelief and shock filled his expression.
He grabbed his scythe; however, the black spheres were still raining down, and he only had one arm left.
With no way to defend himself, he could only watch helplessly as Adel’s sword approached.
Dark Mana covered Adel’s sword, and then he swung it with all his strength, not before murmuring:
"Annihilation."
The Power of Chaos disappeared from the villain’s body, and Adel completed his attack.
Clank! Clank!
A barrage of strikes tore through the villain’s body as chunks of flesh fell to the ground.
His body, which had already been a complete mess, now looked like a true slaughterhouse.
The spheres disappeared shortly afterward, and Adel stopped moving as his ragged breathing echoed through the now-silent underground.
"Ah... ah... even with 6-Star Endurance... I’ve reached my limit."
The combination of his Traits, his Sword Art, and some of the functions of his new armor made the battle to kill the Class 7 villain much easier and faster.
The armor had only one function.
It was absolute defense.
It could block any type of attack three times a day.
Although, at the beginning of the fight, the Class 7 villain had only managed to hit him once.
Due to his senses and other Traits, the villain never had the opportunity to touch Adel’s body with his scythe.
"Alright, now I need to heal both of them."
He quickly ran toward the cell where Alessia and Zoey were being held.
***
When I arrived at the cell and stepped inside, I noticed the thick smell of blood.
Different kinds of tools, not designed for torture but for the amusement of a madman, were scattered everywhere.
I walked toward a table where Alessia and Zoey lay. At some point, they seemed to have lost consciousness.
I used my senses, and fortunately, their hearts were still beating, although weakly and almost imperceptibly.
After approaching them, I searched their bodies for a suitable area to use my blood.
"Ah, here."
For my blood to take effect, it doesn’t necessarily need to touch a vital area directly.
However, the person must have a wound deep enough for my blood to enter forcefully and take effect immediately.
If I let my blood drip onto a normal wound, its effect would take longer, and on someone with severe injuries on the verge of death, it might arrive too late.
So it’s better to pour my blood into a deep wound, just as I did with Clana.
Drip! Drip!
My blood fell onto their wounds. Shortly afterward, both girls’ limbs regenerated in less than a second.
Next, the minor wounds, the serious injuries, and the extremely deep wounds covering the rest of their bodies also regenerated.
Then I used my senses and, sure enough, their hearts began beating at a normal rhythm.
’Phew, I arrived just in time.’
Perhaps if I had taken longer to kill the Class 7 villain, I would have arrived too late.
Even if I didn’t have the Traits that give me an enormous advantage against villains, it would have taken me too long, and I might have ended up seriously injured.
’At least he wasn’t a very strong villain. He was probably a Mid-Stage Class 7.’
Like Awakened individuals, villains also had different stages that marked the difference in their power.
’Even so, facing a Class 7 is still very dangerous. If I advance to 5 Stars, I won’t have much to worry about.’
Fortunately, once the first semester ends, I’ll make my move to advance to 5 Stars.
A few seconds later, I heard a groan.
"Uhm..."
I noticed that Zoey was the first to wake up. I approached her and said,
"You’re alright now, don’t worry."
A few seconds later, Alessia also woke up. Both girls sat up, rubbing their temples, and shortly afterward, they looked at me.
"What... what happened? I thought I had died."
"Yeah, this is... really strange, and I feel great..."
A smile formed behind my mask as I said,
"You’re both fine now, don’t worry. Ah, and I need you to head north, outside Black City. There’s a cave there, and the other members of your Club are probably already there."
There was no time to waste. Now that I had saved Alessia and Zoey, it was time to set the final stage of my plan in motion.
’I need those seven rings.’
