Chapter 104: Day 3

"Mhh..."

"Awake again?"

The sun almost disappeared on the horizon as Sara woke up from her nap on the sparring grounds.

Aside from the Tiam siblings, no one was there anymore.

"Is Mika already away~?" she asked while yawning.

"Yes, he went home a long time ago."

Sara got up and stretched her body, letting out a moan.

"And how was he?"

"I couldn’t grasp his full power. In the end, he just used his swordsmanship to beat me."

"Oh, really? Then why didn’t you wake me up after your turn?"

"Don’t be stupid. Knowing you, you would have started to become reckless. Risking an injury here out of all places would be ridiculous."

"But I also want to fight him!" she threw a tantrum like a child.

"Think about Grat for a second, Sara. It’s a miracle that we were allowed to visit this tournament and that’s because you begged Mother every second until she gave us permission."

"..."

Sara was outing as she could not argue back.

"If it wasn’t for that stupid north-"

"Watch your tongue. Be glad that Ms. Sunoma didn’t catch that."

"She’s an exception! I’m talking about those-"

"Sara."

Yarjak glanced sharply at his sister.

"S-sorry..." she said sheepishly with her head hung low.

He let out a sigh.

"Let’s return to our rooms for now."

Thus, the two siblings made their way back and the second day of the tournament week ended.

It was now Day 3.

"And the winner of the last match of the third round is Sylvia Pyril!" the announcer declared through his magic tool.

The crowd cheered louder than usual.

"Impressive. Even against an A-rank, she didn’t seem to struggle a lot." Ophelia commented.

"I guess this is the result of Lily’s and Sylvia’s training." Mika said, also impressed.

The third round was now over, resulting in 16 people advancing to the fourth round.

Amongst them besides Lily and Syliva, mostly red-class students advanced.

And as there were fewer and fewer participants, each round ended faster than the previous one.

Therefore, it was not even afternoon yet as the third round concluded.

In the meantime, Mika was watching the matches unfold from the VIP lounge.

Without him realizing it, he quickly got accustomed to sitting in the VIP lounge and talking with other prominent figures, like the crown prince and princess of Grat or even the king of Malnor.

Everyone seemed to enjoy the matches with the exception of the members of the Grand Order.

For Lereon and Elsa, the safety of the VIPs was more important than the matches, thus they paid more attention to the guests. But in Olivia’s case, it was because the matches until now were either one-sided or in her eyes boring.

"I’m so bored... Let’s go to the sparring grounds and fight, Ophelia~" Olivia stated tiredly.

"Are you sane? If you were to fight there, then there would be a lot of collateral damage."

"I can pay for that. It’s better than sitting here all the time."

"I’m not talking about buildings though..."

Mika, who was sitting between those sisters again, stood up and faced the Tiam siblings.

"I’m going to meet up with Sylvia and Lily. Do you want to come along with me?"

"Sure!"

"Gladly."

Ophelia looked indifferently at them one last time before the three exited the room.

The three headed to the resting hall again, however before they reached it, Sylvia and Lily came from that direction.

"Looks like we guessed correctly." Sylvia said with a faint smile.

"Hello there!" Lily greeted them energetically.

"You two did great back then." Mika complimented them.

"And your elegance was once again peerless, Lily." Yarjak added as he smiled at her.

"T-thanks..." Lily replied awkwardly with a stiff smile.

"Anyways!"

Sara shoved her brother to the side.

"Can I fight against one of you? I’m itching to fight- Uegh!"

"Those two still have matches today so hold back your beast-like instincts." Yarjak responded as he pushed her away, too.

Then, three other people joined that group.

"Did you make new friends, Mika?"

"How’s it going?"

"Another girl, huh...?"

Everyone turned in the direction Mika and the others came from.

Belian, Harik and Rachel joined them.

"Are you on your break as well?" Mika asked them.

"Yes, sort of." Belian replied.

"It’s gotten busier than yesterday. Even on break, I can’t seem to relax..." Harik added, shrugging his shoulders.

At the same time, the pouting Rachel sneaked herself into Mika’s arm and buried it in her body.

"And that’s why I opted to participate in the tournament than doing security." Sylvia mocked them with a smug smirk.

"I-it’s a joke, right, Sylvia?" Lily said nervously.

Sylvia and Lily joined the conversation.

"Oh, by the way, let me introduce to you these two." Mika announced as he looked behind him.

"He is Yarjak Tiam"

"Greetings."

Yarjak bowed slightly with his hand on his chest and a slight smile.

"And she is his younger sister Sara Tiam."

"A-ah, hello!"

Sara was caught off guard by the introduction as she was previously occupied with staring confusedly at Rachel, who was still clinging to Mika.

"Tiam..." Belian was in thought.

"Y-your highness...!"

Harik immediately got on his knee.

"So you know them?"

"Of course I do! They are from Grat’s royal family!" Harik replied loudly and clearly.

"I see... That’s why they’re so familiar..." Belian muttered.

"..."

Yarjak was looking at Harik pensively.

"Please raise your head. We don’t want to cause a commotion here, do we?" Yarjak said, glancing at the people around them.

"Y-yes... Pardon my foolishness..."

Harik slowly got up.

"Nice to meet you then. I’m Belian Ziva, this guy is Harik Srong and this girl there is Rachel Troa."

Belian walked over to Yarjak and introduced himself and his group.

"Is she your lover, Mika?" Sara wondered as she looked back to Rachel.

"Ye-"

"No. I don’t have a lover." Mika replied, cutting off Rachel, whose happy expression turned sour.

"This girl apparently only has an obsession for him." Sylvia added, grabbing her by her collar and lifting her up like a cat.

"J-just ignore her behavior, okay...?" Lily stated with a forced smile.

"Hmm~"

Sara did not seem convinced.

"You sure are surrounded by a lot of girls and women, Mika."

Lily and Sylvia simultaneously turned their heads to Mika.

Sylvia was smirking while Lily seemed worried.

"N-no idea what you mean..." he acted obliviously.

Sara closed the distance between her and Mika.

"Maybe you’re even more special than I thought..." she said pensively as she checked his entire body from toe to head.

"You’re too close." Rachel meddled in a stern and threatening tone.

"H-hey, she’s the crown princess, Rachel...!" Harik tried to calm her down.

"Haha, let her be. This is how we would like to be treated here." Yarjak responded relaxed.

While the others were talking amongst themselves, Belian and Mika talked alone.

"Are you prepared for tomorrow?" Belian asked.

"I guess so."

Tomorrow was the fourth day and the final day of the tournament. It was also the day when the special matches would be shown, including the match between the Maystra brothers and the duo of Belian and Mika. freeωebnovēl.c૦m

"Truth be told, I would rather like to train now but as a security guard you have no time to relax and even if your shift ended, you would be too exhausted to do anything." Belian lamented.

"How about we switch places then?" Mika joked.

"I will kindly accept your offer." Belian replied immediately.

"Sur- Wait, really?"

Mika thought that Belian would decline his offer, which was also meant as a joke.

"Just kidding." Belian stated bluntly without changing his stoic facial expression.

However, Mika was now even more shocked as Belian rarely cracked a joke.

"Anyways, how about we exchange our information regarding Cail and Xander?" Belian switched topics.

Mika nodded his head once.

Thus, the two talked about tomorrow until their break was over.

And meanwhile, somewhere a little bit outside of Loogam, a group of individuals were assembling in a deserted building in a deserted village.

"Do we really have to wear this...?"

"Don’t be so picky."

"Without that, we can’t get in without them noticing."

"Do we even have enough?"

"Yes. That person was able to deliver one robe for every single one of us."

The interior of the building was too dark to identify the individuals’ appearances.

"And how is it going with the monsters?"

"Everything is according to plan."

"Is everything going well on the other side, too?"

"No problems there, either."

"Now, it depends only on the resources they can suck out from them today."

"Understood."

In the back, laughter from multiple individuals was heard.

"So it’s finally time, huh?"

Someone lit a candle in the middle of the space, revealing the silhouettes and shadows of those residing there.

More than 20 people were relaxing around that candle with their bat-like wings spread out.

"Tomorrow will be the day when we will come closer to our liege’s goal."
