Chapter 955: Chapter 955: Setting Up a Booth on the Sports Field
Mrs. Grant and Willow both noticed this.
While Susan Stone went to the restroom, Willow packaged the cookies and handed them to the students buying them, whispering to Mrs. Grant, "Mom, I never expected your baking skills would come in handy at my school. Everyone thinks your cookies and desserts are delicious."
"Of course," Mrs. Grant smiled. "When you have time, you should relearn some cooking skills. You need to win a man’s stomach before you can win his heart."
Willow snorted and said, "What should I learn? Making dumplings?"
The mother and daughter shared a glance and laughed disdainfully in sync.
Dumplings are something that is entirely not presentable. Summer Monroe actually had the nerve to bring them here to sell, truly shameless.
Mrs. Grant lifted her chin arrogantly and said, "Such low-class things are naturally made by low-class people."
Willow couldn’t help but smile, saying, "Since so many people are coming, let’s set the price a bit higher. I want to win this charity flea market prize."
"That’s what I was planning too; if we’re doing it, we should do it the best."
Her daughter, of course, deserves the highest prize.
Very soon, they raised the price. A small box of cookies was priced at fifty.
But the buyers soon started to complain.
"Fifty? That’s too expensive!"
Willow smiled and explained, "It’s charity; you can enjoy our delicious baked goods while doing charity. Isn’t that a great deal?"
"That’s true, but fifty is still too much. There are only ten cookies in the box."
"Think of it as charity, not a purchase. Fifty can help rebuild schools for children in the mountain regions, isn’t that a great cause? Are you unwilling to donate even fifty to those impoverished students?"
Under Willow’s constant persuasion and moral pressure, the girl reluctantly paid.
"Fifty bucks in the bag!" Willow made an "OK" gesture and laughed happily with Mrs. Grant.
This way, they just need to sell another third of the cookies, and others shouldn’t be able to surpass their charity amount.
Meanwhile, Summer Monroe’s stall finally got set up.
She arrived a bit late, unlike Mrs. Grant who had security guards reserve a spot, so her stall was on the very edge, with only a few passersby.
But compared to Willow’s side, which was tense and determined to win, Summer’s stall was filled with laughter and joy.
More than the prize, Summer cared about whether everyone enjoyed the food and their reaction to the dumplings, not caring at all about winning.
Bella was quite the chatterbox and could perform a whole skit by herself, making even the rarely laughing Cece burst out laughing.
"Alright, stop fooling around, time to get serious. Let’s bring out the dumplings," Summer ordered, and the bodyguard immediately brought over a small freezer.
She directly cooked up a big pot of dumplings on the spot and made the dipping sauce live.
Cece looked at Summer placing the dumplings in the pot even before anyone bought them, hesitantly asking, "Isn’t that too much? I think it’s better to cook one serving first for everyone to try, and cook more if they want to buy. Otherwise, we might end up with a pot of leftover dumplings."
"No, people will come and buy," Summer said as she took off the sun hat that covered most of her face.
Since she was regarded by many as a genius, she could occasionally use that title to her advantage.
As soon as her radiant face was revealed, people immediately noticed their stall.
