Chapter 76: White-Class Dorm

Mika arrived at the academy.

As it was already night with the moon shining up there, no students were currently in sight.

Thus, he headed to the dorms.

"Hm? What are they all doing at this hour?" Mika asked with squinted eyes.

Near his dorm, multiple students seemed to relax on the benches around the building. But what caught his attention the most was the fact that the students wore either silver or red uniforms.

Mika felt more confused than nervous and decided to continue.

"!"

However, as soon as he took another step, someone grabbed him by the shoulder from behind.

His body jolted at that moment and Mika quickly jumped away.

"Who ar- Hng!"

Mika was about to raise his voice but was stopped when his mouth was kept shut with a hand.

"We have to be silent or else they will spot you."

Mika widened his eyes after he got a clear glimpse at the person, who approached him.

It was none other than Belian Ziva, a white-class student, who pressed his hand against Mika’s mouth.

He directed his gaze cautiously at the students near the dorm.

"Follow me." Belian said and turned his back on Mika.

He was still confused about the situation he found himself in after returning to the academy, but nonetheless, he thought that it was for the best to listen to Belian for now.

"..."

Mika was walking behind Belian, who shifted his gaze from time to time to one side and then to the other side.

"Can you explain what’s happening? Or rather, what happened in the past month?"

"My apologies. You were away for a month because of a mission, right? I know that you must be puzzled now, but please be patient a little longer. We will answer every question of yours when we arrive." Belian replied.

"I see... Fine, then."

On their way, they spotted a few other groups of students and every time they saw them, they changed their route.

But after a while, they finally arrived at their destination.

"Isn’t that the dorms for the white class?"

"Yes. You may come in." Belian said as he entered it.

"..."

Usually, one would take around 10 to 15 minutes from Mika’s dorm to theirs. And yet, it took them almost an hour to reach this place today.

Mika stepped inside.

"Amazing..." he muttered stunned.

From the outside, the building already looked elegant and clean. The building was white and engraved with golden fine lines and patterns. Compared to Mika’s dorm, this one was a lot smaller, having only up to three stories.

Inside, the dorm was decorated with luxurious furniture and a silky and soft red carpet. The generous space was mostly vast and only decorated to a bare minimum with a few expensive-looking portraits and golden vases.

"You may take a seat." Belian offered, showing the couch in the middle of the room.

Mika looked around.

Unlike his dorm, there was no real floor with multiple rooms in it. Rather than that, there was a lounge for people to relax with a door, most likely leading into a room, on each of the lounge’s sides. There were also stairs for the upper stories. However due to the interior’s structure, one could look from the parterre up to the ceiling because there was nothing in the center of the upper stories.

While Mika took a seat, as Belian suggested, Belian was staring at the clock.

"They should be here soon..." he murmured.

"..."

Mika’s eyes were focused on the upper levels.

"Is there even enough space for all the white-class students at the academy?"

He roughly guessed that only up to 10 people could live here.

"No, not every white-class student. Different from the other dorms and classes, white-class students are assigned to a place specially made for the corresponding year, meaning that this place is the dorm for only white-class students of our year."

"I see..." Mika said with a sigh of relief.

"Were you worried that Xander Maystra would be here?" Belian asked.

"Yeah, kind of."

At that moment, someone opened the door.

"We are back~"

Mika turned his neck to the door and saw Rachel Troa, who came inside yawning, with Harik Srong walking behind her. And even though it was dark outside, Harik still wore his sunglasses.

"Welcome back, you two." Belian greeted them stoically.

The two of them raised their eyebrows when they noticed Mika. freewёbnoνel.com

"Mika Elbar..." Rachel muttered shocked.

"Oh, hello. I’m Mika Elbar, nice to meet you." Mika introduced himself after he stood up.

Then, Harik approached him. He stood right in front of Mika.

"C-can I help you...?"

"Let’s fight."

"Huh?"

"Since the day of your match against Belian, I wanted to test my skills against you so let-"

"Harik, this is not the time now." Belian cut him off.

On his words, Harik pulled back.

"For now, let’s have a seat, everyone."

There were three couches for two persons each. Those couches were placed like a triangle with a small table in the middle.

Mika sat alone on a couch with Harik and Rachel sitting across from him together. Belian also sat solely on a couch.

"..."

"I-is something wrong...?"

Mika felt nervous and embarrassed at the same time as Rachel was staring holes in him.

"Rachel."

"Oh, excuse me."

And just like Harik, she fixed her behavior on Belian’s command.

"Are there any news?" Belian asked the two.

"No, just like the past few days, those from the black class went to their dorms early, whereas the other classes are taking shifts to keep an eye on them." Rachel stated.

"?"

Mika tilted his head.

"That means that today there were no casualties?"

"Yes." freewebnoveℓ.com

"Alright, good work." Belian said sternly.

"H-hold on a second... Can someone brief me in? What happened to the black class and why are the other classes patrolling the grounds?" Mika asked puzzled with a forced grin.

The three other students looked at each other.

"..."

"Well, how should we say..."

Harik and Rachel did not know how to explain it to Mika.

"There is an internal dispute between the classes of our year. It’s mainly the black versus the silver and red class." Belian said.

"Did it already escalate so much...?" Mika murmured pensively.

Mika knew that there was tension between those classes since the beginning, however, he did not expect it to get worse so quickly.

"So you knew a little about it?"

"Yes, I only know that they often got into arguments back then because of the difference in skills."

"I see. That makes things a lot easier to explain."

Belian continued.

"We still don’t know what caused the sudden change, but during the past month, they started to get into more and more disputes. Some were verbal and some even ended up physical. And since a week ago, the union between the silver and red class started to keep their eyes on the black-class students even after the day at the academy is over."

"We came to the conclusion that they’re trying to intimidate them and to break them mentally. Really, what a bunch of fools..." Harik said disgusted.

"But sadly, they have success with this strategy. It was the day before yesterday when we learned that someone went so far as to drop out because the person couldn’t handle the constant harassment." Rachel added with scorn.

Mika clenched his fists tightly as he listened to them.

"Multiple students from the black class are dealing with injuries and thus getting treated in the infirmary. The other students go straight to their dorms after lessons because they are scared to be outside." she said.

"The three of us are trying to help students in need, while we try to find the root of this conflict." Belian stated.

"The root?"

"Yes, as of now it’s unclear who or what started this. The red and silver classes say that the black class started it, whereas the black class told us a different story."

"It’s a mess..." Rachel remarked.

"Even when they go outside and stroll through the city, chaos is ensured with those two parties present." Harik said with a shoulder shrug.

"So this explains all those notifications at the restaurants..." Mika murmured, sounding enlightened.

And then, he stood up.

"I more or less get the gist of the story, but I still want to see it with my own eyes. Thanks for telling me, everyone."

After he thanked them, he was about to leave.

"Wait, where are you going?" Belian asked.

"I’m going home, of course."

"Are you serious? You’re their greatest target! Going outside now would escalate this matter even further!" Rachel explained.

"I know. But I still want to go. There’s something I have to see for myself."

His expression was stern.

After all, it was a month since he was in his dorm. And based on what he knew, Gerard and the others were back.

Thus, Gerard was possibly in the dorm right now.

And even if he knew that he was fine, Mika wanted to confirm it with his own eyes.
