Chapter 59: Chapter 31: Holy Court Seafood Buffet, a Massage, BBQ, and KTV Package (Part 3)

No wonder there was an extra 1,000 yuan charge for the private room. So it came with a dedicated chef. The money was definitely worth it.

Zhou Jiawen raised her hand. "I want sashimi!"

Zhao Xia stroked her chin thoughtfully. "I’ll have the hot pot."

Yang Mei chuckled. "Dry pot shrimp for me."

Jiang Li poured water for each of them. After all three had ordered, she finally said what she wanted to eat. "In that case, I’ll have the teppanyaki squid."

The chef sent everyone’s orders to the food prep department, then tied on his apron and put on his chef’s hat.

He started with the hot pot base. "For the hot pot broth, would you like spicy, non-spicy, or a yin-yang pot?"

Jiang Li asked tentatively, "How about a yin-yang pot?"

The three of them nodded in agreement. Seeing this, the chef got busy.

Just as he finished stir-frying the base ingredients, a waiter came in with a cart.

He pressed a switch on the table, and a large pot suddenly rose from the smooth surface.

The waiter placed a divider in the pot, and the chef poured the two different broth bases in, added water, and then turned on the heat.

Once that was done, he started preparing the side dishes for the hot pot and the sashimi.

The four of them chatted and mixed their dipping sauces, and before long, the pot began to boil.

They didn’t even have to lift a finger. A waiter stood by, helping them add ingredients to the pot, allowing them to achieve the grand goal of being waited on hand and foot.

The meal left them all sweating profusely, but it was incredibly satisfying.

All they had to do was eat; they didn’t even need to pick up their chopsticks, as the waiter would serve the food for them.

Perhaps because the service was so attentive, Jiang Li felt a pang of conscience as they were leaving and gave the waiter an extra 500 yuan tip.

Don’t ask why it was 500. The reason was that it was the only cash she had in her wallet.

After dinner, they decided to go for massages.

Besides, someone else was footing the bill, and it was a chance to get closer to Zhao Xia and Yang Mei. Why not?

’Alright, the main reason was that I didn’t want to go back and face Shen Yanzhi so early. I was afraid my back would be sore.’

After their massages, they found a KTV that also served barbecue. By the time they finished, it was nearly 11 PM.

Zhao Xia patted Jiang Li’s shoulder. "Xiao Jiang, you really spent a lot tonight."

Jiang Li waved her hand dismissively. "Hey, don’t mention it! I can only relax like this because you’re all here. If anything, I should be thanking you."

’They were the ones who gave me an excuse to come home late.’

"It’s getting late, so let’s call it a night. We can get together again next time you’re free."

Zhao Xia gave Jiang Li a meaningful look. "Alright. Let’s do this again when we’re free."

Hearing those words from Zhao Xia, Jiang Li knew their relationship was now on solid ground.

Yang Mei yawned. "I haven’t stayed up this late in a long time. But I had a lot of fun today. Next time, we can just play mahjong; you don’t have to plan so many activities."

Jiang Li made an OK sign. "No problem."

As they were wrapping up, the two women had already called their drivers. They didn’t have to wait long at the entrance before two cars pulled up to the curb, one after the other.

Zhao Xia waved. "Alright, I’m heading off then."

Yang Mei yawned again. "See you next time."

After Zhao Xia and Yang Mei left one after another, Zhou Jiawen finally spoke. "Looks like those two really like you."

Before Jiang Li could offer a modest reply, Zhou Jiawen continued, "We used to have another mahjong partner, but she just didn’t get it. We stopped contacting her after playing twice."

"Getting Sister Xia and Sister Mei to add you on WeChat... you’re one of the very few people to manage that, besides me."

Jiang Li put her hands together in a gesture of gratitude. "I really have you to thank for the introduction."

Zhou Jiawen put on a stern face. "We’re all family. No need for thanks."

Jiang Li paused for a moment, then smiled. "Alright, I won’t say it again."

Zhou Jiawen gave her a mischievous grin. "Instead of thank yous, there’s something else I’m curious about."

Jiang Li had a bad feeling about this. "What is it?"

"Back then, what made you think of calling Big Brother to be the groom? Had you already secretly fallen for him?"

’Sure enough, a woman’s sixth sense is scarily accurate.’

She gave an awkward laugh. "Well, we were pretty close back in college. It’s just that he went abroad afterward, so we lost touch."

"I just called him on a whim, not really expecting anything. I was surprised he hadn’t changed his number."

Zhou Jiawen thought, ’If he *had* changed his number, you wouldn’t have been able to reach him, would you?’

But what she said out loud was, "It just goes to show that you and Big Brother are fated to be together."
