Chapter 186: Class Representatives

"Hrngh..." Mika groaned silently as he came to his senses.

"Finally awake?" Ophelia asked indifferently while going through documents.

Mika, who found himself in a bed in an unoccupied room with nothing but beds lined up, lifted his upper body slowly.

He gently caressed his chest.

"..."

Not too long ago, he was still in the midst of the hand-to-hand combat class when Payl suddenly ambushed him. Mika remembered that he was controlling the fight until Payl surprised him with his dagger. His dagger, which Mika concluded to be most likely a relic, passed right through his defense and stabbed him in the chest.

However, before he lost consciousness, Mika transformed and nullified the effects of Payl’s dagger with Excalibur, which caused both of them to repel each other.

The next thing Mika knew was that he landed in the infirmary.

"Since when were you able to fight like my sister?" Ophelia asked while still keeping her eyes on the documents.

"Since recently..." Mika replied softly, not having the heart to confess to her that he copied her fighting style.

"I see."

It seemed like she understood that Mika did not want to elaborate yet.

"Concerning the upcoming match between the students, I have already tried to settle on a line-up."

"?"

"Thanks to the queen’s permission, I was allowed to look at the local students’ data. Now, I have a rough idea of who will represent the academy of Youra."

The documents she was holding in her hands were said data.

"As strange as it sounds, their potential representatives consist of mainly first-years. Here, take a look. But I guess, you don’t really need to..." she said, whispering the last part.

"..."

Mika held three reports in his hands and it did not take long until he expressed his annoyance.

"Asak Jun..." he muttered.

"He is a formidable student, who specializes in hand-to-hand combat. To be honest, while watching your recent match against him, I thought that you would lose."

Mika did not comment on that as he knew for himself that it was true what she had just said. If he had not copied Olivia’s combat style, then he would have surely lost.

He looked at the other report.

"Ugh..."

But it was not better.

"Payl Krun. He is currently repeating his third year here. Even though he is lacking in some areas compared to others, his skills with his relic shoots him up to being one of the top students here." Ophelia explained.

Still, it was the next student, who could prove to be the most troublesome of the batch.

"Sara?"

"Yes... Even though she is temporarily enlisted as a student here, she’s technically a student of Youra..." she said exhaustedly, shaking her head.

Mika massaged his forehead before returning the reports to Ophelia.

"So what kind of line-up do you have in mind?" he asked nonchalantly.

"As we have to fight against Sara, I thought that we should put our best students to the front."

"And these would be...?"

Ophelia leaned forward a little.

"I was planning to announce you, Belian and Lisa as our representatives."

"..."

Mika was pondering as he put his finger on his chin.

Certainly, among the seven white-class students, Belian and Mika were the strongest. And as he had to face Lisa once in the past, he could tell that she was strong. Still, he did not know for sure if she was a better choice than Sylvia, for example. However, he trusted Ophelia’s decision as she had most likely more information about Lisa as she was a teacher.

"Sounds good to me." Mika said calmly.

"Alright. I was planning to tell everyone about this tomorrow."

She got up from her chair.

"Stay here for the day and rest. The others will visit you soon after their classes end."

Mika nodded his head.

"See you then."

She departed with a faint smile on her face.

Then, less than an hour passed until Mika heard loud footsteps.

"Mika, are you alright?!" Rachel asked concernedly as she slammed the door open.

"We have heard that you were heavily injured!" Lily worried.

Behind these two were the rest of the white class, who were passing by them and entered the infirmary.

"I’m fine. There’s nothing to worry about." Mika responded, shrugging his shoulders.

"You sound pretty tough considering your appearance."

"Ouch!"

Sylvia was teasing him and slapped his back.

"H-hey, are you sure about treating him this way...? He’s covered up in bandages...!" Lisa tried to kindly scold Sylvia.

"Don’t worry. He has suffered much worse in the past." Sylvia answered, keeping on slapping Mika on the shoulder this time.

"..."

Mika, whose face was mainly wrapped up in bandages, glared at Sylvia.

"Payl Krun was summoned by the queen. I suppose he will get punished for his action." Belian stated calmly as he took a seat on the chair beside Mika’s bed.

"I see. What about Asak?" Mika asked.

"He was admitted to the other infirmary..." Harik responded softly.

"There are other infirmaries?"

"Yes. I’ve heard that there are a total of four infirmaries scattered on the academy grounds." Lily explained.

"Well, that’s not surprising if one would look at how they were training." Rachel added with a sigh.

"..."

Mika was listening to his friends but he soon found himself in a pretty uncomfortable situation.

"Guys... How about you take a chair or something...?" he asked, holding back to not raise his voice as everyone besides Belian was sitting on Mika’s bed.

But it seemed like everybody ignored him.

What was supposed to be a sick visit turned out to be a regular meeting to hang out.

It was only after an hour of just chitchatting that most of them would leave and return to the inn, where they would be staying for the time being.

"Hm? What’s the matter?" Mika wondered.

Minutes had passed since they were leaving but only Harik and Rachel remained.

"I... I just wanted to spend more time with you... Am I bothering you...?" Rachel asked shyly.

"And I wanted to confine in you..." Harik stated, casting his gaze low. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ

Mika sighed.

"Are you fine with Rachel being here?"

"Y-yes, I guess there’s no problem with that..." Harik replied nervously.

Thus, Harik sat down on the chair while Rachel made herself at home on Mika’s bed.

"..."

Mika wore a stone-like expression even with Rachel trying to cuddle up to Mika.

"S-so what is it that you wanted to talk about?" Mika asked Harik, wearing a shaky smile.

Harik slowly opened his mouth but it was visible that he was struggling to find the right words.

"You see..."

Mika and even Rachel were eager to listen to Harik.

"I originally came from here..." Harik confessed.

"!"

For the two of them, it was a huge surprise.

"I haven’t told anyone yet and I think that nobody aside from the teachers knows that but I was born, raised and went to school here."

It was after those words that Mika could roughly guess what Harik wanted to tell them.

"So you have also known Asak back then?" Mika asked.

Harik nodded his head.

"Thought so..."

Everything started to make sense for Mika as he occasionally noticed Harik feeling uneasy in the presence of Asak and his group.

"Asak and I were close friends back then and my life in general was pretty normal."

Harik took off his shades, revealing his sentimental-looking blue eyes.

"However, due to a certain incident, everything started to crumble..." he began to retell his life as he looked at his sunglasses.

He talked and talked. And Mika and Rachel were listening to him earnestly.

Eventually, the sun was setting. At the same time, Harik was done.

"I see. Thank you for telling us about this." Mika said sternly.

"Those damn-"

Mika pressed his hand against Rachel’s mouth.

While Mika remained calm for most of the time, Rachel was very annoyed for Harik’s sake.

"Hey, you two."

Rachel and Harik looked at Mika, who just came up with an idea.

"As you already know, there will be a match between us and the local students in two weeks."

"Yes, so what about it?" Rachel wondered after Mika let go of her.

"Everyone assumes that you, Belian and Lisa will participate." Harik stated.

Even without Ophelia telling them, the white class came to the same conclusion.

"The opponents will most likely be Asak, Payl and Sara." Mika continued.

"And just like you have said, Belian, Lisa and I are listed as participants for now. However, I think that this is the perfect opportunity to get your revenge, Harik." he added with a confident smile.

"M-me?"

"Show them who you are and that they shouldn’t mess with you or any of us."

Then, Mika shifted his gaze to Rachel.

In the white class, almost everyone was currently getting stronger by each day with Lily showing the most growth. However, Rachel and Harik were still not progressing as much as the others. Thus, Mika decided that this was the best chance to train them and to help them reach the next level.

"Paired with Belian, I want you two to represent our class in two weeks!"
