Chapter 2430: Chapter 2428: Medusa

Caesar’s arrows launched in a rapid succession, with two aiming for the monster’s eyes and one for its abdomen.

The monster unleashed a surge of Gang Qi, with a muffled bang, repelling all three of Caesar’s arrows.

He shouted an order, "Quick, kill it!"

The soldiers raised their long spears, releasing electric sparks that surged towards the monster.

The monster’s fur emitted a burst of golden light, blocking all the electric sparks.

It roared ferociously, "Anyone who can’t answer to me, Stickfin, will find only death."

With a feral howl, it sent a fierce gale that scattered the knights like leaves, blowing them away in all directions.

Finally, it opened its sharp claws, reaching towards Long Fei who stood at the front.

Knight Captain Caesar shouted in panic, "Quick, dodge it!"

Long Fei did not move, he merely extended his hand.

With a slap, a Void Seal appeared, a gigantic handprint pushing the monstrous Stickfin to the ground like a piece of paper.

The ground’s rocks were scattered by the enormous force, sand and dust flew skyward.

The body of Stickfin burst like a balloon, collapsing into a mass of mud on the ground.

"A mere Griffin spirit, does it need to be so arrogant?"

Long Fei shook his head, as if handling something trivial.

Caesar and the knights climbed up from the ground, staring in shock at the scene before them.

Such a fierce Divine Beast, yet in front of Long Fei, it was no stronger than a kitten.

Paris brandished his longsword, laughing, "I always said, Master is a true god, any false god is powerless before him."

The knights began to believe, looking at Long Fei with a hint of reverence.

They continued forward, entering a valley.

Inside stood numerous stone pillars, reminiscent of a Stone Forest.

Lin Yingying examined these pillars and remarked, "These pillars look quite like people."

"They’re not just like people, they really are people."

Long Fei chuckled.

Lin Yingying exclaimed in surprise, "Real people?"

She reached out and tapped a stone pillar, breaking off a piece to inspect, "Isn’t this just a stone?"

Long Fei said, "This place is filled with earth energy, someone has used it to turn them into stone."

Helis, nearby, spoke nervously, "I heard from my father that atop the Divine Mountain lives a goddess named Medusa. She’s very beautiful but has snakes for hair. Anyone who looks at her will turn to stone."

"That’s easy, if we meet her, we just won’t look at her, right?"

Paris lifted his longsword.

Helis said, "But her voice will tempt you to open your eyes, people can’t resist her."

While they were talking, enchanting singing echoed from within the valley.

The song sounded like a beautiful instrument playing, making everyone’s ears feel immediately soothed.

They looked around and continued forward, following the song.

A figure suddenly appeared ahead, and the singing grew much closer.

They glanced around and saw a woman dressed in a black veil and barefoot suddenly appear before them.

Her figure was graceful, her head wrapped in a scarf, with a smiling invitation, "You’ve arrived, come sit at my home! Climbing the mountain is tiring, have a drink of water before you go."

Helis looked at her suspiciously, "Are you Medusa?"

The woman shook her head, "Who is Medusa, I’ve never heard of her."

"Stop, don’t come near us!"

Helis sternly commanded, "Dare you remove your scarf?"

"Little girl, that’s very rude!"

The woman smiled wickedly at Helis.

Helis immediately turned her gaze away, "I will not look at you."

"Really?"

The woman’s figure moved ghost-like beside Helis.

"Be careful!"

Paris tried to draw his sword but was swiftly knocked away by the woman.

Helis closed her eyes and shouted, "Everyone don’t look at her, turn your heads away."

Caesar and the knights quickly turned, weapons in hand but not daring to look.

The woman clasped Helis’ shoulders, whispering in her ear, "Didn’t you want to see me take off the scarf? Why aren’t you looking now?"

Her headscarf slipped, revealing a head of venomous snakes.

The snake heads flicked their tongues, grazing Helis’ face.

Helis’ brow furrowed in panic, something within urging her to open her eyes.

A hand suddenly patted her shoulder from behind the woman, "Hey, is this fun?"

The woman startled, turning swiftly.

Long Fei and his group stood behind her, bored, eating fruits she had planted there.

Her snakes bristled, shocked at Long Fei and Lin Yingying, "Where did you pick those fruits?"

Long Fei pointed behind, "From your home! These fruits are good, nourished with Essence Blood, eating one delays aging, right?"

"You two thieves!"

The woman grew angry, her eyes emitting an earthy glow, focusing on Long Fei’s gaze.

"I’ll turn you into stone!"

She shouted sharply, raising a circle of earthy light to surround Long Fei.

Long Fei remained unresponsive, raising his sword and slicing across her neck.

With a thud, a cut appeared on the woman’s neck.

Her head impossibly tilted to the side, separating from her body and rolling to the ground.

"How is this possible?"

Her severed head could still speak.

Among the writhing snakes, it rolled in terror towards the front.

Long Fei pointed a finger, flames ignited on the snake-headed skull, transforming it into a fiery ball rolling on the ground.

The head screamed in pain, absorbing surrounding Earth Elemental Force to extinguish the fire.

Long Fei raised his hand, grabbing the head, considering, "This might be useful as a Magical Weapon."

If this head were mounted, it could stone foes upon confrontation.

This would make a remarkable Magical Treasure.

Helis sighed in relief, rushed back to lift Paris.

The group still stared in wonder at the monster’s remaining body as it gradually petrified into a stone pillar.

Helis confirmed, "She is Medusa, the goddess of temptation on Mount Olympus. Anyone who succumbs to her temptation turns to stone with her here. When she spoke earlier, I nearly fell for it."

"You have good resolve then!"

Long Fei chuckled, pointing to Paris’ shield, "Give me your shield."

Paris hesitated not, respectfully handing over the shield.

Flames erupted from Long Fei’s hand as he tossed the snake-filled head into it, fusing it with the shield.

With a scream, a face quickly took shape on the shield.

This face had no eyes, only pupils showing.

Long Fei returned the shield to Paris, instructing him on its usage.

Paris eagerly took it, raising the shield, "Open eyes!"

The shield indeed revealed two eyes.

Should these eyes fix on a foe’s eyes, they would turn to stone instantly.
