Chapter 956: Chapter 956: Peerless Delicacy

Victor Ford was the first to come over and greet.

"Goddess! You’re setting up a stall too? We thought you were preparing for Professor Osborne’s topic for tonight."

Summer Monroe shrugged and said, "Anyway, I can’t guess what topic he’ll pick, so there’s not much to prepare. Have you had lunch? Want to buy a portion of dumplings? It’s fifty."

"Fifty? That’s a bit pricey."

Summer, skillfully slicing ginger, said, "Don’t worry, you won’t lose out paying fifty. Once you eat a bowl, you’ll definitely buy a second one."

"That confident?"

"Uh-huh. I’m more confident in my cooking than my studies."

With that, Victor promptly handed over a hundred dollar bill: "I’ll take a portion!"

Summer smiled and turned to Bella: "Bella, get a bowl ready."

"Got it!" Bella swiftly took out disposable bowls and chopsticks.

It was their first sale, and Bella was more nervous than the first time she took a life-or-death task, with beads of sweat on her forehead.

Summer, on the other hand, was incredibly calm.

She placed the minced filling into the bowl according to the ratio, then wiped her hands before stirring the large pot.

As she stirred, the chubby dumplings followed along, playful and cute, adding a touch of liveliness like children frolicking in a pool.

Watching this, Victor began looking forward to the dumplings he often ate.

"Floating means they’re cooked, right?" Victor asked.

Summer shook her head.

That’s not enough; the dumplings were frozen. Their outer part cooked while the inside remained raw.

She added water again, and only when the water boiled for the third time did Summer clap her hands and say, "Okay, they’re done."

She scooped up the now-floating dumplings into a bowl, then drizzled a layer of hot oil she had prepared beforehand over the sauce. With a sizzle, the fragrant aroma of dumplings and sauce immediately rose.

Victor’s face was overwhelmed with the aroma, making him drool a little.

He quickly wiped away the drool from the corner of his mouth when no one was paying attention and laughed, "They look pretty good; I wonder how they taste."

"Try them." Summer handed over the bowl, which contained exactly ten dumplings.

Victor eagerly took the bowl and immediately stuffed one into his mouth.

The freshly cooked dumplings were still very hot, causing him to wince. Just as he instinctively wanted to spit it out, an impeccable umami flavor burst in his mouth.

Victor’s eyes lit up instantly, ignoring the hotness, swallowing it whole.

Though the dumpling was down, he didn’t fully savor the taste.

Quickly, he picked up another one, learning to blow on it a couple of times before putting it into his mouth.

This time, he finally tasted the full flavor.

As a food enthusiast, Victor recognized the dumplings were filled with a trinity mixture—made with hand-chopped pork with a ratio of three parts fat to seven parts lean, shrimp ground into paste, combined with sterile egg liquid, and adding a bit of tender bamboo shoots. Not only did it retain the original flavor of all the ingredients, mixing them created an unparalleled umami.

The dumpling skins, thin enough to be measured in millimeters, were packed full of stuffing, and one bite sent the juices splashing everywhere. Accompanying it was the carefully drizzled hot oil, bringing all flavors together—an indescribable pinnacle of taste.

Right now, Victor had only one thought in his mind: He had never eaten dumplings this delicious!

"How is it?" Summer asked, "Okay?"

Victor, reluctantly swallowing the dumpling, said, "Goddess, I think this fifty, the price is too low!"
