Chapter 666: An Ineffable Family (3)

As the others dove headfirst into the chaos, as usual, Ash gravitated toward the biggest challenge he could find.

Even with the extra boost all their enemies currently enjoyed, it would still take a whole lot more to make Ash even start to break a sweat.

And, well... that’s exactly what he was about to get.

While the other beings had been charging mindlessly toward the Ineffable Pantheon for what felt like hours, the Forbidden Essences stood together, watching it all unfold in a mix of awe and fright.

At this moment, though, they understood they had only one option left—not to save the Mother, no.

They could see through the foolish that blinded the others.

By now, they were simply searching for a way out for themselves.

For the entire time Ash’s art was unveiling... The Forbidden Essences had hovered high in the fractured skies, nearly level with the floating thrones of the Ineffable Pantheon.

And still their forms were battered and worn from over an hour of relentless fighting — cracks of golden light leaked from their bodies like bleeding wounds, their once-stable shapes flickering and distorting under the strain.

Below them, the battlefield had become pure madness.

BOOOOOOOM!!!!!!

BOOOOOM!!!!!

The members of the Ineffable Pantheon had begun moving through the chaos with terrifying ease, carving through endless waves of Divine Horrors and Existence warriors alike like the gods they were,

Explosions bloomed in brilliant flashes of gold and void, while roars and screams echoed endlessly across the broken ground.

The Pantheon didn’t fight with desperation — they fought with casual, overwhelming dominance, as if the slaughter beneath them was nothing more than a passing amusement.

And the five Forbidden Essences only watched, with their glowing eyes reflecting the carnage.

The Forbidden Essence of Null hovered slightly above the others, its shifting black silhouette marred by pulsing golden cracks that leaked faint light.

Its form trembled with exhaustion, the cracks widening with every passing second.

The Forbidden Essence of Foundations stood like a cracked monument of living stone, deep fissures running across its body as it struggled to hold its shape together.

The Forbidden Essence of New Beginnings flickered rapidly between forms, its light growing dimmer and more unstable with every moment.

The Forbidden Essence of All shifted constantly, its form unable to settle on any single state as it watched the overwhelming display of power below.

The Forbidden Essence of Reckoning gripped its weapon tightly, its burning crown fractured and leaking dark light, its armored body scarred from countless impacts.

In that moment, they exchanged a single glance, and without a word, they all understood the same grim truth.

There was no chance of winning here — not against beings who could wipe out entire existences with nothing more than a thought.

And worse still, what were they supposed to do when even their own creator had turned away, leaving them behind?

The only path left was to try and impress them, to show they were worth keeping alive.

It was a thin, desperate thread of hope, but it was the last one they had to hold on to.

The Forbidden Essence of Null’s layered voice echoed with clear tension.

"...We have only one option left." It said as it eyes shifted to the Mother. "There’s no need in worrying about someone whose not worried about her own creations! So... We must try to impress those beings... and hope they spare us."

The Forbidden Essence of Foundations rumbled in agreement, its stone-like body groaning with the sound of shifting boulders.

"Impress them? With what?"

It knew that in their current forms, even with the recent boost Ash had granted them all there was simply no way they could stand against the Ineffable Pantheon.

Facing one of them would already be a monumental challenge...

But going up against more than thirty?

That was pushing beyond a limit that didn’t even exist.

"We’re already at our tail ends...."

The Forbidden Essence of New Beginnings flickered rapidly, its once-bright glow now fading.

"You already know with what," it said, as they clung to their last remaining ace, though at this stage...

"The real question is whether they would even think about sparing anything. Still, no matter how slim the odds, there’s no other path left for us to take."

The Forbidden Essence of All shifted between forms, its voice a layered mix of tension and unease.

"Heh... I don’t know if we should curse the Mother for sitting on that throne like some pampered princess watching her own creations suffer or applaud her for at least finding a way out."

It a truly bittersweet moment, but given everything that had happened, could they really blame her?

If the Mother had been here, revealing herself for the first time, and these Horrors were clearly stronger than usual, then the implications were clear.

They found themselves concluding that Father must be dead as well.

The Forbidden Essence of Reckoning tightened its grip on its weapon, the blaze of its crown flaring brighter with each heartbeat.

"It doesn’t matter.... Regardless, we try... or we die here like the rest," it said with grim certainty.

For a moment, silence settled over them, heavy with the weight of what they were about to do.

In the distance, the furious roars of the Divine Horrors grew closer, another wave crashing toward them.

Slowly, wordlessly, they exchanged a final nod.

There was no other path forward. In perfect sync, the five Forbidden Essences began to close the distance between them.

Their battered forms moved with heavy, deliberate motions.

The air around them thickened with tension, the battlefield’s distant roars and explosions fading into a low, muffled hum as they focused entirely on the desperate act of fusion.

Just as their forms began to overlap, a figure appeared.

Ash materialized a short distance away, floating casually in the air with his hands in the pockets of his black baggy attire. ƒгeewёbnovel.com

A relaxed, almost playful smile rested on his face as he looked at them.

In that moment, even if their eyes weren’t directly on him or they couldn’t truly see him, his very presence alone sent the coldest chill through them.

The five Forbidden Essences froze on the spot.

Their bodies tensed, pulling apart as they instinctively separated, their glowing eyes locking onto him with a mix of shock and raw dread.

The golden cracks on their forms flared brighter, as if their very essence was reacting to his presence.

Ash simply raised one hand in a lazy wave, his voice calm and unbothered.

"Oh, carry on," he said, as if he had just interrupted a casual conversation. "I haven’t let someone power up before. Just make it interesting for my good readers."
