Chapter 61: Running(2)

Raven

I didn’t know which was worse, seeing one of the alphas appear in wolf form or a beast. But that was until I actually turned my gaze to the side and saw the beast.

It wasn’t big, cat family which meant that it’s reflexes were at an all time high. It’s eyes gold focused on me as it growled and I felt every cell in my body tremble in fear. I didn’t want to die and even if I wanted to, being eaten wasn’t the way to go.

Backing away as I slowly whispered under my breath, "good kitty!" It looked like a cat but it’s size was five times bigger. Nothing a child wolf wouldn’t have been able to take care of but I didn’t even have a wolf form.

I was terrified as I heard my heart thumping heavily in my chest backing away slowly to ease the pressure in my head that kept screaming that I was going to die.

It growled again, body lowered to the ground as I held my back like a weopon but I wasn’t foolish enough to think that it was going to save me.

Watching it crouch closer even as I looked around seeing nothing but trees and branches. No one was coming to save me from being eaten.

There was nothing else to do as I dug into my pockets my hands clasped around the red potion dangling it in front of it like a weopon.

"I’ll use this!" I promised watching it come closer as I unscrewed the bottle and tossed a bit at it as a warning or food.

Either was good enough for me, but I had barely tossed the small bottle at it in a bid to distract it as I ran in the opposite direction when my eyes widened and my eyes froze in complete and utter shock.

The liquid sank right into its body and in seconds the beasts spasmed in what could only be pain. My eyes widening in shock as I watched the breathe fall to the ground breathing its last.

I couldn’t move even if I wanted to. My eyes bulging out of its sockets ss I stared comprehending every bit of what had just happened.

The potion Gessia had given me to drink had just killed a beast instantly. ’Poison,’ was the only thing I could mutter under my breathe while shaking my head.

It didn’t make sense. Why would Gessia want to slowly kill me by asking me to take drops. I was the golden goose that was supposed to lay eggs wasn’t I?

Of what good was i to her if I was dead but then I didn’t know magic. Maybe it has a different effect on beasts...I wondered not stupid enough to believe it:

Picking up my bag from the floor where I had dropped it before I continuedo run as fast as my legs could carry me.

I dish&5k have a particular direction in mind but to me there was only one direction to go.

The east led to the huge river i couldn’t swim across and the south was the direction of the pack.

The only place to go was north either that or west but that would take more time.

Hoping that another beast would find the carcasses and cover up my trace with the smell of blood i continued to run aware that I would have no choice but to take my second bottle very soon.

This time I ran faster aware that longer I spent along in the forest the more my chances that much bigger beasts would appear to feed on me.

By the time I took the second bottle, I knew the potions were not working ss great as the first time. It helped wade off my tiredness but in its place was this weird urge to sleep.

’You can do this Raven,’ I told myself leaning against a tree when I suddenly began to hear voices. It was a bit faint but distinct enough that I knew it couldn’t possibly have been made by beasts.

"Werewolf’s?l i wondered lowering myself to the ground to hide for a while hoping to dash to the opposite direction until they came closer and I smelt them.

It was distinct. They smelled like humans. Like fire and wood Mets he’s together while werewolf’s smelt more like the earth.

There were four men and they carried weapons. Was I realized to did see humans? Kinda but I was also scared aware that I was a woman and they were men.

’Werewolves are animals but I hear that humans are just like any other beasts,’ having heard enough stories of their works to know that their cruelty was like any other.

I lowered myself behind a tree watching them from afar while trying to figure out what to do. If they could get to me then it meant that I wasn’t far from where they were.

Maybe a long while more, staring up at the sky that showed that the sun was barely out in the sky.

They were not as big as werewolf’s and had a weird unkept look to them as they moved around. I had already decided to hide and continue on my way.

’I need to get to the nearest village or town and mix in! It’s the only way!’ I thought to myself making up my mind as I knelt close to the ground waiting for them to pass by me.

A great distance between us as I waited from behind the tree only watch one of them deviate with a loud sigh.

"Give me a moment! I need to pee!" He said moving towards my position in a way that had my heart racing in my chest harder in my chest. I could see him and it was all I could do to remain still aware that the moment i moved they would see me since it was daylight and there was no way to remain hidden. freewebnσvel.cѳm

"Just do it right here! Are you ashamed of your cock? We’re all men!" One of them snapped in annoyance as the other snapped right back.

"What? Do I look like I want to smell his pee? He better do it far there!" The other snapped back even as the one that lagged behind and looked the youngest kept quiet looking around instead with wary eyes.

All of them gripping steel weopon that made fear bloom in my heart ss I watched him move closer and close.
