Chapter 49: Chapter 28: She Could Guarantee It, Shen Yanzhi Definitely Liked Jiang Li

As they spoke, a luxurious villa came into view. Just from the looks of it, the property seemed to be at least four or five thousand square meters, almost making Zhong Mufeng slam on the brakes.

Knowing Jiang Li owned a villa was one thing, but seeing it with her own eyes was another matter entirely.

She had imagined something around a few hundred, maybe a thousand square meters, but now that she was seeing the real thing, it looked to be at least four or five thousand.

She couldn’t help but click her tongue in amazement. "Good grief, there are only two of you. What are you going to do with such a huge villa?!"

Jiang Li scratched her head. "This way, when his parents and my parents come to visit, they’ll have a place to stay. It won’t be crowded."

’Of course, the real reason I bought this villa was just to get the rebate.’

’Then again, a bigger villa isn’t without its advantages.’

’When we have kids, I can even build them a playground right here at home.’

Zhong Mufeng gave her a thumbs-up. "You’re the rich ones. You get to call the shots."

She had always been opposed to playing the stock market, but now, she suddenly had the urge to try.

Since Jiang Li had made so much money in the market, if she just followed Jiang Li’s lead, she could probably make a seven or eight-figure sum herself, right?

Just the thought of it was exciting. Itching to get started, she asked, "By the way, what stock are you buying right now?"

Perhaps it was the telepathy between best friends, but Jiang Li knew what Zhong Mufeng was getting at without even having to think.

’I told Zhong Mufeng I made my money in stocks, and now that story’s come back to bite me like a boomerang.’

After a quick brainstorm, she said, "Qingbao, you’re forgetting what you said yourself—the stock market is risky."

"Why do you think I was in such a hurry to buy a restaurant and start a company?"

Meeting Zhong Mufeng’s confused gaze, Jiang Li added, "It’s because the stock market is unstable. Plus, now that I’m married, I have to aim for stability. I can’t be as reckless as I used to be."

Zhong Mufeng nodded in understanding. No wonder Jiang Li had suddenly bought a restaurant, hired several assistants at once, and was planning to open a company. It was all to plan for her future.

The car was just approaching an intersection when Jiang Li pointed. "Pull into the parking garage."

Following her finger, Zhong Mufeng hit the gas and drove over.

In the enormous garage, only a single Porsche 911 was parked, looking a little lonely.

She parked casually to one side, got out, and walked over to the Porsche. Lightly stroking its body, she exclaimed, "Not bad at all. You’ve even got a Porsche 911."

Jiang Li followed behind her, bag in hand. "And aren’t you driving a Maybach right now?"

Zhong Mufeng chuckled. "And I have my best friend to thank for that. If it weren’t for you, forget a Maybach, I probably couldn’t even afford a beat-up sedan."

Jiang Li walked ahead to lead the way. "Come on, let’s go upstairs. Shen Yanzhi is waiting."

"GRRRUMBLE—"

Zhong Mufeng laughed and rubbed her stomach. "I was fine until you said that. Now that you mention it, I am pretty hungry."

Jiang Li glanced at her watch. It was already past eight. "Well, look at the time. It’d be weird if you weren’t hungry."

With that, she sent a text to Shen Yanzhi, telling him to start putting the food on the table and that they’d be right up.

Zhong Mufeng followed closely behind Jiang Li, curiously sizing up their surroundings like Granny Liu entering the Grand View Garden. "Just your parking garage is this huge. Is the upstairs even bigger?"

"You’ll find out when we get up there."

When they reached the elevator, Jiang Li opened it with her fingerprint, prompting an exclamation from Zhong Mufeng. "Whoa, so high-tech!"

Jiang Li pressed the button for the first floor and replied, "You could say times are changing."

It wasn’t just Zhong Mufeng. Jiang Li herself had been stunned when she’d first used the elevator and discovered that feature.

"DING—"

Before Zhong Mufeng could say anything, the elevator doors slid open.

Shen Yanzhi was waiting by the elevator. Hearing the chime, he took a step forward, his gaze falling on Jiang Li as he extended a hand.

Jiang Li froze for a second, thinking he wanted to hold her hand. She couldn’t help but blush. "Qingbao’s still here."

’I never realized Shen Yanzhi was so clingy.’

Shen Yanzhi touched the tip of his nose. He had actually just been reaching for her bag.

Zhong Mufeng covered her eyes and said magnanimously, "It’s fine. You two can just pretend I don’t exist."

’She’s already being the perfect wingwoman. It would be wrong not to hold hands now.’

Shen Yanzhi decisively took Jiang Li’s hand, taking her bag at the same time. Trailing behind them, Zhong Mufeng silently pulled out her phone to snap a picture.

’Okay, ladies, aren’t they just the perfect match?!’

’I just never imagined this is what he’d be like—the unattainable prince brought down from his pedestal. He’s so clingy!’

’She’d bet anything on it: Shen Yanzhi was absolutely crazy about Jiang Li.’
