Chapter 75: Grand Order
The sun almost disappeared completely from the horizon when Mika finally arrived in Loogam.
He opened the small hatchet in the carriage.
"I can walk from here. Thank you."
The driver stopped and let Mika out. Mika took out his luggage and thanked the driver again before he left him behind.
"..."
He stretched his back and took a deep breath.
[What do you want to do now? It’s late already.]
"Well, I guess I just wanted to take a quick stroll around here while I walk back to the academy."
Mika began to walk.
As the academy grounds were located in the middle of the city, Mika only had to walk in a straight line to reach it.
But as he was rarely in the city itself, he thought that it would be nice to take a look around the market, buildings and the people.
The sun was dawning, but there were still quite a few people outside.
However, Mika felt something strange.
"Is it just me or are the people wary of me...?" he muttered confused.
The people in his vicinity created some distance between them and him. Some of them averted their gaze from Mika, while others straight up looked at him with hostility.
Still in the unknown, he decided to move forward.
Then, he arrived at a place in the city, where dozens of restaurants and pubs were.
At first, he walked past them without any thought, but after a few restaurants, he noticed a piece of paper at the entrance of a restaurant.
"?"
He looked back and saw that all the restaurants he just passed by also had some kind of paper on their doors.
Mika came closer and read its content.
"!"
His eyes widened stunningly.
"What the heck happened here...?"
The notice contained the following message:
Students from Loogam are prohibited here.
"..."
Mika checked the other papers from the other restaurants and pubs, but it was the same every time.
Students from Loogam are prohibited here.
At that point, Mika had no idea what the cause was.
However, he will soon learn the reason. After all, tomorrow was his first day back in the academy.
And unbeknownst to him, he will soon be in the center of all of that. ƒгeewёbnovel.com
The people from here call it just a small dispute among children and others called this a war.
It was a conflict between the black and two other classes.
It was a first-year conflict.
Meanwhile at Olivia’s mansion in Fuera.
"..."
She was tapping her index finger constantly on the table. Her head rested on the other hand. Unusually, she did not have a smirk on her face and her eyes were narrowed.
The grumpy Olivia was currently in a spacious room, which only had a long table with chairs in it.
While she sat at the table’s end, two other people sat on each side of her, making it a total of five people in the room.
One of those other four people had dark green shoulder-length hair and eyes. He calmly took a sip from his teacup, which slightly fogged up his glasses.
His name was Lereon Pantl, a member of the Grand Order.
Across from him sat a man in his thirties, who had his eyes closed and his arms crossed.
That man had long black hair, which he tied into a ponytail. He wore a skintight black shirt, stressing his well-toned body, and loose grey pants.
Next to Lereon was a woman, who seemed the same age as Olivia.
She had short white hair, which was slicked back, and round pale blue eyes.
For a woman, she was on the taller side. Her arms were not particularly muscular but also not frail. She had a thin waist and a modest-sized chest.
Even though it was neither hot nor cold, the woman wore a blue knitted sweater underneath her black jacket with thick white fur on the collar. Like Olivia, she paired her black leather pants with black high heels.
With her hands in her pockets, she looked at the other woman across from her.
That woman was in her seventies. She had wrinkles all over her body and her hair, which was tied into a bun, was grey.
Her body was small and seemed frail.
She wore simple clothes, which were similar to clothes one would wear in a small village.
With her dark blue eyes and a kind facial expression, she gazed into the tea cup before she drank.
"Not only did you spontaneously announce a meeting, but you also had the nerve to declare my mansion as the meeting spot..." Olivia grumbled.
"We chose this place because we knew that you wouldn’t come either way." the warmly dressed woman replied bluntly.
"Tch... Let’s do this quickly then."
She looked at Lereon.
"Want to brief us in, Lereon?"
"Why me?" he asked with a calm composure.
"Aren’t people with glasses usually the ones to do the annoying things, like giving status reports and leading a meeting?"
"..."
He pushed his glasses up a little.
"My apologies, but as long as it’s not an order then I-"
"It’s an order." Olivia cut him off with a small devilish grin.
"..."
He sighed.
"Heh, you sure like to abuse your position, don’t you?" the other woman huffed.
"Are you jealous, Elsa?"
"Not even after millions of years will there be a moment in my life where I would feel jealous of you."
Sparks flew between the two as they kept grinning at each other maliciously.
"Would you be so kind and stop your little fight, girls?"
It was the older woman, who asked them.
Despite her voice sounding gentle and soft, Olivia and Elsa sensed the intimidation behind her words.
"Fine, Ms. Waret."
"I apologize in Elsa’s place."
"?!"
Elsa stood up and slammed her hands on the table.
"Hey, Olivia you-"
"Girls."
The dark blue eyes sharpened.
"..."
"..."
They stared at her. Olivia’s smirk turned into a thin straight line and Elsa calmed down before she sat down again.
"Lereon, if you may." the old woman signaled Lereon.
"Yes."
He stood up and went to the table’s other end in order to have a look at every one.
"Then, I welcome you to another meeting of the Grand Order."
The Grand Order.
It was an elite troupe consisting of the strongest people with each one representing a magic element.
They specialize in quests, which were too hard and dangerous for the average S-rank mage. Most of those quests contained demon subjugation.
"I’m glad that everyone was able to attend."
His eyes wandered to each person starting with the other man in the room, Zhen Bugar, the fire mage.
To his left was the old woman, Dura Waret, the water mage.
Across from her was Elsa Sunoma, the ice mage.
And sitting at the other side of the table was the captain of the troupe, Olivia Rostanta, the lightning mage.
With Lereon Pantl, the plant mage, five of seven magic elements were represented.
"As you have probably noticed, it’s only us five currently. Ythar Thren, who held the position as the earth mage, retired from the battlefield a short while ago and decided to spend time with his family. In addition to him, Max Straym, the previous wind mage, was forced to leave this troupe as he broke a rule."
"Which rule did he break again? We have so many unnecessary rules, I can’t remember every last one of them." Olivia said disinterested.
"Hey, shouldn’t you at least put some effort into that as our captain?" Elsa remarked.
Lereon cleared his throat again to gain their attention.
"One rule was that as soon as someone from us gets defeated by a person wielding the same magic, we have to leave the group." ƒreewebηoveℓ.com
That way, the Grand Order could maintain their position as the strongest troupe with the strongest people.
"So without further ado, I shall proceed to today’s main topic. Filling the missing spots."
"As Ythar retired on his own accord, we have to look out for someone who can take his position here."
Olivia nodded her head once.
"Zhen, didn’t you mention that you were already looking for someone?" she asked.
Zhen opened his eyes, revealing his red eyes.
"Yes, but as of now my search was futile."
"I see."
"Hey, what about the vacant spot for the wind mage title? Did you already find someone, Lereon?" Elsa asked.
"I didn’t need to search for someone, after all that person was the one who beat Max Straym in the first place."
"So who is it? Tell us the name." Elsa said eagerly with her patience almost reaching its end.
"The one, who will replace Max Straym is still a student and could be considered as the youngest person to ever join our ranks."
"Heh, how ironic that you, the current holder of this record, have to announce this." Olivia mocked Lereon.
He fixed his glasses again.
"As of now, he is a second-year student at the magic academy Loogam."
He narrowed his eyes.
"And his name is Xander Maystra."
