Chapter 16: Get Rid Of Her
A few hours back in Las Vegas...
Vivian walked into the living room, pulling on her wedding dress with passive-aggressive intent.
Logan walked behind her with a slight shock still written on his face after seeing the one person he thought he’d managed to get rid of for two months.
Clara walked in with her basket of flowers from her role as a flower girl, her cheeks sunken.
"Why didn’t Mummy stay longer at the wedding?" Clara suddenly asked and Vivian’s head quickly spun to her as if she’d just uttered a curse word. "She didn’t even look at me."
"She’s not your mother!" Vivian seethed. "She’s not the one who gave birth to you. I did!!"
Clara jolted up, quickly running and hiding behind her father while peeking out as if there was a monster in front of her.
"You need to calm down. You can’t vent out your anger on Clara. She did nothing to you."
Vivian huffed as she slumped onto the couch.
Logan turned to Clara whose eyes were already brimming with tears.
"Mummy is not in a good mood right now. Go upstairs, shower, and sleep, okay?"
Clara gave a stiff nod as she sniffled in her tears.
With a slight peek at Vivian, she quickly took off and ran up the stairs.
After making sure that Clara was no longer in a close listening range, Logan turned to Vivian.
"Will you try to control your temper?" Logan snapped, his rage spiking. "You don’t have to vent your anger on Clara. She did nothing to you."
"She did!" Vivian bit out. "I’m her real mother. She knows it now so why would she continue to call Vivian mummy?"
Logan sighed as he pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration.
"You do realize that we have a much bigger problem at hand right?" He demanded. "Arianna is alive."
Vivian’s face instantly paled. Arianna being alive was completely unexpected. Her presence at her wedding was not only shocking, but also nerve-racking. If it wasn’t for one thing, Vivian was sure she would have pissed her pants.
"I told you to burn her body or at least bury her so we wouldn’t have to face this kind of issue in the future. Now look," she yelled. "She’s alive!!"
"Will you stop yelling?! The servants are going to hear you!"
Vivian reared back, shrinking.
Logan rubbed his temple in frustration.
"Look, I know that this is bad news for both of us but there’s nothing to be afraid of," he said which earned him a confused look from Vivian.
"What’s that supposed to mean? She’s alive and she could tell people the things we did to her and how we tried to get her killed."
Logan shook his head. "She’ll need evidence before anyone will believe her," he explained.
Vivian’s frown only deepened further.
"And besides, we already took everything she owns. All of her properties have been signed into my name. Her shares of the company are also transferred to me. So even if she wanted to hire a lawyer and take us to court, she can’t afford one."
Vivian thought about it.
They’d taken away everything that she owned that night. So they were off the radar, for now.
She was supposed to be happy but how can she be when Arianna was still alive?
The way she smiled at them earlier made her skin crawl. It was as if she were staring at a lifeless soul.
It sent chills down her spine.
"But..." Vivian paused. "But she’s still alive." Then she glanced around, making sure that none of the servants were listening to their conversation. "Should we try to kill her off?"
Logan was shocked that Arianna was alive. And even though he’d calmed himself down by reminding himself that she was a nobody now with no money, Logan still had to remember that Arianna was a smart woman.
He’d known her for seven years, and she certainly wasn’t the type to give up on a mission once she was determined to achieve a particular thing.
He knew that because he was evidence of it. She never once gave up on him and continued to help him thrive until he could stand on his own two feet. So, he was sure that if she really wanted to make him pay for what he’d done to her, she would find a way.
But then again, Arianna didn’t have any family members. When he met her, she’d told him she often had no living relative to take her in.
A grin stretched on her lips. No one can help her and no one will believe her even if she reveals to the world that he’d tried to kill her.
"Yes, we’ll try again. But you’ll have to leave that for me." His gaze fell on her flat belly, a smile tugging on the corners of his lips. "You just relax. I’ll handle it."
Logan might have told her to relax, but Vivian found herself unable to do so.
Arianna was a dangerous woman. But she also had to remind herself that Arianna was already stripped of all the power and money she once had.
A smile grazed Vivian’s lips.
"Alright then, I’ll leave that to you," she said as she walked up to him and placed a soft kiss on her lips. "Meet me upstairs later. It’s our wedding night after all."
Logan smiled like a fool.
He could never get tired of Vivian even though she wasn’t the one who built him into the man he was today.
But that was the most interesting part. freewёbnoνel.com
All she needed to do was lift a finger and he would come running to her like a dog in heat.
Then she turned and walked up the stairs, the tension finally dissipating. freewebnovёl.ƈom
Once she was out of sight, Logan reached into his pocket and retrieved his phone.
He made a phone call, gave a few instructions, and finally, he sent a picture to the person on the other side.
"Make sure you get the job done and don’t leave any traces behind." Then he hung up.
