Chapter 44: Fun!
Thor
I quite enjoyed being the mediator, and not for the reasons most would assume. It was not about keeping peace or playing the noble role. It was because no one ever saw me as someone to guard against.
Not when I was the one stepping between raised fists, calming voices, urging others to stand down before things spiraled beyond control.
"You can’t kill her!" I snapped at Axel, the word yet lingering unspoken at the edge of my tongue as I stepped closer to him, meeting his glare without hesitation.
The tension between us was sharp enough to cut through the room. Axel took a step back, huffing in annoyance, his jaw clenched tightly as though he was holding himself back from saying far more than he should.
I glanced to my right at Gessia, whose head I had more than once imagined separating from her body. She smiled at me, soft and grateful, as though I had just done her a great kindness. The kind of smile that expected something in return.
I returned it, faint and controlled, before stepping back.
There was no need to speak further. Axel would handle the rest without my involvement.
"Explain yourself!" he snapped at her, his patience already hanging by a thread.
I folded my arms across my chest, settling into stillness as I watched.
Was I bored? Slightly.
But not enough to leave.
Curiosity held me there more than anything else. I needed to understand why Gessia thought she could withhold information from us while feeding us only what suited her. That alone was dangerous. In our current position, ignorance could very well be the thing that killed us.
She had been the one to find Raven. The one who claimed she could track omegas. Because of her, we had launched attack after attack on other packs, only to leave empty-handed each time we discovered there was nothing to gain.
"The humans don’t work!" she said, frustration slipping into her voice. "The power you gain from them is not worth the energy I would invest. And you both know I am not doing this for free."
Her gaze flickered between us before she continued, more defensively now.
"I also need to harvest energy into my soul. That was always part of the agreement."
Yes, she had explained her methods—her soul magic storage—in exhausting detail. It was the only reason we tolerated her presence. The only reason she was still breathing.
The other reason was necessity.
We needed her.
We needed power.
Power enough to rival the Moonburn pack—an unnatural force that should not have existed in the first place.
"If you use humans, it will always be a waste of time," she continued. "Quality is always better than quantity."
I listened, but not in the way Axel did.
He heard her words.
I watched her.
Her expressions, the subtle shifts in her tone, the flickers of calculation behind her eyes. Those told me far more than anything she was saying aloud.
Axel, however, had reached his limit.
"We’ll discuss this again once Rex is back from his rut!" he snapped, turning sharply as he stormed up the stairs.
A moment later, the sound of a door slamming echoed through the hall.
I understood his frustration, even if I did not feel it the same way. We were vulnerable. More than either of us liked to admit. If we were attacked now, we would lose.
Running would be our only option.
Especially after what we had done.
After we had killed Alpha Valon’s son.
Yemac.
The name lingered in my mind like a shadow.
Gessia had used him for her experiments, testing whether an unrelated adult werewolf could serve her purposes. The result had been predictable. Failure.
Still, I doubted it had been purely for our benefit.
Werewolf blood did something for her. Something humans could not provide.
That much was clear.
With Axel gone, silence settled between us.
I heard her turn before I saw it.
"Thank you," she said softly.
Her voice trembled, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. A practiced display of vulnerability.
I met her gaze, offering only the faintest hint of a smile.
She looked weak.
Fragile.
But I knew better.
Behind that softness was anger.
And beneath that anger, something far more dangerous.
Desire.
She wanted me.
I could see it in the way her posture shifted, in the way she stepped closer, in the way her gaze lingered just a moment too long.
It almost made me laugh.
The idea that I would be interested in her, in this performance, was almost insulting.
Still, I did not look away.
I let my gaze drift, slow and deliberate, aware of how it affected her. How her breath hitched slightly. How hope flickered across her face.
She mistook attention for interest.
A common mistake.
To my mild surprise, she reached for the front of her gown, undoing the straps with trembling fingers. The fabric loosened, slipping just enough to reveal more than she probably should have. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
Her cheeks flushed, but she did not stop.
She stepped closer.
Offering.
Waiting.
Watching me as though my reaction would determine everything.
And yet, my thoughts were elsewhere.
On a different scent.
A different presence I could not quite shake from my mind.
Maybe I did need a distraction.
The thought came uninvited, but I did not dismiss it.
My gaze returned to her, sharper now.
"Kneel!" I growled out amused to see her glance worriedly at the door which was right beside us. Any guard wanting to do something in the lower floors or heading to the study would see her.
Her position as something close to the healer was solidified but it would be very bad if she was soon known as a whore who slept with the alphas in bare view.
Staring at her waiting for her to refuse but she didn’t. The desperation in her gaze made her drop to her knees, shifting her head forward towards my crotch gaze lifted begging to suck me off with her eyes.
I was tempted as I nodded my head and she didn’t hesistate pulling out my hardened member right into her mouth, but it was how hard she was trying to please me that amused me.
What I found even funnier was listening as footsteps echoed on the stairs, one headed right towards the hall.
I grabbed her head making sure she couldn’t pull away as I began to thrust my hips forward into her mouth. She couldn’t take the entirety of my cock but I didn’t need her to as i lowered my hands and ripped off more of her clothes baring her breasts to the air.
She choked on my cock and I still didn’t care as I heard the door push open and someone enter, she gasped trying to pull back but I thrusted deeper as I came splitting my seed into her mouth as so watched her choke on it.
