Chapter 184: Classes In Youra
"I, hereby, declare an official match between the students of Youra and the students of Loogam!"
Obviously, every student was surprised at first.
"In two weeks, we will hold a three-on-three match between the academies. Each side will decide, who will represent them!" Cylia added.
The students of Youra unconsciously shifted their gaze to Asak and Payl, who was still knocked out.
"The assembly is now over! Please, head to your classes!" Cylia closed her speech off.
Then, the students made their way out of the auditorium, whereas the students of Loogam and the Tiam siblings remained for further instructions. Asak and his companions had to carry Payl away.
And after the other teachers were dismissed, Cylia and Ophelia walked over to the group.
"You’re truly an interesting lot." Cylia stated with a faint smirk.
"Haha..." Mika laughed wryly at her comment.
Cylia looked at their uniforms.
"Well, it seems like my children handed you over the uniforms. This makes things easier then. Yarjak."
"Yes."
"You can take them with you now. I can handle the others." she said.
"I understand."
Yarjak looked at Harik, Mika, Belian and Lisa.
"Let me show you to your classes."
The four nodded their heads and followed him, leaving Sylvia, Lily, Rachel and Sara behind.
"Let’s go to your classes, shall we?" Cylia said, taking the lead.
Thus, the others followed her silently.
"Sara, I suppose your brother has already told you but be careful, okay? I have many things to take care of and I don’t really need to hear a report about my daughter getting loose during battle, you hear me?" Cylia reminded Sara, sounding already tired.
"Yes, Mom~" Sara responded annoyedly, rolling her eyes.
And while mother and daughter were talking, the students were talking with their teacher.
"Will you participate in classes, Ms. Ross?" Lily asked.
"No, I will be just here to observe and to keep you all in check." Ophelia replied with a small smile.
"Keep us in check? Why do I feel like you’re treating some of us like monsters...?" Rachel muttered taken aback.
"I don’t think I have to answer a question coming from the girl, who started the entire mess back then." Ophelia sighed.
"I didn’t star-"
But then, Rachel remembered that she was the first one to launch a magic attack on the students, escalating the things there.
"However, as you all may know, the biggest problem child is Mika. Just like today, I can’t anticipate what that idiot will do in the future..." Ophelia elaborated, sounding like she was suffering from a headache.
"And now that we’re in another nation, I’m afraid that he may do something so drastically that it could cause an international scandal..." she continued counting her worries.
Then, the group came to a halt.
"Here we are. Behind these doors, you will find the magic class." Cylia announced proudly.
"If you have any questions you can come to me. My office is not far away from here." she added kindly.
"Hey, they can just ask me, can’t they?" Sara pouted.
"..."
Her own mother looked blankly at her.
"Anyways, I hope you enjoy your time here. And hearing about you, I doubt that you will have any trouble with the level here."
Following those words and the group’s words of gratitude, Cylia walked away.
"Alright, let’s step in, shall we?" Lily asked the group with an excited smile.
"Sure." Rachel replied.
"Let’s go!" Sara yelled.
"..."
Sylvia tugged on her hood as she nodded her head weakly.
Thus, they entered the room.
"..."
And upon entering it, they were instantly the center of attention with everyone glaring at them.
Approximately 30 students, with over 70 percent being girls, were in the room, which was built like the auditorium but just on a smaller scale. Everyone wore the same uniform with the boys wearing black pants instead of skirts.
They were still chatting a few moments ago, waiting for their teacher, who was already at the podium’s desk, to begin the class.
"Alright, everyone! Please take your seats, I will now begin!" the teacher announced.
Obediently, the students sat down, ignoring the students from Loogam and focusing on the teacher.
"So in the end, they are earnest students, huh...?" Ophelia muttered slightly impressed.
"I will leave you guys here for now. I want to check on the other guys." Ophelia told her students, who took the seats in the back.
"S-sure." Lily answered for everyone, still feeling a little uneasy.
Because Cylia briefed her on the locations of each class, Ophelia got a rough idea of where she had to go.
The nearest class would be the weapon combat class, which was held outside the academy.
"..."
While she was walking outside the academy, she looked around, noticing that there were not many differences between Loogam and Youra aside from the climate, the soil and the people. And after a short while, she stumbled upon the sight of a small arena, where the weapon combat class was supposedly held.
"Excuse me." she said quietly as she entered.
However, no one really paid her any attention as the students were already engulfed in their training with their weapons.
They trained on their own with non-lethal weapons, like a wooden sword, while their teacher walked around and instructed them. Some students, who appeared more skilled, even engaged in small sparring sessions with other students. And among those students, she found Lisa and Yarjak exchanging some blows with Lisa wielding a wooden rapier and Yarjak a wooden sword.
But she noticed that a few students around the two kept their distance because of Lisa.
If it was not for Yarjak, then she would have most likely been ignored altogether.
Realizing that there was nothing to worry about, she decided to pay a visit to the last stop. The hand-to-hand combat class. Which was also the class, she was worried about the most.
Fortunately, the class was practically next to the weapon class.
Ophelia went outside the weapon arena and walked over to the wide-open space next to it, where she saw students training in hand-to-hand combat, as the name of the class implied.
That class, however, was even bigger than the other classes with over 50 students in total. They were all sparring against each other currently.
But just like Ophelia imagined, there was trouble with Mika in the center again.
"..."
"..."
Asak, a fellow first-year student of the hand-to-hand combat class, was staring down Mika, who in turn, stared back.
Whereas only Belian and Harik stood beside Mika, dozens of menacing-looking students backed up Asak.
"What do you want?" Mika asked annoyedly.
"Let’s fight." Asak replied.
"Even after you had to witness how I wiped the floor with your supposed boss?" Mika mocked him.
"Of course, we will fight under the rules of this class. Hand-to-hand fight. No magic. No weapons. Got it?"
"..."
Mika turned stern.
"Watch out, Mika. Asak is still one of the top students here." Harik whispered.
Belian sighed.
"I will look for a partner somewhere else then." he stated.
Ophelia raised her eyebrows slightly.
While her other students preferred to stay in the same group, Belian actively searched for a partner from the academy of Youra.
"Hey, you’re Harik, right? Let’s spar!" one of Asak’s companions yelled after noticing that their teacher was heading their way.
"..."
Despite feeling uneasy, Harik agreed to it and created some distance between him and Mika.
Meanwhile, the other students behind Asak also started to spar against each other.
"It’s only us two left, you know?" he grinned.
"Alright, fine..." Mika sighed, scratching the back of his head.
Ophelia even went ahead and searched for a spot she could stay at in order to watch the spar. After all, she had a bad feeling about that. But when she found a spot, where she could lean her back against the wall, she noticed an unconscious Payl, who should not even be here as a third-year student, sitting against the wall.
"..."
She was taken aback by that sight at first.
Other students occasionally shifted their gazes to the two, pretending to spar with someone so that they would not get scolded by the teacher. But unbeknownst to them, their teacher was also keenly interested in the match.
"Can’t they focus on class...?" Mika muttered slightly irritatedly.
"That’s impossible after that little performance of yours." Asak replied sharply while cracked his knuckles and did some stretches.
Then, his demeanor changed as he turned stern and determined.
"Last time you got lucky but today I won’t let myself get beaten by you, just so you know." he declared.
"We will see about that." Mika responded, also turning serious. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ
However, at that point in time, Mika was underestimating Aska tremendously. If the rules were only restricted to hand-to-hand, then even Olivia Ross had to turn serious.
Sara Tiam was hailed as the sword prodigy by everyone.
And even if Asak could not hold a candle to her overall, he was considered the hand-to-hand god among the student body, be it first-years, third years or even teachers.
